Retina Macbook And Sharing Internet Connection With Android Phone
Jul 4, 2012I just updatet my 2010 MBP to the new retina model. For years, I have used my mobile phones (iPhone and lately several Android models) to connect to internet, which has always worked perfectly.Now, with latest OSX there is a problem. I get the connection, and it shows no signs of losing it, but still the browser claims I'm offline. Turning the WIFI off and on again will help, but only for few minutes until the same happens again, everytime.

Feb 2, 2010Until the recent large update (149 mgb) to iTunes I was able to pair my LG phone to my wife's iMac and transfer mp3 files either way using Bluetooth. Now when I pair the phone and go to Browse Device on the iMac it lists all of my phone memory files but will only open the the SDPicture file. When I click on the SDMusic file it says operation failed. Is this just Apple protecting their rice bowl with regard to music sales or is it a glitch in the software?

May 11, 2010I finally bit the bullet on a new i7 15" MBP today to replace my dying 3.5 year old MB. I want to transfer my music and pictures from MB and also preserve my playlists and photo albums. I currently have a TimeCapsule as well. My current MB is "faulty" so I don't really want to copy over the drive per se, just the music / pictures. What's the easiest that I can do this? Sorry, I've never done this before and in the past I've just used an external HD and copied over the music/pic files but I lost the playlist/albums. It's over 3 years of work to redo, so to speak, and I want to see if there was an easier way to do this.

Nov 22, 2008I'm having problems transferring photos from my camera to the computer. The transfer stops and just hangs there. I can't stop the transfer, unmount the CF card, shut down, or restart. The only way to recover is to hold down the power button and restart. The system does not freeze, just the transfer.
If I transfer all of my pictures at once, it usually hangs after about 150 pictures. If I transfer 300 or so pictures 10 at a time, it will hang a couple of times. However, while the computer is waiting on a hung transfer, I can start more transfers and those will work fine. After I "restart," I have no problem copying the previously-troublesome pictures.
This happens when I use iPhoto, copy using the Finder, or copy using Terminal. I have two CF cards, and it does this for both cards. (Before I use a card, I usually format the card inside the camera.) I have two readers, and it does this for both readers. It has to be a problem in the system somewhere.
I'm running 10.4.11.

Mar 31, 2012Is there any way to move the existing pics on my iPhone to, my NEW iMac? I HAD a PC which, crapped out (hard disk failure). My problem is, if I let iTunes, sync, it will erase my pictures for which, there is NO backup. If I lose the pics on my iPhone 4, they are gone forever. Emailing them is not an option, there are 2000 of them.
