Hardware :: Product That Allow To Access USB Devices From Mac?
Apr 18, 2009
Is there a product out there that would allow me to access USB devices from my macbook wirelessly? I understand that there are hubs out there that have a little flashdrive-like thing you plug into the usb on your computer, and then you have access to whatever is plugged into the hub. Is it possible to do this without plugging anything into my computer? Perhaps over the wireless network?
how to make my iphone think it is connected to my home iMac, but I am actually plugging it into my MacBook Pro?
I have a .mac/mobileme account, so all of my messages and contacts are syncing, but I really want to have my apps (and their data) along with my music and videos restored - especially before my long flight home.
I am having trouble accessing my music from all of my devices. My account shows that I have 3 devices that have access, but any music I have purchased on my laptop does not show up in my library on my iMac desktop computer.
How is "access for assistive devices" enabled in OS 10.9.3? I've looked for it just about everywhere in System Preferences. A third-party utility that I use needs it to work fully—and says at startup that it is not switched on.
Info: Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), Late 2013 version of Mac Pro
I recently upgraded to OS 10.7 and now can't find my Time Capsule under devices to access individual files stored on it. The system is recognizing it under time machine and is doing full backups to it, but only the backup portion is accessible through Finder. How do I get back to where I can pull up the contents of the Time Capsule on an individual basis?
I just jailbroke my iPhone 3GS and installed MyWi to work with my iPad. I also tried it on my MacBook Pro using Bluetooth. After I paired my iPhone and MacbBook Pro together everything worked fine. Now under the Airport Menu I see a separate category labeled "Devices" which is just below where my Home Network is.
My questions is how do I go about deleting this? I've tried everything. I deleted my device under Bluetooth Preferences, quit MyWi, messed around with the Network Preferences and it still appears under the Airport Menu. I even clicked connect but of course that doesn't work since I quit everything and deleted the device in Bluetooth settings. It's not even listed under "Preferred Networks" when you click on the advanced tab. It appears as "(my last name) Hotspot" and is under a tab labeled "Devices"
My iTunes sidebar shows that I have two devices are attached when in reality no devices are attached. I delete them and every time I open iTunes, they show up again in my sidebar.
The question is - how can I change/simulate/alter or whatever do, so that my Mac thinks that the device actually has a Product ID of, for instance, 0x9029 instead of 0x9016?
Is it possible to download OSX on a non-apple product (i.e. Dell's, ASUS's, etc) I was wondering this. And if you could, is it worth it (no crashes, or any other bugs)?
I tried to install my coworkers Office for mac2008 0n my new MacBook(my first mac also). This didnt work as he was only allowed 1 user and I needed the business version anyway. So I bought the business version and tried to install it but it still shows up under his product code. When I erased(or tried to erase) all the old office stuff and start again it let me type in my new product code but then 2 install screens later it told me my product code was that of my co-workers?Any ideas on how to get around this? Please go into detail as Im a novice to MAC
I would like to know if Macs are used in Product Design, Graphic Design and Architecture. If you are in any of these industries your comment will be very helpful.
Also I'm a high school student and is planning to buy a iMac or Macbook if they do use Macs in the industries I mentioned above, so sudjestions on which ones would run the programs used in those jobs would be great.
I have needed to use some windows programs and felt that Bootcamp would be the way to go with this. I have Bootcamp Beta, the latest version, penultimate before Leopard. I have partitioned and installed windows and formatted correctly. However, when the time comes to enter the Product Key, the Product Key is 'invalid'.I have since installed XP Pro on a old machine, not Mac, as a primary operating system with the same CD, and the same Product Key with no problems whatsoever.
However I need to make my purchase through my local mac store. I had talked with the manager a week ago when I bought my unibody and he had assured me that I didn't have to wait because if there was a change within 2 weeks he would waive the return fee if I decided to change for another laptop. When I asked if he could note that on my receipt he gave me his card and said that should be enough.
I opted for an email to be sent to me with my activation code. Is it still possible for me to install this on bootcamp? My IMac meets the specs, but I just don't know if I can install Win7 from an activation key.
I just installed W7 Home Premium 64 bit on my MBP through bootcamp and when I had to enter the product key, it wouldn't accept it. No biggie, so I left it blank and finished the install.
I purchased a new Macbook pro( OS Lion) and used migration assistant to migrate my files form (OS Snow Leopard) this worked really well. The only problem is that my office 2011 requires me to key in my product key again. I cant find the disk with the sleeve with the key number on it but the box says it covers two machines at home so I should have no problem. Does any one know how I can find my product key on my snow leopard Mac so I can use office 2011 on my new mac.
I purchased two different Applecare boxes w/service both are brand new. One is for my mac the other is for a client. Only issue is they both came in the same box and have no indication of which is which. Mine is a Macbook Pro and his is a Mac Mini. Both boxes look identical except on one side the numbers are different. Anyway to tell without opening the boxes, as I need his to look brand new?
I (Beginner on Mac environment) just purchased a Mac Book Pro and it is coming. May I know what are the list of software that come with the product? Example, iLife, iWork, etc..
I have the 32-bit Windows Beta installed on VMWare on my MacBook, and I want to install it in bootcamp on my iMac. Can I use the same iso and just burn it on to a DVD and use the samie product key from Microsoft or do I need to download another copy- will Microsoft let me download another 32-bit copy.
I notice people saying to use water when cleaning the screen, well that just smears the smudges. So, is there any product I can use such as Windex, 409, etc, on the screen of my iMac or is my only option the absurdly overpriced cleaners from the Apple Store?
