Mar 25, 2009I am a big rugby fan and like to listen to my team (tigers) play when there not on TV. However this requires real player. Having had a bad experience with this program in the past I am reluctant to install it again. Is there there any plug in I can get for os x and vista so I can listen to the radio without installing real player?

Mar 3, 2010My sound doesn't work when streaming radio, but only for radio! I usually listen to BBC Radio 1 via their homepage, but suddenly yesterday, the sound disappeared. I tried various other radio streams and they all failed too. All other sound output, ie. youtube, Itunes, DVD player, online games etc work fine.
Would anybody know what's going on?

I use a very old G4 500 MHz powermac to listen to iTunes streaming internet radio, but more and more stations are switching to AAC streams, which the old 10.3 compatible version of iTunes doesn't support and won't play them. The current version of itunes' minimum system requirements is a 1 Ghz G4, so I can't use the current version of iTunes. If I upgrade this machine to OS 10.4, will I be able to install a version of iTunes that plays AAC radio streams?

However, today I was plugging my external speakers in, and when the connector was about half way in.. I started to hear audio that I knew wasnt on my computer. Turns out it was commentary on a college basketball game. I started to listen some more, and discovered that it was 1530am. Seeing as I use just a standard set of 5.1 computer speakers... I found this to be extremely odd, so I figured id share this with everyone.

1) Bluetooth is ON:
I can't turn it off. The checkbox is inactive.
But I can turn it off, if I choose "Share my internet connection for other units". (I don't know, if this is the right text in english, because my OSX is in german)
2) Now Bluetooth is OFF:
But I can't turn it on, because the checkbox "ON" is inactive.
It turns only on, if I choose "New Unit"(?). Then there is a new window, that says, that this is only possible if Bluetooth turns on. If I say OK, bluetooth turns ON.
Back to 1)
What's the problem. Why is this f* checkbox for turning bluetooth on and off inactive?
This is not a hardware problem, because I can have stable bluetooth connections.
I did a smc and am pram reset. But it doesn't help.

Sep 4, 2010have in the past few weeks uprgraded from tiger to leopard.Everything has been ok but i think i might have deleted some vital part of Quicktime player when i tried to clean up.I only realised this when i decided to get Quicktime player pro which i have paid for and have the key..I have tried to download quicktime from apple support website and just about any other website for that matter but zero.zilch.Installer takes me through the process but i get no player.
I have tried to remove all components of quicktime but to no avail.the download intalls but goes nowhere.Have tried to maybe 'jumpstart' it by double clicking quicktime time movies but there is just nothing going on.

Oct 20, 2009Hi so I just got a new macbook pro the other day and am having some trouble. My school has streaming lectures I need to access but they are in wmv format. I have downloaded both flip4mac and vlc but neither seem to work. Quicktime will either tell me that it cannot open urls that begin with "mms" or give me "osstatus error-19160". VLC media player gives me an error message saying your input can't be opened. The url begins with mms and ends with a .wmv. I don't want to have to use windows through bootcamp to stream the lectures if I can help it. To access the website and each individual video I need to enter in my username and password on the website and then into windows media player on a pc, I'm not sure if this makes any difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Jun 30, 2012Yesterday, I bought an hdm cord and adapter so it would fit into my MacBook Air. I also bought a separate speaker system. When I set it up, it worked perfectly. I had to disconnect my MacBook and when I set everything up, it did not work. I could see my MacBook's background colors on the TV, but the video would not stream. I could see it on my computer, but not on the TV.
