I recent buy a dell sp2309w, when I put the bright on 90% or something I hear some buzzing sound on the back... if I put to 100% the sound dissapear? what happend? is normal??

It was just announced a couple weeks ago and I'm thinking about picking it up. The price is right and the resolution / pixel density is outstanding. I know it's a TN panel and I don't want to turn this thread into a discussion about TN v. IPA. But from someone who has bought it, i'm very curious,
The Dell SP2309W 23" Flat Panel Widescreen Monitor with WebCam is only $300, seems to good to be true. Is it a good monitor, in the same league as the HP LP2475w or the Apple 24" LED display?
I can definitely live with the 23" and can't believe it's only $300.
I am getting random (at least it seems random to me) buzz sounds coming from my 2009 2.66 Mac Pro that only lasts for a second. Some suggestions from the other threads recommend that I touch the case when it buzzes but by the time I reach for my MP the buzz stops. I've tighten all the screws in my sleds and pushed them so they are snug in the bay.
Some have thought the buzz comes from the latch but my buzz sounds like it's from the front of the MP. A Mac Genius told me circuit boards can make a buzz sound from electricity going through it?
Others have said the buzz comes from the PSU (power supply unit). Where is the PSU in the MP?
I haven't shaken my MP, which is one of the suggestions I read.I think it might be coming from the Super Drive. I took out the Super Drive for about a week and don't recall hearing any buzz sound.
rgetter recommended re-aligning the ribbon cable (see quote of his post below), but how do you do this? I didn't see a ribbon cable when I took out the Super Drive.
today I noticed that my speakers have a buzz/hum sound coming from them. The speakers I have are the Logitech X-240 with a subwoofer. The speakers are hooked up to the subwoofer, which is hooked up to a sound base that is connected to my MacBook.

I just purchased some logitech 2.1 speakers for my Macbook Pro, and unfortanetly, there is a pretty noticeable hum or buzz coming from the speakers. When I have the volume for the speakers turned all the way up, and the volume on my computer on mute, it's most loud. It's quite annoying.
I feel like I had this problem with my previous speakers (without a subwoofer) but I resolved it somehow...What to do, what to do...

I offered to help out with my friend's spyware-ridden Dell Dimension 5000. I went to his house and reinstalled windows with the original disks and used the driver disks included. Everything works, except he has no sound from his speakers or headphone jack, which had both been working only a few hours previous. Needless to say he is quite angry with me, and I am pretty desperate for a solution. I don't have the computer specs with me, but if some information is needed I can easily phone him to ask.

Also, on startup the brightness is set to max , while my settings was very low brightness. Howcome, its starting with max brightness now, when I dont have changed anything ? And what about the fan sound and speed? And yes, does the iMac has a battery also ? for what? Its always plugged to AC current, then what is the battery doing ? View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever my screen is not turned up to the maximum brightness, a really high pitched sound is emitted from the laptop. If you've ever heard the "mosquito ringtone", that's basically what it sounds like. Really odd. It's definitely got something to do with the screen brightness, and I basically can't use my laptop at medium brightness because the sound drives me a little nuts. Turning the brightness to the lowest setting makes the sound less intense, but it's still audible.

The 2407WFP is a couple of years old now I guess, but it's the rev A04 version, which supposedly fixed the (few) problems with what was otherwise meant to be a great screen. It's an sPVA screen.
I've heard good reviews of the G2410, with its LED backlighting. It's still a TN panel and I hear so much bad stuff about them.
The 2209WA is an eIPS panel which I like the sound of, but it's smaller and lower resolution.
The F2380 is a cPVA panel, the image quality looks better but I've heard bad things about blacks on this panel.
The brightness goes up when you plug in your MBA, but then over time it just goes up and up. I honestly like my brightness pretty low (rarely more than half, typically at 3-5 notches), but it just keeps on going up and up. I almost never set it above half, but multiple times a day, I notice that it looks pretty high and it's at like 3/4 so I put it it down to about 1/3, but after a while, it's just up again.
Anyone else notice this? What is it, why does it do this? How can I fix it? I don't mind not having auto-brightness (even though I loved it), as long as my screen doesn't keep going up.
I have owned this iMac G5 2.1 iSight for over two years now. Recently, a high pitch buzz is being admitted from the computer. This is a problem, as I have very sensitive ears, and it takes away the pleasure of listening to music!

