I am using a MacBook Pro 13" (Mid 2012) and I have a DVD-R and I have a .avi file that I want to burn on this DVD. I want this DVD to work on my Mac, PC and my DVD PLAYER. How can I do this?

I have a playlist that I burned to cd. Worked in my car but not on my friend's cd player. All of the files burned as mpeg. I guess that is what my import settings are set to. I know how to change this in preferences. I don't know which file is best to choose that would play in about any cd player. My choices are mp3 encoder, wav encoder, apple lossless encoder, aiff encoder, aac encoder. I am burning it to a memorex cd-R, 52 X 700 mb.  iTunes  11.1.5.Â

I take it i allow it to encode. Then hit the burn button, let it burn, eject, put in my DVD player, hit play, sit back and watch?
Does my standard Mac Mini (with Tiger + iLife, dvd-r burner) have all the s/w required to do this OR do I need to buy something extra?

When I transfer an avi movie onto a usb flash drive from my PC it works fine in my Divx player but I seem to have a problem when putting the same movie from my mac onto the usb key. The Divx player does not read the usb key?
Also, which "forat" should I use in the disk utility when erasing (formatting) the flash drive (i.e. MS DOS (FAT) ... MAC OS Extended ...) ?
As many know, burning a dvd on a mac and playing it back on a dvd player dosen't work. You have to convert it to a different codec. My question is, what methods and apps do others here use to do so. I have several conversion tools and a Phillips dvd player.

i dont know where my windows xp cd is for my pc so i downloaded it off of a website. however i do still have the paper with serial key so i can install it. the file that i downloaded was a .daa file but i dont know how i am supposed to burn the thing. i have Toast Titanium and burned with the data option and the .iso option but both did not work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got an OWC Mercury Pro external Bluray burner that came bundled with Roxio Toast 11 Titanium. I'm editing with FCP6 as part of FCS2 and my version of Compressor is 3.0.5 so no "Share to Bluray" template is part of the default options.Â
The default Compressor options are:
DVCProHD 720p24Â Â Â Â (the footage was shot and edited using this codec)
HD DVD H.264 60 minutes
HD uncompressed 8-bit or 10-bitÂ
I've also considered exporting a Quicktime .MOV file and letting Toast do the compressing.Â
I have been using Titanium to burn DVD's. It usually takes about the length of the actually DVD to finish the burning process. Is this normal length or is there a faster program for burning DVD

Now when I try to view a .wmv file it says that I do not have Quicktime player, which I do. I have to open the file via Quicktime & searching for it in my downloads folder. Have looked at the settings & appears to be OK....

To play wmv files I downloaded Windows Media Player for Mac. It came in a .bin file. Which I extracted using unarchiver it produces a .sitx file. Which I again tried extracting but it shows an error saying this file cannot be extracted with this program. I downloaded WMP from two three sources but got the same file so same issues. And I don't prefer flip4mac as everytime you try and play a video it starts importing which takes time.

I export multiple .mov files with certain video stream and mpeg layer 2 audio stream inside, using MPEG Streamclip/VLC/FFMpegX. However it turns out that the sound part is not playbak correctly inside QT player. Is QT player not supposed to playback this kind of file? BTW, I'm on OSX 10.7.3, Quicktime player is version 10.1.Â

I just installed Adobe CS4 which includes Flash Player 10. Since then, my QucikTime does not pop up and open stream audio file automatically. Instead, the Flash Player opens the file within the safari 4. Is there any way that I can make QuickTime Player become the default player for this type of file?

Some of which I would like to be able to burn to a DVD for personal use or to give to family and friends. My problem comes when trying to burn a certain video file formats to a DVD, one especially that will playback on a standard DVD player. The types of files I am interested in converting to DVD-playable are: .m2ts, .avi, .mp4, .mpeg, .mkv. Again, I would like to convert these movies, then burn them to a DVD to easily watch them on my home theater system's DVD player. View 1 Replies View Relatedhave in the past few weeks uprgraded from tiger to leopard.Everything has been ok but i think i might have deleted some vital part of Quicktime player when i tried to clean up.I only realised this when i decided to get Quicktime player pro which i have paid for and have the key..I have tried to download quicktime from apple support website and just about any other website for that matter but zero.zilch.Installer takes me through the process but i get no player.
I have tried to remove all components of quicktime but to no avail.the download intalls but goes nowhere.Have tried to maybe 'jumpstart' it by double clicking quicktime time movies but there is just nothing going on.

Digital movies play just fine on my camera, a NIkon Coolpix but once I import them to either quicktime or windows media player they do not play smoothly. Any ideas why or what I can do to correct this?
