Is there a keyboard command that will take me to the top of the next page in Word 2011 on a MacBook Air? I can creep up and down the existing page using Fn + right/left arrows. I can go to the top and bottom of the file using Fn + Command + left/right arrows. I want to go to the TOP of the next page (Page Down) and googling isn't turning up anything that works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use "Ctrl+Shift+Eject" to shut off my iMac screen (not shutdown) usually before I go to sleep, but recently, I've had to hit it 5 or 6 times before it actually turns off the screen. It also happens when putting the computer to sleep pressing "Option+Command+Eject".
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know the terminal command for toggling on/off the System Prefs for Keyboard & Mouse? I'd use it for an Automator workflow or Quickeys shortcut. The specific setting is "Use all F1, F2, etc keys as standard function keys." I and many other Cinema 4D users find ourselves needing to turn this on and off all day long, because the app uses that F8 key that the new Aluminum keyboards have coopted, but using it means losing our speaker volume / mute settings. This is in Tiger btw.

For no apparent reason the command-space keyboard shortcut no longer works for opening Spotlight. I go into the preferences for Spotlight and it shows no keyboard shortcut, I make it command-space again, exit, and it still doesn't work. If I go back into the preferences, it is blank again. What is going on?

i have a 2010 15" MBP 2.66 ghz i7, with 4 GB ddr3 1066 ram, 500 GB 7200 rpm HDD, and the nvidia GT 330 M gpu. I tend to get down around 30 MB of ram when i am running Starcraft 2. I do not understand what pages in and pages out means. Before i started SC 2 it was like 50k + pages in and 0 pages out. After running SC 2 for like2 hours i have 150k+ pages in and 100k + pages out.I am pretty sure i just need to add some more ram but i would like to know what these mean so i can better monitor my system.

Is there a way to skip to the next page, instead of the command above which only scrolls down so far, and I wind up looking at the bottom of the first page and the top of the second. I'd like to know if there is a command similar to the "Next Page" button in the toolbar on Acrobat so that when you do it, it puts the next page (in it's entirety), front and center in the window. Holding the Option key down and clicking on the Scroll Bar (down) arrow is the closest thing I've found, but Word (being Word) still wants to show me the bottom of the previous page. I don't want to see a 1/4 of the last page and 3/4 of the next page.

I have been working on a template where I have placed a two column table on the front page, left side being for a graphic for a letterhead, and right side column for text.
My problem is that on the second page, I would like the document to continue on without any table. I would like for the text to flow from the table into regular margin document on the second page. Is there a way to do this?
Problem Description:
1. System prints PDF files very slowly, about 50 seconds per page, a text only page. Sometimes will just continue sending data to printer as indicated by flashing green light on printer – does not stop sending and printer does not print. Problem also present when try to print PDF files as sent by others over internet (eg TD Bank statements).
2. Unable to cause double sided printing using IMac – no problem with PC.
Trouble shooting:Took the same one page text only file that was very slow in IMac, transferred to PC using a memory stick – connected printer to PC using same USB cable – page starts printing in about 1 seconds – no problems.No difficulty in printing Word files other than no double sided. Think the problems started with OSX Yosemite upgrade and the companion Safari upgrade. Auto update for software is on and no new updates. Old drivers removed and new one installed Tried Apple internet chat to resolve problem – was unable – the user forum indicates others have had difficulties with printing PDF files.

I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

I have a title page, a table of contents, and then the body of my document.
I have created a section at the bottom of the table of contents. Then in the footer, to the next section, I have tried to insert page numbers. BUT it routinely adds page numbers to the bottom of the first section as well. SO I have page 1 on the title page, page 2 on the table of contents; then I have page 1 on the first page and so on.

when i print more the 2 pages after each page the printer take out 2 blank page and than stops (i have to press its bottom to make it pull the next paper)
if i don't press the bottom or sometime in a middle of the printing page i get an error "the process usb stopped unexpectedly with status 81"
after a while the printer stops and i have to make it start again
I currently run Safari 5.1.6 on an iMac with OS X 10.7.4 and no matter which page I designate as my Home Page, Safari ignores this and on start-up always opens the last page I was on.

I have been reading a few things on this board and have found that page ins/outs can have an effect on performance (although I'm still not entirely sure what it all means).
I have closed all my applications except for my browser and the activity viewer to see what is going on. My page readings on the system memory page state:
Page ins/outs 182139/247702.
I have read somewhere that if you have more page outs than ins then you have a problem. Therefore my questions are:
a. Is this actually true and what do page in/outs actually mean?
b. I currently own an eMac 1.25ghz with 512 RAM, running OS 10.3.5.
I signed out of Safari then signed in again. Now the bookmarks for the AT&T - Yahoo page do not display on the page. Other bookmarks are intact. Do I have to reload them?

In Safari, I am no longer able to print web .pdf documents. The print screen pops up, however the preview document shows a blank page. I am able to print in Firefox, so this has to be a Safari problem. I have checked my Internet Plug In files and there is no Adobe plug in as suggested by others in similar questions. Turning on/off the computer has not helped either. Nor has Open PDF in Preview. I'm using an iMac with Lion and an HP Photosmart C4700 printer.

using my white macbook, everytime i fire up safari it opens the last webpage that i visited, eg facebook or the login page of my bank account.
i have checked in preferences pane - ensured that the new windows and new tabs open with "homepage" and set the homepage field to [URL]( i even manually typed it in and selected "set to current page" to make sure it was ok ). then i go onto facebook, quit safari, re-open it and .. it's the facebook page again!Â
i reset safari and this has no effect. it didnt always used to be like this, just recently.
ps - so i used no capital letters, i broke my shoulder last week
I used to just closed my Mac instead of pressing the shutdown button; I tried this time but I cannot shut it down anymore, also my keyboard cannot control the volume or turn on the keyboard-light. Also I remember there is like a back-up shortcut (or something like that don't know what is it exactly named) consisting of three keyboard button.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my friend was using his MacBook and went to do something else. He came back and the screen was black, he hit space and nothing, tried the trackpad and nothing. He restarted by holding the Power button, and it go to the log-in screen, but he can't type anything, or use the trackpad. He has tired restarting several times and no luck. He also tried an external Keyboard/Mouse and that didn't work.
He did plug in a Flash drive and the light turned on, so the USB ports are at least getting power, but nothing is working.
I was reading through some of these discussions a while ago and came across a command that will cause the processor to become extremely active and use up the full 100% of its power.
I would like to ask for this command so that I am able to test the full performance of my system.Â
