MacBook Pro :: For Adobe CS5 Which Mbp Should I Get?

Jun 10, 2010

I'm getting a Macbook Pro and I'm not sure which one to get. It will not be my primary machine as I have a custom built i7 Win7 rig so I will be using it when I want to use mac software and when I'm out and about. The 17" is ruled out because of portability and cost and so is the i7 15" becasue of cost. I'm not sure if I should get the 13" 2.4, 13 2.66 or the 15 i5. I'm a web designer so I will be using most of adobe CS5 (Dw,Ps,Ai mainly). Will the resolution on the 13" be good enough? Will I notice a difference between the 2.66 and the 2.4?

OS X :: Using MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo And Adobe Cs5?

Jan 9, 2011

I own a G5 desktop (2004) running CS3 and MacBook Pro (2006) 15.6" 2.16 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. I want to upgrade my CS3 to CS5 but can't on my G5 since it is PowerPC, so I want to try it on my Intel based MacBook Pro instead. I can upgrade the memory to 3GB, but wanted to know from other users out there if Adobe CS5 will be super slow or could even work ok with my laptop? I'm trying to save a little money and time before purchasing a new intel desktop.

MacBook Pro :: Can't Open Adobe Programs

Feb 10, 2012

I recently replaced my hard drive and still have the old one with all my Adobe applications. Both hard drives have the same OS and the applications worked on the old one until I replaced it.

I tried to reinstall the Adobe applications and before I can I get the message:

"Adobe Illustrator 13.0.0 [k] (Universal) cannot be opened because of a problem."

without getting the option of installing an update. I also tried to copy the programs from the Old to the New HD with no luck

MacBook Pro :: Adobe Flash Not Installing?

Apr 13, 2012

I recently removed Flashback Malware from my computer. I used Flashback Remover [URL] to detect, quarantine and delete the malware. I've since tried to reinstall Flash, but to no avail. I've tried downloading it from the adobe site directly, then installing it. It says the install was successful, but when I go to a site that uses flash, I'm directed to download flash.

Before I found the malware on my computer, I tried moving my plug-ins ("/library/Internet Plug-Ins" and "~/library/Internet Plug-Ins") to a separate file on my desktop to test which ones may be corrupt. Maybe this changed the path or the file for my plug-ins? I don't know, but I'd really like some help. All of my software is up to date, according to Software Update.

PowerPC :: Macbook Pro 2.33 Versus Powerbook 1.67 With Adobe CS2

May 28, 2007

I did a quick google search but I was hoping someone here would have more links or real world experience.

With CS3 now, I'm considering an upgrade from my 15" powerbook 1.67 to a macbook pro 2.33. However, I would have to keep my Adobe CS2 for probably a few months longer before I can afford the upgrade to CS3..

Would the 2.33 + 2gb RAM run the same or faster than 1.67 + 1.5gb RAM even with a non-native program like Adobe CS2?

MacBook :: Glitches On Adobe Flash Videos

Feb 8, 2009

I've never really had a problem with my macbook, but for the last two weeks or so, I can't watch any Flash videos like YouTube. It'll work for about fifteen or so seconds and then the whole thing will start skipping and the whole computer acts choppy. Firefox (or Safari) CPU usage spikes, and the computer gets really hot. Then I'll have to wait for a minute or so for the macbook to cool off before I can use it. I've tried downgrading from Flash 10 to Flash 9 -- no better.

OS X :: Adobe Webpremium CS4 On Latest White Macbook?

May 10, 2009

The specifications required for CS4 on a Mac are:

Mac OS

* PowerPC G5 or multicore Intel processor (Adobe Soundbooth requires a multicore Intel processor)
* Mac OS X v10.4.1110.5.4
* Java Runtime Environment 1.5 required for Adobe Version Cue Server
* 1GB of RAM or more recommended
* 11.2GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on flash-based storage devices)
* 1,280x900 display with 32-bit video card and 16MB of VRAM
* Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
* DVD-ROM drive
* QuickTime 7.4.5 software required for multimedia features
* Broadband Internet connection required for online services*

If I got the most recent white macbook with an adjustment of the hard drive to 250GB it would have a resolution of 1280x800 does this mean CS4 would not run on a macbook? Does anyone have a macbook with CS4? How is the performance?

MacBook Pro :: Why Won't Adobe Reader Show Text

Apr 3, 2012

I am working for my eagle scout rank and in order to do my service project, a form must be filled out on the computer as a pdf. I started the PDF on my old dell, and i downloaded Adobe reader for my mac to finish it. For preview, it takes the lines of the paragraph and overlaps the words, rendering it unreadable, and for adobe reader, the words are invisible unless editing those words. when the text box isn't selected the words disappear.

MacBook Pro :: Adobe InDesign Crashes When Trying To Print

Apr 12, 2012

I use Adobe CS4 regularly. I could print fine from all apps in CS4 until yesterday when I tried to print from InDesign CS4 and the app crashed. All other apps in CS4 print fine, as do all other apps.  I've attempted to create a new print preset and also tried to edit the printer default, but InDesign crashes every time.

The only things I've done differently (or new) was to test a new antivirus app (Anti-Virus Software for Mac Protection | Kaspersky Lab United States) and also to download and try out the new Firefox 11. I also created a couple of pdf files in InDesign (as I've done dozens of times with no problems).
