How to setup the Safari (browser) to able play all the video on youtube? On Screen: Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available.

I have a hand-me-down G3 iBook 14" running Tiger. It works pretty well, of course, it's not as nice as the newer stuff.
Anyway, whenever I watch a in-browser video from CNN (since their site was redesigned), it plays very stuttery, even on a LAN connection. I noticed that their videos use Shockwave, which I updated, but it's bad. I don't have any other problems with You Tube or other videos.
I know this thing isn't a powerhouse, but a 800mhz machine with 640meg of RAM should be able to watch a video in a browser, right? It runs DVD's full screen with no issues.
Does anyone know how I can download this MP4 video? I tried double clicking on it in the activity window, but it just opens it again in a Safari browser.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem for a long time of videos on certain websites not playing on my MacBook Pro. I have the latest Lion OS update as well as the latest Flash update. I never have a problem with Youtube and most video plays fine but some websites, like for instance, news sites will not respond. I get a black screen with no controls or anythiing. Now I am having this problem with a site called MailChimp. I use FIrefox but it will not play in either Safari or Chrome.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden I am getting choppy video playback on web content from any site using any browser. I have searched and searched every online forum I can find. The problem most say is old machines that are not Intel proccessors. Another problem described is RAM. And another is the Flash player plug-in. I have a 2008/9 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1gHz MacBook, with 4Gb RAM! And over 20Gb of space left on my 320Gb hard drive. I do not see why there would be any hardware problems here. I have also uninstalled the Flash plug-in, properly and completely. I have reinstalled it too and according to the Adobe website it is running properly. I also use MacKeeper and everything according to that is running efficiently. The last time I completely reformatted my HDD was less than a year ago. My battery is old, but it still manages to last for about 3 hours, so I'm guessing that's not packed up just yet either. why my web video is still choppy? The sound for a video plays out just fine, but the video freezes and then starts up again a few seconds later. Some browser it's better on one day and worse the next. The same is true for different websites. But it is almost never smooth.

I have a macbook pro running 10.4 on it, and ever since I've restarted my computer yesterday (it was starting to slow down a bit, but its better now), every time I try to load any kind of streaming video on any browser, it crashes. Not hang, but your average annoying run-of-the-mill "crash reporter" crash. I've cleaned up all my caches, private data, etc., same for the system, I've checked for viruses, I've reinstalled the browsers, and the flash player and a few other things I can't remember right now. One thing that has occurred to me is that this has occurred no matter what browser or company that created the browser software (like mozilla). Could there be a plugin thats interfering with the software?

It works on other people's computers, and I can go to any other webpage just fine, but this one site just won't load. It won't load whether I'm using Firefox, Safari, or whatever. I tried repairing permissions, emptying the cache, deleting cookies, and turning the computer on and off. Still no luck, but it's just for those sites (and just my computer, as my neighbor can see the sites fine).
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems whenever I launch a youtube video, there is a tremendous lag that occurs for a good 30 seconds before my video is able to be seen. It completely locks up my browser and freezes. Thought it was my iMac at first, buy Firefox works fine. I reset everything on Safari and still nothing.

I'm on OS 10.5.8. I just updated safari and java. Now when I open safari, I cannot get a browser window to even open. Not by trying to open a new window or going into my history and opening the Apple page. This is really frustrating since I hate Firefox (Way slower than safari has ever been for me) and now I can't even use Safari.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter igniting a hailstorm of controversy over its intent to drop HTML5's H.264 support from its Chrome browser, Google has reaffirmed its intent to push its own open WebM video codec via Flash-like plugins for Internet Explorer and Safari users. The reason: Google wants to ship free platforms without incurring external licensing fees. Google's Mike Jazayeri detailed the company's new push behind WebM by writing in a detailed blog posting that the groups involved in developing the HTML5 video distribution standard "are at an impasse. There is no agreement on which video codec should be the baseline standard

Occasionally my friends and I go to tinychat to do a multi-person video chat. Usually when i click "broadcast" there are many video options and I choose the one that has myself on it. It usually says something like "USB camcorder" or something with USB in it. However; the other night I tried to go on, and it wouldn't let me. I noticed that the video options had gone down to about 4, and the one with myself was called "Built-In iSight." I have never had this option before, so I clicked it. the green light next to my camera flicked on and then off. You couldn't see me. Was it something I did? All the video sharing websites do this; however on my photobooth and ichat it works fine...

