Hardware :: What's Difference Between Logitech QCP 9000 And Vision Pro Webcams
May 15, 2009
I note that Logitech are marketing their Vision Pro webcam as "for Mac", and yet from what I've seen of the specs, it's just a QuickCam Pro 9000 with a different colour activity light - and of course, the QCP 9000 works on a Mac just like any other UVC-compliant webcam. Is there actually any substantive difference between the cameras, or is it really just a marketing exercise?

I got the mini a few weeks ago and have been struggling to make the Pro 9000 HD work properly on it.
The camera always works. The problem is the mic which works only intermittently one out of ten times maybe.
I did some googling and found other people having similar issues.
So, I reckon this webcam just doesn't work properly with mini.
However, I found that it always works after reseting PRAM. I don't want to do that everytime I power on the mini (not sure if that would do any physicial damage to the ram either).

I am about to move from my maxed out iMac to a 8-core Mac Pro and was looking for some advice from those who have experience with webcams and Leopard OS. I have been researching and found references to USB video class (UVC) and through digging and some links from Wikipedia it "appears" the Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision and Ultra Vision SE should be support, but does anyone on here actually have on and can comment on compatibility?

I just got the vision pro, works fine for what I needed (iChat, skype, etc...) I see that it does 720p, but I'm trying to find an app that will allow that capture? Anyone doing this and can recommend an app? (the packaging recommends BTV Pro, seems like an out of date app)

I'm trying to decide to get this webcam "Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision Pro". But, I'm wondering if it will work under windows if I install boot camp or parallels 4. Why this statement, is because since it is only compatible with Mac will it work only under the Mac OS. So if anybody has it and works in both OS's it will be kind of you to let me know before I jump and buy it.

I need a webcam for my Mac Pro. I'm currently running Leopard but plan to upgrade to Snow Leopard soon. I'm looking at the Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro, but I've read reviews that say it works well in applications like iChat and Skype, but isn't recognized as a webcam by Adobe Flash Player for use on Flash chat websites like [URL] and [URL]. I really need a webcam that is recognized and compatible with Flash Player. Can anyone with a Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro confirm whether it works through Flash player on sites like tinychat or stickam? If not, can anyone recommend a webcam that works well on a Mac for Flash-driven sites like these?

I want to hook up two external webcams to a Macbook or an iMac and be able to display a live view of both camera images at the same time.
It doesn't matter if the live view is a single app showing both cameras or two separate windows, as long as both images can be viewed simultaneously on the desktop.
Can anyone recommend the hardware (webcams) and software I would need to accomplish this?

I turned on my mac tonight to find that the screen has gone funny. there are marks inside the screen that look like water marks. The sound is also not working when I try to play videos. I can hear a crackling sound. it all worked perfectly last night but on shutting it down I updated a recommended software update.

For the sake of the whole mac community , brave me picked up a Xbox Live Vision Cam from a local ToysRUs (299HKD, around 39 US bucks or 45 maple dollars), to see if it really works with 10.4.9 without a hack/driver~~ the whole thing apparently comes with the cam itself (ofcoz), a useless Xbox Live headset & some sort of Xbox Live trial gaming membership card

So i've been using the xbox webcam for skype chatting while connected to my 3-year-old ibook G4 running OS 10.4.9 and all is right with the world... But I'd like to be able to use it with my (much faster) desktop G4 running OS 10.5.6, but no dice. the 'puter won't even recognize it. I browed around to see if it's just not compatible with Leopard but some folks out there seem to think it is.

As the title of the thread says I have 20/40 Vision CORRECTED. I would like to know from Dr's or people with experience which is better? I'm leaning towards matte due to the glare of the glossy. I currently have a XPS 1640 1366x768 and the glare can get annoying! I'm concerned however about the 1680x1050 on the 15" Should I get the glossy slandered then? (lowering doesn't work - fuzzy images) I've been reading the forums like no other The contrast is better for the glossy then for the matte. Is that what I should focus on?

The thing is that Logitech G9 Mouse doesn't have MAC supported drivers provided by the manufacturer and that leads to most of the delicate functions of the mouse not being available. (e.g. Side mouse buttons 4 & 5, DPI changing +/-)
Logitech Control Center (LCC) for MAC does not let you configure it at all of course either. (since it's not even recognised/available)
So after reading a few posts about the matter...it turned out that you "should" normally be able to configure all the mouse's basic buttons (apart from DPI changing) with "SteerMouse".
But even after using that program my Side Mouse buttons number 4 and 5 were not even recognised (using the program a bit urselves should give you a clear idea of what i mean). I even used the "reconnect" button several times (button used for exactly such occasions), unplugged and plugged-in again the mouse, restarted MAC but with no effect...
If anyone knows what could be wrong then i would be more than grateful to hear some possible solutions to the problem.thank you in advance.
P.S. No i m not using "USB overdrive" at the moment and it's 100% certain that it is unistalled completely.

After 2 days of playing around with the new apple keyboard and mighty mouse, I thought, that's enough, and connected my logitech keyboard + mouse.
The keyboard is a big improvement, it has both windows and apple keys on it, and has a lot of extra features, like for example being able to press the 'print screen'. Even the mouse seems to work better, could ajust to the right clicking of the mighty mouse, sometimes it works, sometimes it didn't.
One think I'm still looking for is how to disable the display of widgets when you press the mouse wheel. I tried steermouse, it lets me configure the mouse wheel click as third button, but that doesn't change anything, I tried to run LCC (Logitech Control Center?) but it only showed me my keyboard.
I know how to change the keyboard shortcuts, but can't find the mouse shortcuts?...

I've been using a Logitech G7 mouse w/ USB Overdrive (and now Steermouse). I have an issue with the mouse double-clicking when it's supposed to single-click. It does it randomly throughout the day.
I tried testing my original Apple Bluetooth Cordless Mouse (not the MM), it works fine. No accidental double clicking. The G7, in Windows, does not suffer from this problem. I know the G7 isn't "supposed" to work with OSX, which is probably the reason why it's doing this in the first place, but I have seen other readers install USB Overdrive and Steermouse without issues.
Is there a way to go to default OSX Mouse drivers? Maybe all these installs of 3rd party apps screwed something up. I don't know, just a guess. If anyone has any info on how I could go about fixing this issue, let me know.

I just bought a Logitech MX Revolution wireless mouse for my Mac Pro running Leopard 10.5.6. The mouse functions, but the Control Center application (LCC) does not recognize the mouse, hence I can't program the buttons. I've have tried every combination of uninstalling and re-installing with the same results. Here's what I get when I run the LCC from System Preferences:
I own a license for Steermouse, but you'd think for $80 they'd get the drivers working. Anyone have the same experience and find a solution? I also have a ticket in with Logitech, but I keep getting broad spectrum form responses.

Just got the Logitech Performance Mouse MX. Awesome mouse, if anyone is in the market for one. Fits my hand perfectly.
As many of you probably know, Logitech's Control Center is horrendous. Heck, it doesn't even run in 10.6.
So, what do yall use to program your mouse buttons? USB Overdrive is no longer being updated and I have heard it's pretty buggy, and for whatever reason, I couldn't figure out Speedmouse. I may try reinstalling it one more time but, I was wondering if you all knew of any alternatives.
