MacBook Pro :: Right Channel Output Not Working Properly?

Sep 10, 2014

I recently purchased a Retina Macbook Pro 15" no more than 3 months ago.

Today I just noticed that whenever I connect my headphones I can hear the left channel clearly but the right channel is a lower volume and distorted.

at first I thought it was the headphones, but have tried various ones and it doesn't seem to be that.

Also, output from the internal speakers sounds fine, same level on both channels and clear

Mac Pro :: 2008 - No Right Channel Output?

Jun 7, 2009

I cannot get right channel out from either the built-in line out jack on the rear of my mac, or the front headphone jack. On the system preferences panel when I slide the balance to the right everything goes out. I first thought it was just an itunes issue, but the sound problem carries over with DVD playback.

OS X :: MacBook Wireless Not Working Properly?

Sep 8, 2009

Starting about 4 months ago my 3 year-old 2.0GHz Core Duo MacBook's wireless started to not work very well. What was happening is that after starting the computer or waking it from sleep, it was able to connect to my network, but after about 5 seconds it would lose the signal despite being physically very close to the router without anything to block the signal. The problem progressively got worse, and at its worst it was only able to connect about 1 in 10 times. Either it wouldn't find the network at all, or it would find it but couldn't connect because "The connection timed out" or something like that.

I never bothered fixing the problem because my Mac was having a bunch of other issues at the time, so I was just going to fix them all by doing a fresh install of Snow Leopard once it came out.

So 3 days ago I did a fresh install of Snow Leopard (I formatted the harddrive then did a fresh install, not an archive and install). Unfortunately, it only kinda helped the wireless problem: I can now connect half the time rather than 1 in 10 times like it used to be.

I'm quite sure my network isn't the problem because everyone that has used my network in the recent past (which has been about 10 different PCs, Macs, and iPhones) hasn't had any problems. FYI, I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router.

MacBook Pro :: Tap To Click Not Working Properly?

Mar 21, 2012

After re-installing Lion I've had this very annoying issue with tap-to-click on the trackpad of my MBP. While it seems to work most of the time, I often have to move the cursor away from the button or click on a window as if to make it active in orer for the click to work. A similar problem is occuring in MS Word when I'm going through the spell check process - I have to sometimes click "ignore" multiple times or click somewhere else in that window for the click to register.

OS X :: MacBook Sound Not Working - No Output Devices Found

Jul 11, 2009

My sound has completely quit working. In the sound system prefs I get a massage saying "No output devices found". If I press the volums button keys the onscreen display comes up but has a 'no access' icon on it (a circle with a line through it). The icon in the toolbar has also vanished and there's just a blank space in its place.

Oddly whatever happened also seems to have effected my ability to view Flash movies -*the will play for a few seconds an then pause *they don't stutter they just pause. I think that whatever the issue is it was caused by a force shut down. All my applications were hanging so I had to press down the power button for a few seconds. Since then nothing!

This also effects the start-up sound which I don't get and all users of the machine are the same so it's not a case of deleting users prefs. So far I reinstalled the latest system using combo updater, run disk utility to repair disk/privileges (from start up disk) and zapped the PRAM.

MacBook Pro :: External Speakers Not Working For Audio Output

May 21, 2012

I have owned my MacBook Pro since June 2010, and have always used a pair of independently powered (via adapter) external Dell speakers for audio output.Since upgrading to Lion about 1 month ago, I was having intermittent audio issues, which were resolved by re-starting my computer (not ideal but it worked). Today, the speakers just stopped working. The internal speakers work, but when I plug the externals into the headphone port, they don't produce sound. Earbuds in the same port also don't work (I know the earbuds are good). The external speakers are being recognized by the sound panel in system preferences.

I have a one month old "late 2011 model" unibody Macbook Pro where the HDMI output just suddenly stopped working with no changes in configuration.I've tried resetting the PRAM and SMC, switched HDMI cables, cold rebooting everything, tried different HDMI ports, different resolutions on the TV and switched audio output settings, nothing works. When I plug the cable in the Mac switches resolutions, recognizes the TV in the Displays preference panel and correctly identifies it as a Toshiba, but doesn't send any audio or video signals to the TV.

MacBook Pro :: Keyboard Not Working Properly After 10.6.4 Update

Jun 23, 2010

I updated to 10.6.4 the other day on my mbp 17" 2.93 mid 2009 model the other day. Since, my computer has developed two problems. first and most annoying, the keyboard doesn't work properly anymore. Shift keys don't work, then they do work. One side doesn't then the other side does. option and command do the same thing. Is this a documented problem? I searched and saw it was prior to 10.6.4, but I never had any problems until this update. Also, when I shut my computer, instead of going to sleep now. It goes crazy, fans jack up to full speed and it gets super hot. Doesn't sleep at all. Funny enough before the update, when i closed the lid the computer would go to sleep and wouldn't wake up.