my dvd drive has just stopped working, it used to make a horrible clicking noise when a cd was inserted and then work fine ( it always made that noise, i just thought it was ok, now, im not so sure!) then a few days ago i inserted a dvd and nothing, no noise, and it didnt recognise there was a dvd inside. the eject button done nothing. i had to tilt my macbook and tap it a few times till it fell out.
i ran tech tool, and it says my video ram failed.
I have a vizio hdtv and I have hooked up the video with a hdmi cable adapted to the mini display port and that is working fine but I cannot send sound through it or idk how to. So i bought a optical toslink to mini toslink cable to send audio form the laptop to the tv but the audio still doesn't work. The laptop says that it automatically recognizes it as a digital output.

I am using Mac Pro Mac OS X 10.5.6
2 x3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
12 GB 667 MH DDR2 FB-DIMM
ATI Radeon X1900 XT
Dual displays
20 " display

I must say there are no specs on Autodesk website for mudbox for mac and video card.I would have thought my video card would have been sufficient, but it is apparently not. So I am asking what others have. Have you upgraded? anyone trying the nvidia Quadro FX4800? It is a shame that I would have to step away from the Radeon graphics card.I thought it might need an update in its driver but there is no update on the site. So what are the options?I have a call into the media at AMD to see if there is something that can be done with the card that I have.I sure hate to have to review it and say.Take out the Radeon card.I am open for suggestions and comments on this subject.
Had issues with videos suddenly not working on Safari, but working on Firefox. With my limited tech skills, finally figured it out & went to Adobe and downloaded a new version of Flash and that seemed to fix it. Dont really understand why it stopped working overnight when I hadnt manually changed anything. (I always hear iphones dont play flash video so does that mean all these websites I was trying to access wouldnt work on an ios device? That seems crazy to me...It was a wide range of websites and videos)...

I have read about this issue before, and I know it is a major problem with this model iBook. When I turn on my iBook nothing shows on the display, just sound, and when it does work, there is just a fuzzy picture. Pressing on the area where the video chip is(left armrest) fixes the issue, but only if I hold it.
Someone said to put something in the case to apply pressure to the video chip, and this worked, but only for a little while before the same thing started happening again. What I need is some repair place that will fix this for cheap, also maybe "clean up" my iBook a bit, it's kind of dirty, missing the bottom bumpers, and missing some screws. What do you think it would cost to get this fixed and cleaned up?
Video Zoom says "Not Permitted" for some reason? Anyone knows why?
View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since I upgraded to Itunes 9.0.2 I cannot tag handbrake m4v video files with new artwork. Is anyone else having this same problem? If I try to drag artwork from safari to the artwork tab it doesn't do anything. If I drag the artwork to my desktop first, then into the artwork tab, it drops the artwork like normal but after I hit OK the the file's artwork reverts to the screen shot from the beginning of the file. If I then go back into the file info the artwork is gone. It's as if Itunes is rejecting the artwork. I have tried this with several different video files and several different pieces of artwork and no luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue where certain flash sites don't work properly, they just sit there loading and never actually do anything.
The vast majority of sites work just fine, youtube, google video, gamevideos.com, the escapist, etc..
But some sites such as [URL] simply will not play the videos.
In addition to that, [URL] will not work either, but there I at least get an error message stating that "flash local storage is not turned on". In this case I've tried to load the flash manager and turn it on, but after changing it and going back in, it seems that my changes were not saved and my local storage is stuck at 10k max.
The exact same sites work fine on my friends PC using my wireless connection.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall flash with no success.
I've tried both firefox and safari, neither work, but the flash stuff seems to be global on the machine, so I suspect it's more of a problem with the flash than with a specific browser.
I've even tried to run firefox as root, install flash as root, etc thinking that it was something to do with not having permission to write to wherever flash was trying to store stuff.
I've got Firefox 2.0.0.14, OSX 10.4.11, and Flash 9.0.124.0 installed.
I suppose I'm most concerned about pandora.com, but I think the video issues may be related to the "local storage" error I'm getting aswell.
Recently I am unable to see video on youtube. I do hear the sound of the video but the screen remains black.the same videos work perfectly on google's chrome on the same mac.
