i have big problem with my Imac bought on february 2012 . It's almost difficult to wacth youtube videos and movies on streaming.I have lag on video and sounds interruptions also if the movie is totally uploaded .... I can't understand why .i read that i'm not the only one ...
My MB Air with Lion and the latest Flash player won't play videos embedded on the BBC news web page. I have tried on Safari, Firefox and Crome and it doesn't work on any of them. Videos stream just fine on a Windows 7 laptop.
This will be easier if you know my setup, so here goes:
Computers: Mac mini (not a new one) (10.5.6) Dell XPS 410 (Vista Home Premium) Dell Studio 540 (Vista HP x64) Router: Belkin N+ (4 gigabit ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n) Connection Type: Mac (AirPort to the router) XPS 410 (Ethernet) 540 (N+ USB adapter) Other devices: PS3 (a few more, but they're not relevant).
Here's what I want to do. I want to stream some video, maybe music, from my mini to the PS3. For free. I was thinking since the PCs can connect to the PS3, that I could use one of those a catalyst.
I would like to know what the lowest processor speed of a PC that you can watch streaming videos thru the net that keeps up with audio and video at the same time.
I may be using the incorrect terminology, but videos like u-tube, are very slow, to the point of just sitting there, frozen, while it "loads" for a minute or two, then runs for a couple of seconds, then stops to load again, sometimes for several minutes.
I have the small macbook, with SL, 2.4 GHz, 2 GB, 667 MHz. I know this is a standard problem, but there must be something I can do to make it better. I thought maybe the SL would help, but no.
I have been running out of hard drive space and have deleted a whole bunch of files... even deleted all the languages i didn't need from all my applications... about a week ago i freed up around 2GB.... but without saving and downloading anything my free space is now 70MB!! All I have been doing is watching streamed videos and I notice this reduces the drive space as I'm watching it!! Even opening firefox and some websites drops my memory by 0.1MB. I can't find anywhere where temporary files might be so i can delete them.
I never used to have this problem but I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I now use wireless internet through a phone provider and a USB modem rather than my previous WiFi via cable broadband.
Can anybody shed some light on what is stealing my memory when browsing?
Here is the back ground information of this situation. I have a IMAC 21 inch 500GB Hard drive 4 GB RAM, which is up to date with OS X Ver 10.7.3. So my wife loves to stream her favorite USA TV shows via the Internet, considering we are stationed overseas. She pulled me away from the NBA playoffs because she kept getting this error of start up disk full delete files (or something to that effect.) So last week, I deleted about 40GB of old shows that we downloaded and various other files and pictures. Not even four days later the Hard drive is full again, and I think it is from my wife's streaming habit. I went to "About This IMAC", to find out where the memory was being used from and its 377 GB used in a "OTHER", and the rest being utilized from APPS, MUSIC, PICTURES, etc. So next I cleared the history and deleted the cache files and reset safari on both our log in profiles, then logged out and restarted the computer, which did not minimize the Hard drive memory being occupied. Where are those streaming files getting saved specifically, for maybe a manual delete?Â
I have an Ibook g3 700mhz 384 MB and having dificulty watching streaming video for ex. cnn.com or any other. I can watch movies on flash drive and dvds no probs or from harddrive but streaming is very choppy. I know connection is not the issue (I have broadband) and streaming works fine on sony desktop running xp 1ghz with 256 mb ram. What gives?
I can't run viedos on my mac. I donwload plugins and it still won't let me run them. Quicktime won't work as well, so I downloaded Flip4MAC and that won't work.I have Lion 10.7.3 everything has been updated. This has been going on for a while now and I have been ignoring it.
I can't watch videos anymore, on any site (youtube, facebook...). I hear the sound, but the browser (Safari, Firefox, Opera, Chrome) locks in place. I reinstalled Flash Player multiple times. I updated everything there is to update. Still can't watch videos. This happened overnight from March 30 to April 1.
Any time I try to watch a video on any website (youtube, netflix, etc.) it won't load. It is just a black rectangle. I tried refreshing multiple times but nothing happens. Everything was working fine earlier today and now videos won't work.
Very new to iMac, been using Toshiba, Dell, Sony all this time. Usually I just go to [url]... to download youtube videos....but I can't seem to be able to do it now with this iMac....am I missing a plug in?
Two things: (1) I am unable to view YouTube videos, even those I posted previously and (2) videos friends email to me. Does this have anything to do with the recent malware affecting Macs? Do i need to update Java or disconnect it? Is this an Adobe Flash problem?
My old PC broke and I had someone recover the data of the harddrive for me, he told me he would recover the data so it worked on Macs. All the music, songs etc are working, however the videos are not working. The videos are in '.avi' and some are in '.mpg'Â
When I try to open them it says "the document "DOCUMENTNAME.MPG" could not be opened. A required codec isnt available.."Â There is a button that says tell me more, when I press it, it takes me to this page, [URL]which doesnt make a lot of sense to me. Would someone help me open and save my files in the correct format!?Â
Often, when I just put my Mac to sleep, when I wake it up, videos won't play.I have reinstalled Flash, but it still happens.Seems only to happen since the last upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion (11D50b)(Processor 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3 4GB 1333 MHz Ram)
I checked via "get info" that they are opening in WMV but whenever I open one Picasa and photos open and I can't see the attached video. I also can't get rid of Picasa and have followed about 9 sets of instructions on both problems.
how do I get email files video attachments to open without their opening in Picasa?
