OS X V10.7 Lion :: Quicken 2007 Won't Open - Not Supported

Feb 13, 2012

Just upgraded to OSx Lion 10.7 and find that Quicken 2007 won't open as Lion does not support it. Quicken advises that it does not yet have Quicken for Lion but is working on it. Meantime I am stuck as I use Quicken all the time. I am wondering if it is possible to uninstall Lion using the Snow Leopard install CD. At present, Lion is a disaster and I'd like to get rid of it and go back to Snow Leopard. Apple really screwed up with this one.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Power Pc ApplicationsNo Longer Supported To Open Application

May 6, 2012

Upgraded my MacPro 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon to Lion so that I can take advantage of icloud functions that apparently won't work with my present OS. I did a clean install of the Lion OS, and began to selectively reinstall application programs. I inserted the install disc for my Logic Studio Application, an application which was not cheap, and I am met with the above message when I try to install the software. (Actually, "you can't open the application LogicStudio.mpkg because powerpc applications are no longer supported")Under the system requirements, I find my machine within the guidelines. Also, this software worked fine on this mac machine when I was running the Leopard OS. What is "PC" about my Dual Intel processors?

Aperture :: 3.5.1 / OS X 10.10 - RAW Files Suddenly Show Up As (not Supported)

Sep 8, 2014

I’m running the latest Aperture (3.5.1, Digital Camera RAW 6.00) on the Yosemite Beta (10.10).Photos that have been imported some months ago (recent vacation, Nikon D7000 RAW files) suddenly show up as “Unsupported Image Format”, even though they worked fine until I wanted to order a book from this vacation. Once that problem started to manifest, also some RAW photos from my Lumix GM1 show up as unsupported, others work just fine. These images were imported some time ago, edited and exported to flickr, thus used to be accessible just fine with Aperture.I’ve   - run all three options from the special startup of Aperture (Repair Permissions, Repair Database, Rebuild Database),  - ran Disk Utility to repair the permissions and repaired my disk  - reprocessed the Originalsbut still cannot access the files, as the short movie here shows. Accessing the files with Nikons ViewNX 2 works fine (obviously only the Nikon RAW files).But even if I re-save the affected files with the Nikon software and re-import them to Aperture, Aperture shows the dreaded “unsupported file format” image for these files…

MacBook Pro :: Unable To Open Files

Feb 8, 2012

This week my G5 started getting flaky. (Mac Pro G5, Model 5.1 2x2.4 GHz Quad Core with 24 GB RAM OS 10.6.8) Apps that I've been working with started not saving files, trying to open files not working. If I drag and drop a file on the app icon it will open. Sometimes I get a "Could not Open because of a disk read error" and "Could not save because of a disk read error" message. If I do a shortcut Cmd+S file will save or if I close window with out saving, I get the prompt to "save file...OK" and that works. If I go to Page setup, the dialog box comes up but is blank, with a Settings drop down that doesn't really do anything. I've used disk utility to repair permissions,..several times. I have set up another account and get the same results. It seems to be hitting all my apps. I have run techtool pro and everything it can check is fine. I have Sophos Antivirus on this Mac and it finds nothing.
