Before I pay the extra $300 to go from 128 to 256gb can anyone tell me if the drive is upgradeable? I'm probably going to use it for 4-5 years so if it is I'll just get the cheaper one and wait for the prices to come down, but if its not I'll go with the 256.

Also, what is a good price for ram? (probably two 512s)
Is the ram going to be self upgradeable? I hope so
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just wondered if any one really knows if the iMac GPU is upgradeable? I heard about the CPU being socketed but details about the GPU are sketchy. If it's a mobile GPU, it's normally soldered on or built-in to the logic board.

I know the iMac take part looks hard but it can be done so can the processor be popped out and replaced?
everything's in iTunes Plus now and of the 400+ DRM'd songs I had before, I still have 10 left. After the initial wave of iTunes plus upgrades, I was down to 40 or so. More and more came in until now I'm down to ten. Am I going to be able to upgrade these soon? I see the songs are available for purchase in iTunes Plus...
View 24 Replies View RelatedIvy Bridge, just like Sandy Bridge, supports RAM upgrades all the way to 32 GB. However, Apple seems to be limiting this to 16 GB. Websites like Crucial will sell you a 32GB RAM package for the same price as Apple offers you a 16GB ram upgrade. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Will the Retina MacBook Pro be able to upgrade the RAM separately say after a year or so of owning it? I have heard that the RAM is soldered to the board, but there are also indications that there is an upgrade tab on the top right-hand corner of the RAM card location.

I had asked ifixit support confirmation, and they told me it will work, but from the specs page the block size il 4k and not 512.. (the reason why the 5th gen ipod hd does not work in the air).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a new internal HDD for my MBP soon, so I plan to sell my current Hitachi HDD if possible.
Now before I sell it I'd like to fully format it so that the person whom I sell the HDD to won't be able to retrieve my info. Is the Disk Utility format adequate? What other options do I have?
Also, if I use Disk Utility - which Format option should I choose?
Basically. I have my 15" saying that it is charged with the MagSafe light green. Although, the battery percentage is 96%. Ehh.. Is it supposed to be like that?
Like, not charge if it has only a little bit left to charge? Or is something wrong with my battery or MagSafe?
I have a new 13" MBP (1 week old), and the battery is supposed to be fully charged, according to the battery menu and some hardware monitor app. Well, the same menu says the battery is 95% charged, while the MBP is hooked to the home's sector. What the heck is that ? Last week, the information was consistent (100% recharged).
What is happening here ? Is the battery defective or is this normal ? I'm new to the laptop world, so I need to understand what is happening with the battery.
I have the impression that my MBP still charges when the power lead is hooked into my macbook. Is that true? Do i have to unplug the power cord each time my macbook is charged? Is there any way that the battery life might be affected?
I hope there is some sort of a circuit involved, that stops charging the battery when the battery is full, rather than overcharging it..
I just got a new macbook air, it was working fine for a couple of days until yesterday.
The battery seems to be stuck at 98% - or was. I rebooted because I started to lag, and was updating, then I unplugged it and plugged it back in, then it went down to 97%. What confuses me is the fact it had been plugged in (while shut off), for about 8 hours and it should have been charged by the time I got around to using it. When I right click on the battery icon, it says the computer is fully charged.
G4 won't fully boot, we turned it off for the day, came in the next morning hit the power button and waited while it booted. It got held up at internet services, we unplugged it from the network restarted. It would boot all the way up so you could see the desktop wallpaper but then the black "you need to restart" screen would pop up.
View 1 Replies View Relatedbeen using my mba for a few weeks now and i noticed that even when fully charged and still pulled into the charged the battery percentage still says 99% i have yet to see it reach and stay at 100% while being plugged in. is this normal? i am on my 5th cycle if that matters.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe icons says that the MBA is fully charged at 98%, it is not going further than that.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy macbook is just over three months old, the other day my wireless internet connection cut out on it, but soon came back. Since then Safari is moving very slowly, every other page fails to load or will take up to a minute. To login to a page such as email or facebook is nearly impossible. When i have a page that will not load, the blue status in the url box usually doesnt go past the // in the http://, and it almost never fully reaches the end of the box Ive tried resetting safari and emptying the cache and it didnt help. I also contacted Comcast to see if it was a connection issue, but they found no problems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyway i have a macbook pro. I recently upgraded my router to a belkin. Ever since i upgraded sites like facebook are slow. Facebook still works but when i want to browse photos, the photos never load. It also will never let me upload pics.
It works perfectly on my pc. Also, when im on my mac and i connect to a different wireless network, it also works perfect. So it comes down to my mac and my network.
I have a new MacBook Pro (100% up to date) and when i click links for PDFs, Safari opens up a new tab and the whole tab is a darker grey color and the PDF never displays. I have followed many suggestions of deleting this AdobePDFViewer file but unfortunately I do not possess it. So I downloaded Adobe Reader and installed it. I set it to not be the default and to not open PDFs from Internet. I deleted Adobe Reader and then I found the AdobePDFViewer file and I also deleted that. But I still can not view PDFs in Safari.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy MacBook, "2 days old", from when I purchased it at the apple store says it is fully charged at 99% battery. I just re calibrated the battery last boot. Is this normal?
