Mac Mini :: Ir Remote And Bluetooth Not Working / Result Of Bad Repair?

I have a late 2009 Mac mini that I bought in March. 2 weeks ago I tried to use an apple remote with it and it would not work. Apple change the IR board on the mini. After 10 days I picked my mini up from the apple store and I noticed 4 marks from when they opened the mini. Ripped aluminum gouge marks on the bottom of the case, the back of the case by USB port does not line up anymore. I brought it to there attention but did not make a big stink and left. I have open a few mini's before (not this one)and know how it is easy to mess up.
When I got home I tried to use my bluetooth devices and they would not work, I tried the magic mouse, track pad, KB. I called apple to trouble shoot and they said I have to bring it back in for repair after 20 minutes of trouble shooting.
I think this is a simple question, but I don't understand the technology here... Does anyone know if there is a bluetooth remote that would work with a MacBook? I want to be able to contol iTunes from another room without getting up.
I am using OS X 10.3. The apple menu doesn't work (for the past few months). When I click on it it's highlighted but doesn't pull down. I can not quit applications even if I use keyboard shortcuts (I have to force quit).
I tried starting with "safe boot" and I ran "Verify & repair disk permissions" but it didn't fix it. Any ideas?
My Mac Mini has started showing the spinning rainbow and then not responding. I'd like to wipe the HD and reinstall the OS that came with the system (no DVD). Can I do this?

i'm having alot of problems since i got this mac pro and the first problem is fan sound:

second problem which is now the ram slot 2 (The Lower) isn't working properly, every time i run the computer it gives me that gray screen and tells me to keep holding the power button, but when i removed the ram slot 2 it works properly with only the upper slot ram, and to check the problem source, i switched between the upper and lower, and it worked properly but with out adding the upper slot in the lower space, so i knew that the problem now is 100% from the logic board.... right or is there an another way?
I have some music on CD's I'd like to Rip to my itunes library. In my old Mac I'd pop it in the CD drive and hey presto. But with the Mini I have to share my wifes MacBook Pro to use CD's on the Mini. The only problem is that I cant seem to Rip from the shared drive. I could rip the music into her collection but I think I'll run into all sorts of problems moving it to the mini and then onto the iPhone and iPad. Any thoughts on how I can rip from a remote drive?
I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...

