Intel Mac :: Cannot Connect To Internet - Server Lights Yellow

All of a sudden I cannot connect to the internet. I use both Safari and Firefox and have not been having any problems. My machine tells me that it is connected to the ethernet and I have an IP address and everything else, but it just won't connect. I run diagnostics and the internet and server lights are yellow, not green. There are no proxy servers and I changed the firewall settings to allow all connections. Still doesn't work. My provider tole me to exchange the modem today and see if that works. They say they can see my computer but they can't communicate with it. Is there some hidden firewall somewhere in the OS.

OS X Leopard :: Yellow Lights For Network Diagnostics For Internet And Server
Network consists of a G5, a hub, an Airport Extreme, an Airport Express and one MacBook. The MacBook, tonight, lost Internet.I tried over Airport (full strength to the network, no Internet).I tried plugging it in to an Ethernet cable (still no internet). The G5 has maintained internet.I restarted the MacBook. No Internet. I ran Network Diagnostics, and all but the last two lights are green. The last two (Internet, Server) are yellow. Not red, not green, but YELLOW.

What does yellow mean, and how do I get them green?BTW, the MacBook can get internet off of SOMEONE ELSE'S wireless router (a neighbor), but not our own. I didn't change anything....

OS X Server V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mac Can't Connect To Internet / No IP / No DNS
My Mac Mini Server with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard Server doesn't connect to the Internet. It can connect to the router either via Ethernet or Airport, but it can not get an IP address -- it always assigns itself a random IP address which is not in the correct range for the router. All other devices, including PC, iPhone and iPad can work correctly with the router. When I manually typed in the router's IP in Safari, 192.168.0.1, I can see the router admin page. But typing in any external IP nothing shows up.Thinking it might be the router's problem, I used iPhone 4S' tethering tried wifi, USB, Bluetooth tethering and the Mac Mini still doesn't have any Internet connection.I changed the DNS in the Network preferences, trying Google's public DNS 8.8.8.8, my ISP's DNS, and empty DNS.

Intel Mac :: Connect A Cable To The Internet?
I have multiple problems: a. When I connect a cable to the internet, i am unable to directly login to the internet. I need to go the ISP site, login and then it connects me. I have tried to create some network connections which are not letting me connect directly without requiring a password. PLease note that I have provided the login id and password in the network preferences and created it but unable to login in.

b. Please also let me know how to delete all prior network settings.

I am new to apple and hence only capable of system menu driven capabilities.

More queries later as i set up my wireless.

Intel Mac :: 24" Refuses To Connect To The Internet
I have a early 2008 24" iMac running 10.7.2

It's been working fine on the internet since I bought it. I  installed Windows 7 on it with Bootcamp a few days ago and have OSX and Windows side by side.

Suddenly the internet has completely stopped working, it refuses to load websites on any browser.  There's nothing wrong with my network, I have a MacBook Pro which works fine, as well as an iPhone.

I don't think it's a hardware issue either, since when I boot the iMac in Windows and connect to the Wi-Fi, the internet works perfectly.

It's just in OSX. It says it's connected, signal strength is full. Says it has an IP, apparently no issues but the internet just won't work.

I have already done the following:

Rebooted several times. Removed ('forgotten') the network & reconnected. Removed the Wi-Fi location from the Network preferences panel & re-added it. Rebooted by router and cable modem. Switched wireless channel on the wireless router. Tried sharing the internet from my MacBook Pro via Ethernet. Nothing works.

Intel Mac :: Doesn't Connect Automatically To Internet When Boot Up
We lost our BT internet connection for a few days. BT eventually sorted it out and it was caused by a problem at the exchange.

Before this, the imac automatically connected to the internet whenever we booted up. Now it doesn't and we have to reconnect to the internet each time we boot up. I don't really know the correct way to do this, but what I am doing to connect is to open Safari which then says it can't connect and offers a diagnostics page where I can then go through a process to reconnect. Then it reconnects fine, buty the next time I boot up I have to go through the same process again.

OS X Leopard :: Internet Connect - Could Not Find A Pppoe Server
I'm a mac newbie and am having problems with my new MacBook that I just bought and setup yesterday. When the setup asst is asking questions when I first started the computer, I mistakenly chose connect via pppoe.

Then, when the setup asst ended, I realized my mistake (b/c I am using a dsl connection that I plug in through my ethernet port), went into system preferences--network-- and chose ethernet, using DHCP. Now I am able to connect to the internet and get my mail, but I keep getting a pop-up window called "Internet Connect" that says "Could not find a PPPOE server".

Intel Mac :: Cannot Connect To MS Exchange Server Using Outlook 2012
I am running a network using a Time Machine as my DHCP server and Verizon wireless router. I use Microsoft Exchange for email, etc. For hours at a time, my Intel iMac (OS 10.7.4) will not connect to my Exchange Server using Outlook 2012, and I can not connect to the Exchange server using my browsers-Google Chrome or Safari (Outlook web access).I get errors that the server is not available. If I use another computer on my network, like my MacBook, it connects both through Outlook or Web Access in a browser window.

