I am having trouble viewing pictures through e-mails sent from a friends ipad to my imac. Where picture should be is a blue question mark

Finally updated to LION and I'm trying to incorporate iCloud and it's services. At the moment, I'm attempting to use iCal across the board. I have found it incredibly easy to subscribe to a family members iCloud calendar on my iPhone but incredibly difficult to do the same from my Macbook Pro. The family member uses an iPad and syncs this calendar to iCloud. How do I access this calendar from my Macbook?
This is just a little rant but it really feels like Google makes stuff like this easier to do on my Apple products that Apple does..

I tried to email pictures using my Iphoto and I get a message saying that the email server didn't recognize my username/password combination.I went to Iphoto preferences and change my password but still doesn't work. I can't email pictures from my Iphoto.

I know I must be missing a step somewhere and being a Techie aka Nude it is really an irritant . When I connect iPad to Macbook (10.6.8) and open iTunes (11.4) and go to photos it says:
"iCloud Photos is on. iPad can access photos in iCloud. Photos can be downloaded to your device via Wi-Fi or cellular network"
How do I sync iPad with iPhoto?
Also there is no option in iTunes to sync photos to iCloud!

I use exchange for my work email and the way it functions on the iPad is perfect. Very simple set up and syncing. In OSX things seem more robust, but also much more difficult to get going. What I am curious is there a way to get the mail app to handle exchange webmail like the iPad does?

When I used microsoft outlook for windows there was a setting to automaticlly download pictures in an email. i was just wondering if there was away to do that for Entourage. Macs, and mac software are a new thing for me, and i dont know alot about them yet.
