View 1 RepliesMy MBA is giving me a startup blue screen now and it never gets out of it. Based on what I read, this seems to indicate that the hd is gone. I'm thinking about replacing it with a SSD HD.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am wondering which SSD is the correct choice to go with. I can spend around 250USD for the SSD and I want it to be compatible with OSX. I read some forums about trim and garbage collection but I am not sure which models come with those features and which one of them are supported by OSX.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 13" MacBook that I purchased in Feb 2008, and need to do some presentations from it, so I'm looking for the correct VGA adapter for it. I believe there was some change in the display on the Macbooks, so I'm sure if the current MiniDisplay to VGA adapter sold at Apple will work for fine.

I am looking to upgrade my ram to 8 GB on my 2010 17inch macbook pro. Looking at macmall I found this:
[URL]
Now it says it is compatible with the 2009 but is it also compatible with the 2010 models? They don't seems to have any memory that states it is compatible with the 2010 models but the spec seem the same (not sure in the 2010 model memory is a 204 pin or not). If this is not compatible, can someone point me to a location where I can buy 2010 macbook pro compatible ram.
So I have home videos on my MacBook that I want to view on my TV. I have two - one is Phillips, and the other is Sony (I would rather connect it to my Phillips TV though).
The method I've tried is:
--> putting the video on a USB, connecting it into the Side Port on my TV, and trying to play it (it doesn't show up, and I'm assuming it's because it is the wrong format of movie? I've tried researching what formats are accepted by Phillips and Sony, but it seems I have the right one, so I gave up on that method).
--> connecting the actual MacBook to the Computer using an HDMI cable - but that's slightly awkward because its only a very short cable and the TV is mounted on the wall.... (and I don't particularly want to hang my laptop from the TV!)
Is there any "nice" way of connecting my MacBook to the Phillips TV - and being able to hear and see the video on the TV screen, and not the Mac screen? If so, could you please point me in the direction of where to buy this solution?

How can I tell if my mid-2007 Macbook is USB 2.0 compatible? I don't see that designation when I click on "USB" in the System Information pane.
But I need to buy an external hard drive, and the ones I like say they're USB 2.0 or 3.0.

I'm looking for a good ergo keyboard and mouse for my new work laptop, a mac book pro. I tried the split keyboard and don't like it. My preference would be a curved keyboard - currently using a Microsoft for my dell. Also looking for a joystick mouse - currently using a 3M and love it but it will not work on my personal mac.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a mac book for about a year now. My husband and I are expecting a little girl in about 2 weeks and are looking to purchase our first camcorder. I know that with a mac and wanting to use imovie and idvd you cant just go out and get any ole camera I am not really computer savvy and we are really just looking for something to capture the birth and special moments nothing professional. Don't get me wrong I want the best quality that I can get... just cant pay an arm and a leg.
I really want something user friendly that is very compatible with imovie and idvd where I can just plug it in and it works... you know I dont want to have to do anything complicated to make it work!! I have been researching and it is so confusing b/c the list that apple gives you apparently does not hold much weight seeing as though there are cameras on there that DONT work with macs. our price point is under 400$ hope someone can help oh and do you know if being an HD camera, if you have to film in either all SD or all HD to transfer the footage? and What is the point in having a HD camera if after u transfer the footage and edit it then burn it to a DVD and it will be in SD.
Is .txt, .exe, and .doc compatible with Mac OS? Does RapidShare manager work on Mac OS? Does .avi work on Mac? Are there any Video players on MAC OS, like AllPlayer, Vplayer, Media Player Classic on Windows?
View 9 Replies View Relatednew Samsung Plasma television and have not been successful in attempting to connect my MacBook Pro to it. Here's what I've done thus far. I'm not sure of what the port is called on my MacBook, but I regularly use it at work to connect to a separate monitor so I know it works. I believe it's some type of DVI port but I know it's not a mini-dvi because I initially bought a mini-dvi adapter and that didn't fit the port. But I've got an adapter that plugs into that port, and converts to DVI. Then a second adapter that converts DVI to HDMI. Then I have a HDMI to HDMI cable that connects to my tv.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two Macs right now - an iBook and a new MacBook. I bought two Kingston 1GB RAM slots and put them in my MacBook and they're working great. Now I have two 512MB RAM slots that I'm not using.
My iBook has one free slot, so my question is this: can the RAM I took from the MacBook work in the iBook? I don't have the iBook around for the time being (it's at a friend's place), so I can't check it myself.
I'm going to sell the iBook, so I thought it would be nice if it had some more memory.
The day I bought my Macbook Pro 13" 2.53GHz I replaced the HDD to Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB, but since then I face lagging while watching videos or even doing anything, I hear the HDD clicking and lagging for a second (I guess its compatibility issue with the HDD!! or Maybe Mac OSX is buggy?). I am planning to replace it with a better one.

After 2 or 3 months of not being able to access Bank of America's website using Safari 10.7.3, and being told they're working on the problem, tonight BoA told me finally to use FireFox or Chrome. I explained to them I didn't want to use anything other than Safari on my MacBook Pro and that I had no problems 3 months ago, why now? Technical support provided no answer and continued her statement... "use FireFox or Chrome." I requested a switch to paper statements and she told me the only way to do that was for me to access it from the website... using FireFox or Chrome for Mac OS10.
