I have moved my photos off my old Toshiba laptop onto my iPad, now I want to import them onto my MacBook Air, but when I sync or import the photos on my iPad it only imports the photos I have taken on my iPad not the folders saved onto my iPad.
Since either the new OS or iTunes version, I have no options on syncing music from my computer to my iPad. I want to add playlists I already have to my iPad. Old ones were there but I cannot figure out how to do it manually.
I have seen that several people have experienced this, and one 'solution' is to delete the album from the iPad and then move it back from iTunes. However iTunes will not let me move the album again onto my iPad. Why not? (I am having to use manual moving rather than syncing because I have another iTunes on a PC, and the iPad seems to have attached itself to that.)

I am attempting to transfer photos from my iPad to my Mac Air. These photos were downloaded from 2 different cameras but my problem is that not all photos are moving across to the Mac Air. Is the only solution to go back to the source and download again from the cameras or there an easier way?
I have a little problem with Iphoto. I imported like many photos into Iphoto, it created an event and now I want to organize the photos in my event manually (and only in my event, not in any new iphoto folder or so, and without like renaming the photos manually). In presentation / organize there is a button for "organize manually", but on all the computers that I have at home, that button is grey so I can't click on it (and therefore it's impossible to organize the photos manually)
I have a mac book pro with mavericks and i have my ipad mini with all its updates and my air drop on my mac does not read my ipad! do i have to do something special to make it work?
When I put the photo disc in the drive, my iMac will read it if I go and open it with the Finder. However, iPhoto does not prompt me to import the photos like it does when I insert a memory card. How can I get those photos from the disc into iPhoto? Also, how do I eject the disc when I am done?
I hope this possible but I need to edit the photos on the iPad and if I make a mistake and go back I cannot go back get the pictures they are gone I think. I just want to go through the pictures and they are about 2500 pictures once I done I would resend back to the iPad.
I received my iMac 27" i7, 8GB RAM with the ATI Radeon HD 4850 Graphics Card.
All was going well (well-ish. Got the 27" yellowing fever, but i'll worry about that later) until I tried to import photos from my Nikon D700 DSLR Camera.
I plug the camera into the computer as I have always done with my previous mac but the computer doesn't mount the camera so I can import things. I tried importing with Nikon's Tranfer Software, Adobe Lightroom, and iPhoto and none of them recognised the camera.
I know the camera isn't the problem because I can still import from the camera to another iMac ('07 or '08 model i think).
The computer that will import is running the latest version of Leopard, with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. My 27" is running the latest version of Snow leopard.
I can't import my photos from my iPhone using iPhoto. I used to plug in my iPhone and iPhoto would open up automatically and ask me if I wanted to import my photos, but now it won't do that anymore. So, I open it manually and sometimes my iPhone shows up in the program, but now it doesn't even show up anymore. It showed up yesterday but it said I had no photos on my iPhone, (which is wrong being I have over 300 ready to import).
I tried updating iPhoto but the only update is for iLife 09 and I don't have the money for it, (nor the want). I also looked in iPhoto's preferences and there wasn't anything relating to importing from devices.
My iPhone is recognized by iTunes, and I am able to Sync it, but iPhoto won't even acknowledge it currently.
Right now, I'm going to update my iPhone 3G to the current update and see if that helps iPhoto recognize it.
why Aperture is creating doubles while importing photos? Within Aperture, the events only show single pictures but there are 2 copies of the same photo displayed within finder. Example:
-DC101010.jpg -DC101010 (1).jpg
Some findings:
Happens on new files never imported and on files I've imported before (creating new events the 2nd time and unchecking "do not import duplicates") Removing the file with a "(1)" in the name does not affect Aperture...The 2 files are identical in dates and size, with preview showing the same picture.Creating a new test library and importing did not fix the problem
-Aperture 3.5.1 -OS X 10.9.4 -iMac

I used to think it was my imagination but I checked last night and I have files that appear darker when imported to iPhoto than they do when I open the original in Preview... what setting can I change to stop it doing this?
I am seriously annoyed about an otherwise excellent application: I just imported a couple of pictures from my camera into iPhoto using the Image Capture app. I sometimes like to do it this way to review the images and movies before importing. Now I had serious problems on two occasions:
1. There was a raw file on the camera, which iPhoto couldn't process, of course 2. Apparently I closed the Image capture application too soon - after I did so, iPhoto complained about not having enough storage space, although there's more than enough space on the hard drive
Regrettably I had the "delete after import" box checked. Meaning, my photos are gone now! Or, are they? Where does Image capture put them and will they still be there? If not, where can I file a bug for Image Capture?

I am fairly new to the world of mac's and I'm having a problems with my photo's. On my old windows PC I have 1000's of photo's. When I right click on a photo in windows and go to 'details' it will tell me the exact date and time when it was taken. So if I then import them into some library software such as picasa, it sorts it them all out by this date. However, I've now copied all my photo's to my new imac and the 'date taken' field doesn't seem to be there. When I import them into iphoto or picasa etc, they are totally messed up and all over the place.
Why did OSX loose that data? I will try to explain a little better using screenshots. This screenshot is from windows: [URL]. At the top is says 'date taken' and any windows photo library software will sort it by this date. Below are the properties of the same file after it's copied to osx: [URL]. It contains lots of information about the picture but not when it was taken. So software such as iphoto or picasa sorts it by it's created date (which you can see at the top is Monday 12th January). Why isn't OSX carrying over the exif data on when the photo was taken?
I have a new MacBookPro using Max 10.6 and IPhoto 8.1. I am trying to import photos from my old computer (a 2007 MacBook) but IPhoto is quiting unexpectedly.
iphoto froze after importing while deleting photos from card. Then when i force quit, the photos were not on iphoto and were also deleted from memory card. what can i do to get photos back?
I chose to sync all my iphoto photos to my ipad and itunes started optimizing them to fit the ipad with the result that my hard disk became almost full. Where are these optimized photos stored/ how do i delete them?
I am planning on buying an ipad2 soon. How do I transfer all my photos from my old G4 powermac to the new coputer. The photos are all stored via iphoto on the old computer
Just purchased iPad2 and setup with someone else's laptop. I now have about 600 photos in my photo app that are not mine. How do I.delete these images.
Since day one of owning my iPad 2 and even after updating to a newer version of itunes, itunes freezes up.On my Mac Pro Tower in the iTunes main window under Devices I select my New ipad 2 in the itunes main window. Whenever I click the Photos tab itunes on the far right away from the Summary tab I get the spinning ball of wait.I check the Activity Monitor and iTunes is at the top in red (Not Responding) %CPU 200.1.I have tried throwing out the many suggested Ipod Photo Cache folder in the iPhoto Library and restarting and still if I try to choose the iPad folder I get the spinning ball.I have an iphone 4 which also has a Photos tab and it will open the Photos tab just fine.

I've taken a load of photos on my phone and have placed them in an album within my photo stream, they are now showing up on my iPad but not on my mac which is where i really want them. I've tried turning the wifi on and off again, I've tried turn the devices off and on again. nothing is working! all i want is my work backed up.
Also, is it possible to share an iTunes library between my MBA and my PC so I can sync my iPad and iPhone without having to create a new library? The library file is currently on the NAS and just wanted to use the same one. Would it allow me to sync my iPhone with the PC and the iPad with the MBA using the same library on the NAS? I know this is more of an iTunes question, but figured I would post it here instead of starting another thread.