I am unable to use my OS X disks to boot from. The DVD drive tries to read and then ejects them. Blank DVD's can be formatted and written. The text below is what repair disk reports: ACL found but not expected on "Applications/Utilities". Permissions repair complete
I got a mac mini back in february, i think it has a 1 year warranty on it but the thing is i bought the keyboard seperately so im afraid i may need a new one if i cant fix this. Yesterday my right and down arrow keys stopped working. I checked under them and they look perfectly fine, they just dont respond.
I just realized that the mini does not come with an Apple remote! That kinda sucks. Did you guys just order the apple one for $19 or did you get something better?
I've recently received my refurbished March 2009 Mac Mini. I want to use it as a media center and have an harmony remote that I would like to use to control it (mostly for boxee).My problem is that I can't seem to find a way to pair my remote with it. Let me explain.
So I launched Logitech Harmony Remote Software and added a new device, the Apple Mac Mini. I then updated my remote and finally updated my remote.Now, I have a macbook pro and a mac mini. Without pairing anything, I can effectively control the sound on my macbook pro, but not on my Mac Mini. Yes I've checked in the system pref in both machines, nothing is paired and I do not have a real apple remote.
If I use the pair function, it does pair with my macbook pro and keep controlling it and still does nothing on the mac mini (expected).If I unpair it then close my macbook pro and use the pair function near my mac mini, it still do not want to pair.My question is, aside from bringing it to the apple store to get it checked, is there a way to test if my IR port is working on my mac mini?
The inline remote control in my iPhone earphones is not working anymore on my MacBook. I can adjust the volume but can no longer change the tracks / play or pause.This is on my Mid 2010 13" which was working fine before the upgrade to 10.6.5.I don't think I'm alone with this issue as I've seen a post on this on the Apple discussion boards
I recently bought and started using the universal dock on my MBP with my iPod. I'm trying to figure out how to make the remote only work on the iPod, or mac, and not both. I tried syncing it to the dock and while my MBP was off, but it still works on both at the same time.
Been lurking around the forum getting some good ideas. I recently picked up a Macbook Air Rev A 1.8/SSD (couldn't resist at current refurb prices).
Anyway great machine but for one thing - I am trying to do a clean install but the remote install is not working for me via wifi or ethernet.
I have connected my old macbook to my MBA and I can see the dvd install disk. I successfully go through the whole process of restarting the MBA (holding the option button), the startup disks appear and I can connect to my home wireless network, I select the dvd install disk and click on the arrow button and my MBA restarts. However, it then does one of two things - restarts and goes to the desktop or there is a kernel panic attack.
Basically I don't get to the next stage where you select your language and go on to partition the drive.
I have both Remote Login and Web Sharing enabled on my Leopard Macbook. When I try to SSH to it (from the same network) it just hangs, without ever asking for a password. Web Sharing says it can't find the host, even from on the Macbook itself.
For the record, Screen Sharing and File Sharing are working fine.
I just bought a brand new MBP from the Apple Store today, 17" one. I had an iMac, and did a transfer via Firewire of all my stuff to the new MBP. I then wiped the iMac clean and reinstalled Snow Leopard and moved it to my parents house. However the Apple Remote I had with the iMac, which was paired with the iMac, will not work with the MBP at all. I tried going into System Prefs on the MBP and pairing the remote, no luck. I tried turning off the infrared receiver in the same settings pane, no luck. I tried popping out the battery of the remote and put it back in, no luck. I then tried my girlfriend's Apple Remote (which is paired with her MacBook 13"), no luck. I turned off the infrared receiver in her MacBook to make sure it wasn't interfering or whatever, still no luck. Neither Apple Remote will work with my brand new MBP. Does it have a broken infrared port u think?
I absolutely cannot get the iPhone remote app to work with itunes for whatever reason!it's driving me crazy never had any issues on my old macbook, its defo on the same wifi, i can ping it etc, I'm faily handy with OSX and the like as i'm a software developer, so I know it's not a firewall issue and the phone is on wifi.
it just doesn't pop up to let me enter the code in iTunes under devices when I'm trying to register the Phone with the machine,for the record the phone has been synced with the itunes library in question and I have clicked the forget all remotes button in iTunes prefs, and the 'look for iphone remotes' box is checked so I've pretty much done everything bar uninstall itunes is that really necessary, is it worth deleting the itunes prefs file??
I'm attempting to log in to my MacBook remotely using ssh, and it isn't working. I've looked all over the internet for a solution, and I haven't found one, although iI think I've determined that other people are having this same problem after upgrading to Mavericks. I did recently upgrade this MacBook to Mavericks, but I never tried remotely logging in prior to upgrading, so I don't know if Mavericks is the problem in my case.Â
I'm using a mid-2010 13-inch MacBook, which I've recently upgraded to OS 10.9.3. I have not set up a static IP address with my ISP. My firewall is currently disabled. I've gone to System Preferences -> Sharing, checked "Remote Login," and selected "Allow Access" for "All users". I then note the IP address listed, where it says "To log in to this computer remotely, type "ssh myusername@1.2.3.4" (obviously, I made up that user name and IP address).Â
If I then open up a terminal window on my local machine and type "ssh myusername@1.2.3.4", I am indeed able to log in using my password. However, if I ssh out to a remote machine somewhere else, and then attempt to ssh back in again, it doesn't work. Specifically, I am prompted for a password, but when I type the correct password, I'm just prompted for a password again. So I type the correct password again. But then, without even so much as an "incorrect password" message, I'm booted right out for excessive failed login attempts.Â
I notice that each time I check the "Remote Login" check box, which I believe starts the sshd daemon, that action generates four error messages in /var/log/system.log, all of which have this form:Â

