Mine sounds muffled on the left when compared to the right speaker.
Its very noticeable when you play around in your balance settings (max left or max right) that the volumes are different.
The tower speaker just doesn't cut it and I want to hook up my 5.1 Locitech speaker system. I couldn't find any Mac sound cards on newegg and am having trouble finding results anywhere else. What card is recommended by most Mac Pro users? My professions isn't in audio so it doesn't have to be perfect, just something to play games, music, and movies.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a 2.1 Logitech Z4 setup, and the sound is only coming out of the left speaker. I have checked the wires, they are fine, and both speakers do work - but it could be the socket that's the problem. It's plugged into the line-in socket, I have put the output in System Preferences to Headphones, and everything is inserted correctly.
What do I do?
EDIT: My sound system is plugged into the headphones jack. I have tried putting headphones into the headphone jack and the sound also only comes out of the left earbud.
We're hunting for a small printer for a crowded office space. There's a not much desk space or shelf space.
Only need something to print. No scanning, faxing or other functions! Hoping we can get Canon that is compatible with the inkjet 40 and 41 cartridges as we already have a printer that uses those.

Before I go and stick this tiny little dvd I have into my macbook and get it stuck in there...what size dvds/cds does the macbook superdrive take? I know the nintendo wii will take the smaller cds/dvds but does the macbook take them?
I know not all slot loading drivers are created equal, but will they work the same way?
I am a high school student who has a reading problem that use audiobooks and i would like to know how good the speakers are in the 13" MBP.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was listening a video on my MBP and everything was working fine. I then put my headphones away when I decided to listen to something else so I was what the heck I will just use the speakers but it seems as if they are turned off or something. I keep trying to put the volume up and down and it just comes up with the speaker picture with a circle and line through it. I looked up at the volume in the bar and it is grayed out at fun volume. When I plug in my headphones, the volume turns black again and allows for adjustment.
Did I accidentally turn off my speakers? How do I turn them back on or fix this? They were working totally fine earlier today but now they are not.
I currently have an early 2008 MacBook Pro hooked up to Harman Kardon SoundSticks ii. My cat is the biggest... well.. she knocked the soundsticks over and they broke. I am asking for advice on a new audio system that would sound great with my Mac. As of now I am leaning toward the AudioEngine A-5s.

i've been thinking of downgrading from my 17" to a 13".the 17" is great, when you actually sit down and start using it.but to carry around, kindof sucks. not because it's too heavy, just too wide.but is the 13" too small? personal opinions for those who own it?i'm going to go to the apple store and try it out for a little while, but even then. extensive use in a home environment and such is a lot different than using it at the apple store.so, owners of 13". do you love it? or do you wish you went with 15" or something
View 24 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Mac book, it's a 13". The battery life is phenomenal and the trackpad is luxurious. However I find it really difficult to see the text on my screen. In the browser this wasn't a problem as I could zoom in, but the text in the address bar, and in all other applications the font is very small. I looked into changing the DPI for my Macbook and couldn't find a solution. I'm zooming in to see things but it looks distorted and obviously horrible.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen using iChat or Skype, only one speaker (R) works. I was told that it was designed this way to save battery power and bandwidth and that it was originally designed this way when most users were on dial-up isn't this called designing for the lowest common denominator?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently started re-using some Logitech Z-4i's with my MacBook. I used these speakers earlier in the year, and they worked well. I use them again, and they are not working well.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI am heading a strange sound from my speaker, sounds like an application is causing it. I check the logs and I dont see any errors. a good method of tracking down the error? Is there a log file for system sounds or do I have to kill each application one by one and wait 2-3 mins between application kills to see if the sound comes back.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthe speaker is on the right side. Does this make the mono sound sound unbalanced? Why not put it in the center?
View 5 Replies View Relatedtoday I noticed that my speakers have a buzz/hum sound coming from them. The speakers I have are the Logitech X-240 with a subwoofer. The speakers are hooked up to the subwoofer, which is hooked up to a sound base that is connected to my MacBook.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm really starting to get sick of my uMBP 17". This will be the second time that I need a replacement machine. First time I had a faulty logic board and now my right speaker is severely distorted and I'll be taking it into the apple store in about an hour. I never had problems like this with my first gen MBP 17" and I'm sorry to see that Apple quality is going down.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a non-unibody, early 2008 MBP. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but there's some sort of debris buildup in my speaker grille. I've tried using a vacuum cleaner attachment, compressed air, and even tape. Any ideas/tricks to getting the speaker grille's clean. Or do I have to deal with it?

ANy one know how to rectify this?
im on a 17 in i7 ag 500gb machine.
i use skype everyday but i just noticed that the sound from skype is coming only from the right speaker. its weird though because any other sounds from skype, like alerts, come from both. all other sounds are fine on the comp. i tried looking through the settings and nothing is there that i saw that could fix this.
Look at this picture[URL]the upper case, there is a black covering on the speaker grills. Is that a covering under the speaker grills to prevent liquid/small objects from getting in? I spilled some thick liquid (evaporated milk) on it and scared that some got it but would be more at ease if there was that black covering. I have applecare so can i get them to check it out?

My sound works fine at first, then I plug in my headphones and sound still works but when I pull out my headphones I lose sound in headphones and speakers on my 13" MacBook Pro. Only a reboot (as far as I know) fixes it.

I am using Macbook Pro 13'', Mid 2010. Three days ago I attempted to connect the my macbook with an external speaker. It worked, but unfortunately, the setting remains at Digital Out. I first tried plugging my headphone, but I get this static voice, or sort of distorted noise (while playing no music of course); when I played music with my headphone on, I could hear my music along with this static or distorted noise. When I change the settings to Use audio port for Sound Input, it uses the internal speaker to play my music with no static or distorted noise. I have confirmed that my headphones have no problems. Â
Next I tested the sound on bootcamp window xp. The sound was working perfectly, headphones were working perfectly. Â
The only problem is when I use mac. When I attempt to increase the volume or decrease it, there would be a speaker symbol with a stop sign at the bottom. Whenever I play an audio and put the headphones out, there would be a red light but will disappear if im not playing any music. Â I have tried the toothpick trick and the headphone jack trick. Both fails.

The speaker and audio in/out isn't working. Me and my friend were recording music on garage band and got some mic feed back. All of a sudden the speaker and audio ports stopped working. Is it something I can fix on my own or do I have to take the computer into apple and get it fixed.

When I either receive or place a FaceTime call on my MacBook Pro, the left speaker cuts out audio and produces high static. The right speaker is fine. The receiving end can also hear the static feedback, but their two speakers work fine. I have all my iOS devices setup to receive and place FaceTime calls (iPhone 5s, iPad, and MacBook Pro 15 inch late 2011). If I place or receive the FaceTime calls on my iPhone or iPad, there is no problem.  I've tested the speakers, youtube, iTunes audio, streaming websites, netflix, etc... and all works fine on the MacBook Pro. Just FaceTime. I also went into system preferences and the speaker setup is correct (audio in and out - internal speakers). I've also restarted, reinstalled Yosemite...still FaceTime left speaker problem.

When the screen on my MBA is closed down the rubber edge on the bezel around the screen does fit tightly on the left side, but on the entire right side, there is as small gap between the rubber edge and the base of the MBA. At the rear right the distance between the bezel and the base of the MBA is one milimeter and since the rubber edge takes up less than half of that distance, I'd say the gap is at least half a milimeter. Does your screen fit tightly all the way around or is a small gap normal? I'd think the rubber edge not only avoid metal against metal, but it will also prevent dust or dirt from entering the screen / keyboard / touchpad area when transporting the MBA.