I've tried different equalizer settings, which helps somewhat. Has anyone else experienced a buzzing or distortion in their audio output? It almost sounds as though a speaker is blown.

I have a less than 1 month old White MB. I have become aware of an electronic noise emanating from below the upper left portion of the keyboard, under the q,w,e keys. The noise can be best described as a mechanical mosquito; it is a constant high-pitched buzz that starts once the computer has fully booted up, and doesn't stop until it has been shut down. Although it is quiet, if you get your head anywhere near the keyboard it is readily apparent and obnoxious. It does NOT appear to be fan related, as I can hear those going as well. I have listened to other Mac laptops with equal scrutiny, and this noise is not present.
A simple Google or Apple forum search indicates that people have been noticing this problem for years. Indeed Apple appears to have acknowledged it recently with MB Pros: (URL) I believe it indicates a faulty logic board.
- Have others noticed this with their MBs or MBPs?
- Does anyone know the true source?
- Most importantly can anyone give me some tips with how to deal with Apple on this?
They have suggested I go talk to the store I bought it from. Those guys claim not to hear it (a common theme from what I have read). However, this is highly dependent on the level of ambient noise and hearing ability of the individual. I already had to return one MB that was DOA, and now I have this one. Given the expense of this purchase and the age of the machine I feel that I am entitled to a new one that does not display these issues. How can I effectively communicate this to Apple or my retailer, neither of which will likely want to comply?
Okay, So i have my Unibody Macbook Pro (late 2009) hooked up to external speakers (RCA Home Theater system with a standard audio cable). Everything works fine and there is no buzz or sound except for the music of course until I plug my printer in. I know the obvious solution is to unplug the printer when listening to music but the printer is shared and other people print off of it etc. and I was wondering if anyone knew why this happens.

When the drive is off and the FireWire cable is connected to the computer, I get a "buzz" in the speakers. When I turn on the drive or disconnect the cable, the buzzing is gone? Any ideas?

Removing the charge kills the noise and makes the sound crystal clear again. Doesn't bother me to much, but as my uni-macbook pro is plugged in most of the time I can see this near constant buzz getting on my nerves a bit in the future. Any ideas, looking back I experienced the same thing with my macbook.

I started to notice that it started to act a lil slower than normal when i was surfing the internet. Then a couple of days ago the computer started making like a buzzing noise , kinda sounds like interference . Like when a cell phone gets close to a stereo system. Sometimes the noise will go away and then when i start opening diff app. that use computer cpu the noise happens again. It was just making the noise and i was dealing with it until the computer started to crash. It would look like the screen was on fire and everything would just freeze. I have dual ACD's. How do I make it so that both screens have the same brightness? If I adjust the brightness in the display settings it adjusts the main screen, but then not the other one. How do I make them the same?
I went to Best Buy yesterday and they just got the new imacs in and had on display side by side. The 21.5 display was not as bright and vibrant as the 27 display. The apple and best buy guys could not tell me why the difference. The settings were checked and found to be the same for both machines. I was going to get the 21.5 but now not so sure. I definitely like the brighter 27 better. Is this normal? Why is the 27 brighter? Has anyone else noticed the difference?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis started happening randomly earlier tonight, and I haven't managed to find a fix just yet.I was encoding a video file for quite awhile (I don't think that parts important, but I thought I'd include it anyway) and then I tried to play a youtube video. I noticed there was no sound, so I tried to up the volume using the Volume Up key on the keyboard. The volume visualisation appeared on the screen like normal (albeit a bit laggy), but the sound still didn't change, neither did I get the usual 'click' noise you get when you change the volume.I went looking into the sound options in the system prefs. only to find that the Output Sound device was headphones. For a test I plugged in some headphones to see what happened and, low and behold, the Output Sound device changed to the Internal Sound and my speakers were working again, but only with the headphones plugged in.

There seems to be no loss of performance. I did a disk verify and everything is OK. Should I be concerned?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI just bought an iMac 24" 2.8Ghz Dual Core, 2Gb RAM, 320 HDD. This nice iMac has been with me only 2 days and the problems already started. I don't know why when I play a song either in iTunes or in web(audio streaming) the audio suddenly changes. It's as if you applied an EQ and removed all the low frecuencies and after a few seconds the sounds returned just as normal. When this "auto EQ" happens, the sound becomes "brighter" (I hope you understand what I am trying to say) but just as I said, after a few seconds, the sound is played normaly. I am running Mac OS X v 10.5.2.