I have the same problem on my iMac whether I connect via ethernet or wireless. Firewall is disabled, using no proxies, etc... The problem may persist for a few hours or a day at a time and will spontaneously resolve-I have tried changing DHCP settings, etc... The problem occurs for all user accounts, and does not seem to differ if multiple users are logged or just one. The Exchange server address is the only web address I seem to have this problem with.

Intel Mac :: Cannot Connect To Windows Home Server 2011 Shares
I am having difficulties connecting from iMac to Windows Home Server 2011 shares.First of all it takes so long time to discover the share in iMac, which it's called "mediaserver". After finding it I cannot connect and gives "Connection Failed: message. If I choose "Connect As.." option I wait some time and then pops out with an error:

"There was a problem connecting to the server "mediaserver". The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."

If I try from Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server ... write in Server Address : smb://mediaserver it fails. But if I write the IP address, like: smb://192.168.1.42 it works after couple of tries. If I try now to Make an Alias for the share I get "The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -8060)."I have updated to Mac OS X version 10.7.3.

Question:

1) Does the password I mentioned above mean that my neighbors can't access my internet, or are they able to do that and, in this case, I need to set another password somewhere else?

2) If I need another password, how and where do I set it,

IMac Intel :: Unable To Connect To Internet
I have an Imac with OSX 10.6.4 with wireless and ethernet capabilities that is having issues connecting to wireless. The wireless network that I am trying to connect to has a WEP key for a password, and I've heard macs have some issues with the WEP/WPA encryption, so I'm looking for any information I can on that. The error that I am getting upon logging in is that the "Airport has the self-assigned IP address 169.254.7.168 and will not be able to connect to the internet." I'm getting an exclamation point over the wireless icon in the menu bar that says I have no internet connection. I checked my roommate's macbook for the IP address and information and saw that the IP she is getting is different than the one I'm getting. The MAC address she's getting is different too. So when I type in the IPv4 address (under TCP/IP and Configure IPv4), as well as the IPv6 address, the orb next to the Airport turns green and says I am connected to the internet and I'm getting full bars of wireless access. Unfortunately, I'm still getting a "cannot connect to the internet" page in Firefox and Safari. That's why I'm thinking it's a WPA/WEP encryption issue. Something about the encryption is keeping me from connecting fully. What are the steps I can take towards getting connected? Or at least changing the encryption settings?

IMac Intel :: Won't Connect To Comcast Internet
I just bought a new iMac(after not having one for about 8 or so years) and I am trying to connect it to the internet. My previous computer was a Dell connected to an Arris modem (no wireless). When I connect to the iMac, it is saying that the ethernet cable is not connected, even though it is. If I plug it back into the PC the internet works fine so it shouldn't be the ethernet cable. I called Comcast- tried doing the power cycle, resetting, etc. with no luck. Called Apple and they tried as well. They were afraid it could be the ethernet port since nothing would work- so they had me send it back and sent me another new computer. I tried to hook the new one up last night (did a reset of the modem before I did) and still no luck. Called Comcast again and they are telling me the modem looks fine. Does anyone have anything else I can try? Really want to use the new mac

IMac Intel :: Full Signal - Can't Connect To Internet Occasionally?
I have read through the topics, and not sure if my problem is the same as the iMac 27 inch problem, though the solution does not seem to concern my problem Fully connected to the internet via router, never previously had problems, but in the last two months, I have realised that even at full signal strength, I cannot connect to the internet or sometimes, exceptionally slow internet speed. According to the Network Diagnostics, Airport is working fine, joined the router network etc, yet just next to the Internet, it is a red dot, i.e. not connected. ther computers (Windows based) in the house are working fine. When my internet is running slow/disconnected, nobody has downloads running, other computers are running at regular speed/connected, just mine with the problem. At first, when it just started to run slow, I just thought our router network was being used by some outsider/downloads were running, after resetting the router, finding out no downloads are running, I am not sure what the problem is. suspect my Airport is broken? Not sure how, but. Not even sure what is wrong now, sometimes it would connect for five seconds and then disconnect for a few minutes before connecting again and repeatedly do so for hours. Yet it can run smoothly without problems for an entire day. So, anyone else had this same problem before? Any solutions?

IMac Intel :: Turn On Internet Sharing / Connect To Wireless Printer
In my home, I am currently using the built-in AirPort in my 2010 iMac to create a wireless home network so I can share my internet connection (connected to mac via ethernet cable) with various wireless devices in my house (my eReader, handhelds, my guest's laptops, etc.)... I also have a wireless Brother laser printer (HL-2170W) to which I would like to be able print from my iMac via the printers wireless capability (as the printer is on the opposite side of a large basement home office)...

Right now I am able to go in and turn off Internet Sharing and connect to the printer, but it is a pain to due this each time. Can I connect to the printer wirelessly and still broadcast/share my internet connection with my other wireless devices (my eReader, handhelds, my guest's laptops, etc.)?
