i have been a 13" macbook user for over a year and love every moment of it.
I work on large spreadsheets daily with the laptop open and another 19" monitor. I am considering adding another monitor and keeping the laptop closed.
Is such setup possible? Have 2 screens on my desk, plugging the laptop to them, keeping it closed and working solely of the 2 external monitors?
New to the site and am looking for a larger display for my 13.3" white macbook. I like the look of the HPs and think they are compatible with my PC but can't find out if they are with mac. the model numbers are:
HP 2010i 20in LCD Monitor
HP 2210i 21.5in Full HD LCD Monitor
HP 2310i 23in Full HD LCD Monitor ?
also, their all .avi video's. and i'm really confused! also, quicktime isn't letting me play .avi videos for some reason! and vlc won't download for me. and i'll put them on a USB but they wont download on my computer!

If I buy 2 LCD monitors (two LED apples are too expensive for me right now), can I get them both rigged up to my closed MBP, mirrored but at the same time duel separate function display? There must be some kind of adapter that allows you to run that.
Ideally I would have my left over HDTV on another desk to the left of the duel monitors as a 3rd one that I could use as a preview monitor for video and design. and/or just use it as a 3rd desktop space where I could say, show a client or friend a sample of finished work full screen, or put on a movie or run Itunes visualizer and music, all while I am using the main duel LCD computer displays to do work.
I currently have a 2010 13" Macbook pro..
I'm using a 22" LCD right now, and just received a 24" Dell as a gift..
Is there any way to use these two monitors? I'd want to use their native resolutions as well.
I know you can get the DVI external dongle but I am wondering if you could hook up two external monitors to the MBA. If anyone has tried this please post with pictures or video.

Ideal config would have the MBP in the middle with a 22" LCD on each side of the laptop. would like the dock/title bar on the laptop and be able to move windows over to each of the monitors.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Macbook Black running 10.5 (soon to be 10.6!), and currently have an external monitor hooked up via a Mini-DVI-to-VGA adapter. I'm trying to figure out an option for getting an second external up and running. (I do pdf-intensive research, and, well, you know how that goes. I'd hook up 25 monitors if I could--but I'm just setting my sights on a third screen for the time being!) I've done my homework with the search function, but the advice has been conflicting--some threads have made it sound like it can't be done; some others have said a product like DualHead2Go works. And a lot of threads are just plain over my head.

hooking up three external monitors to my macbook pro (mid 2010).
The only serious (not homemade) solution is the Matrox TripleHead2Go DP Edition, but this solution only gives me a max resolution of 4080x768 (3x 1360x768).
Unfortunately I dont believe that would be enough to satisfy me needs.
