Mac :: Scam Macbook Pro On Craigslist?

Jul 31, 2009

I'm in Hamilton, ON now (relocated for work) but overnight shipping is included in the price, UPS or FedEx, and insurance/tracking is also included.
If you use eBay I'd like to do it that way, so we're both protected and can exchange feedback later. You will be covered by $2000 buyer protection
and get 90 days money back guarantee.I just need your name and eBay ID, once I set it up with eBay they'll confirm it with you and then we're good to go, even if you don't use eBay now I can set it up.

MacBook :: Buy APP From Ebay?

Aug 12, 2009

I bought the UB macbook last november. Now I am thinking of buying APP for my macbook. But the issue is, APP costs Rs. 13000 ie ($274) in India. But in ebay it costs around $125 to $140. My question is, can I buy the APP from ebay and use it for my macbook. Also let me know the issues that I might face regarding APP when I buy it from other country. FYI, i bought this macbook from Hongkong, by which i saved around $290, coz the same costs $1660 in India, due to hefty taxes levied on it.

A scammer is targeting MobileMe users with an email purporting to be from Apple. The email (below) appears to come from no[URL], and looks fleetingly like something Apple might send, although the outdated graphics come from .Mac marketing materials. Rather than directing users to login to their actual account at me.com and enter the SSL-protected accounts detail area, the phishing email links to a fraud site at [URL]

MacBook Pro :: Legit Applecare Seller On Ebay Needed

May 8, 2010

I thought my apple care one year expired on June 10 but it expires on May 10th. Which gives me only a couple days to get it. I am not near any physical apple dealers, I drove 2 hours today to buy one from a classified and it was for a 13 inch not a 15 inch, I am so upset. and today was the only day I had to find it.
I have to buy the code so I can do it online. I was going to buy it from one of the sellers on ebay but I read how there are scams out there. Can anyone recommend a legit seller who they have purchased apple care from and had no issues. I called apple and tried to buy the code but they have to ship it and it won't make it in time and there is no grace period.

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: Block Phishing Scam Emails In Mail?

Mar 21, 2012

I was wondering how do you block phishing scam emails from Mail (which I thought was full proof for this kind of junk emails)? Because quitely frankly the ones I'm receiving are irritating me largely because they're from banks I don't even have accounts with, also they're about internet banking which I don't even do. I've tried marking them as "junk mail" and then deleting them from my trash can in mail. This doesn't seem to stop me from receiving them?

Software :: Review Scam Leads To Removal Of Over 1000 Apps From App Store

Dec 7, 2009

Apple has taken action against app developer Molinker over alleged review fraud, resulting in the removal of all 1,000 of the company's apps. Thanks to the detective work of one intrepid app store enthusiast, Molinker - developer of close to one percent of all the apps available on the App Store - has been banned from the App Store and all of its apps have been removed. The issue was first brought to light by photo blog iPhoneography in a post highlighting the concerns of one of its regular readers. Reader SCW had concluded that app developer Molinker had been using its promo codes to write fake 5-star reviews of many of its apps. Each review shared the same short, disjointed style and the reviewers had only written reviews for other Molinker apps.

PowerPC :: Mac Rev C On EBay - Rev B Delivered

Jul 3, 2007

I ordered a Rev C Powermac 2,3 GHz 2GB RAM and got an Rev B 2,3 GHz 2GB RAM deliverd... Slower RAM and a Radeon 9600 128MB instead of a Geforce 6600 256MB (I never play games) I bought it for 1250 What should I do? send it back or ask the seller to give me some of my money back and if so, how much? Why I purchased the Power Mac: I have a 12" Powerbook 1GHz and it's still geat for email and webbrowsing but it started getting slower. Actually I stoped working with iMove iDVD because it was so slow. I have also a 19" LCD a mouse and a keyboard which I hook up to my powerbook so I thought is would be a good deal to get a Power Mac from eBay and use it with the monitor...

Mac Pro :: Buying A Mac Pro On Ebay Is A Bad Idea?

May 28, 2009

Does anyone think the Mac Pro will get any changes at WWDC?

I am in the market for a new Mac Pro. I have settled that I do not need 8-core power. I found a good deal on eBay and not sure if its a good idea to buy one off of eBay when WWDC is less than 2 weeks away. Anyone feel there will be a speed bump, case redesign, snow leopard?

If snow leopard came out, does anyone know if Apple includes free upgrade for new systems from a certain date?

Any advice on whether buying a Mac Pro on ebay is a bad idea? Does Apple take PayPal receipt for eBay purchase as a valid proof of purchase? I've never had to provide a receipt for my Macbook Pro even though I did buy it at a true reseller.

PowerPC :: PowerBook G4 - EBay And PayPal

Jul 15, 2006

I'm not sure I'm posting to the right forum, but I figure I'd start here. I am interested in selling my Oct. 2005 Revision PowerBook G4 (1.67 ghZ 15") so that I can upgrade to a MacBook Pro before I leave for college. The easiest and most cost efficent way to do this would be through selling on eBay and using PayPal to accept payment. However, sites such as PayPalWarning.com have really given me the willies about doing it this way. I really am in no mood to have my reputation tarnished and my account left in significant debt while some fraudster buyer has my PowerBook and my money. Does anyone have any advice? Are these rare instances or are these common stories, in your experience? Is there a better way to sell on eBay, or the computer in general? I have a price in mind for what I want for it, and thus eBay or an equivilent seems the best way to go, rather than a resale shop.