I am trying to set up my external HD with my Airport extreme and make it as my time machine so it will back up without me having to connect the HD every time. I tried this and the HD does not appear so i can select it and choose it for the Time machine Drive of choice. What do i do. I have seen others can do this but i do not know why i am unable.
my external hardrive has decided to stop working! It just wont appear on the desktop, disk utility doesnt see it nor does system profiler register anyhting being there. Its a Taurus Raid II external hardrive with two Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 500gig harddrives in it.
I've tried all of the ports it has on the back as well as plugging it into a different computer made sure that the power souce is legit. Where am i going wrong?
I have a MacBook that is about 3 years old now. It came with an Apple Remote (the little white one). If I were to buy a new Mac Mini would I have to buy a new Apple Remote, or would the remote that came with the MacBook also work with the Mini?
My goal is to by a mac mini that will run 24/7 it will be connected to about 5TB's of storage that will have all my personal data on it. My goal is to create an FTP server that will host all these files that I can access remotely and let friends and family access it. I pretty much have it all sorted out I just wanted to check with some people on here. To run it I will be using a program called PureFTPd to manage the server and I can create accounts and manage them all through this application. Does anyone have a better way for me to do this or an alternate application that is better, And also I have connected to my mac book pro remotely using the built in FTP feature and PureFTP so yer, Does anyone else have a better idea for me running a server?
I have a Mac Mini (2011) and a MacBook (2006) I want to use my Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 CD on to my Mini using the Remote Disc option. I put the CD into my MacBook and click all the options and follow the instructions from the Apple Support 'MacBook Air, Mac Mini: How to use Remote Disc to share DVDs or CDs from a Mac or Windows-based computer' When I click Remote Disc on my Mini the MacBook shows up and when I click on that, the CD shows up but I can't open or copy the CD onto my Mini. I keep getting an error message which makes no sense. Â
Incase it was my MacBook (2006) running Leopard was the problem and it being to far behind my Mac Mini running Lion I used my mums Windows Dell Laptop which runs Windows 7 and again, followed the instructions. Same thing, same error message, which I was expecting because I know how Mac hates to open .exe files. Â
I don't know what to do to solve the problem, can it be solved? Is my MacBook and CDs just to old to copy and install on my Mac Mini, would a MacBook Pro 2010 and Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 solve the problem? I'd like to know before I save up and splash out any money. The error message says something like it's not supported even though we downloaded the updates the support thing suggested doing if we needed too and something about it can't read it because it's not there or you need to have it installed previously, well how could I have installed the on the Mini if CD it never had a CD drive, where else would I have got the programme from, I haven't found a downloadable version of Office Word or I'd have done that already, by the way, if you know where a full programme download is available?
remote disc has worked previously between my daughters MacBook and my MacBook air, so I was not expecting any problem with my Company supplied Dell 420.
The Dell has a remote disc drive, and I suspect this could have something to do with the situation, but would like to know if I am right.
Basically my Air has no problem detecting the Dell and as soon as I "ask to use", the dell will show the pop-up, and I can confirm or accept that my air is allowed to use the disc drive of the Dell.
My Apple Remote recently stopped working with my iMac and I cant figgure out how to get it to work again. I've changed the batteries and I get a blinking light when I hold it up to the iSight camera. It was paired with my mac, but didn't work, so I tried unpairing it and re-pairing it, however, now it wont pair again. It worked fine untill about a month ago, then just stopped working.Â
Recently I had a issue with my macbook pro so I had it repaired at the Apple Store(problem with the display). They replaced the logicboard(2nd time in 4 months) and the battery. Now after taking it hope and plugging in my external speakers into the headphone jack I get this weird thump sound. It happens twice and I'll watch the audio strength at the top right. Each time it goes from like it's working to a gray color as if it's not or locked. If I try to play something like music with the jack in my entire screen freezes and I have to restart my computer entirely for it to work. Btw there is no red light in the headphone jack. The last time I had the logic board replaced it was a sound problem.
