I recorded some gameplay footage using Yosemite's Quicktime Movie Recording feature. The audio is there when I play the quicktime, but when I drop it into Final Cut Pro 7, it wants to render the audio. I render it, but the audio is gone. Any way to have it convert the audio?
Anyone have suggestions? I have a single 1.8ghz g5, 1gb ram, 10.4.10. I have a maxtor OneTouch III USB 2.0 200gb drive attached to it.
I can not seem to eject/unmount this drive. Every time i hook it up I just have to end up pulling the USB plug or turning the drive off suddenly to get it to "eject" but then i get the improper device removal error/warning message.
I have tried dragging to trash, I have tried apple E (which is what I usually do to any device) and I have tried going into disk utility and ejecting/unmounting from there as well. no dice.
I've been looking at some usb 2.0 external capture devices and none of them say that it is compatible with Mac. Is the hardware not compatible or just the bundled software? Can I still capture video and just use iMovie to edit? I have only had a Mac for a short time and am trying to get use to the fact that not everything works with a Mac.
I have 2 wireless night vision cameras which are on two separate channels and have 2 separate receivers (each receiver is on one of the camera's channel's). I want to get the video from the cameras, through the receivers, and into my mac. That means I will need a device that connects the receiver to the mac,
I have Final Cut Studio 2.0.1. Retail version. I got it with a 2nd hand MBP I bought recently, and I plan to sell FCS2. I have no need for it, iMovie is fine for me.
But I don't have the big fancy box or manuals included... what is meant to be in the box?
I do have...
- 9 installation CDs in the small black apple box.
- Final Cut Studio Software License agreement.
- 'Installing Your Software' documentation with serial numbers.
- Apple Software 'Proof of Purchase' coupons.
If anyone has FCS2 and can tell me what I'm missing, I can advertise it more effectively and truthfully!
i have a macbook and was wondering if you could run Final cut studio 3 on it? i heard that i wouldnt be able too run motion, but didnt know for sure. I'm geting ready to upgrade the ram in my macbook too.
i was shooting an image film with a CANON XF100, and now i have a severe audio problem! All the data (imported via SD-Card to my Mac) was somehow corrupted. It sounded like "Trash", always cut-off or so. I tried to import it to FCP7, yet no success. Is XDCam going to work or any other method to encode MXF to MOV?
how to encode the MXF-files to (uncompressed) MOV or MP4-files. If possible, without a 3rd party-software to purchase. i know some software too, yet Handbrake or VLC seems to fail, too.
So, simply a way to either convert the MXF-data directly into a FCP7-proejct or maybe FCPX, OR simply to convert it to a MOV or MP4, whatever FinalCut can use and import...
Is there a way to run Final Cut Pro Studio 5.1 HD on Mavericks? An emulator? A patch? Anything? I can't afford to buy a THIRD copy Final Cut Pro! (I now have FCP 2 and FCPS 5.1.)
Info: MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), Legacy software
New iMac and Yosemite -I can't get my Canon scanner to behave nicely. It's an 8800F. I have installed the latest Canon drivers (today) and MP-Navigator and I can at least scan OK. But I would like to be able to scan directly within applications (as I was able to on my old OSX 10.6 system), ie, by selecting the scanner as a device within the application.
But the scanner does not show as a device in applications, or within Image Capture.
Has anyone heard any rumors of a new Final Cut Studio coming out? It feels like there should be a new one coming out soon... I'm afraid that if I buy it now they'll announce some release or something like that this June.
I have Studio 1, and would like to "upgrade" (I can't legally because I have the student version), but it's no big deal for me to wait.
I bought a copy of this on eBay and most of the CD's are not the latest versions. For example, I have Final Cut 5.1, SoundTrack 1.1, etc. The box shows the latest versions on the cover but the CD's say otherwise.
The seller said those are the version Apple shipped him in Sept 07. Is it possible that Apple included older versions of the software for the academic version or is he ripping me off?
I'm close to approaching graduate school, majoring in film directing, and was told that the school i want to go to use Final Cut Pro as their default video editing program. It'd be nice to use their computers but i would like the entire suite on my mac but not sure if my macbook would run it well. What's the best specs to make FCS run very well on a mac? I was planning on getting either the low end iMac 21inch or the lower end macbook 15.
I just installed the motion 3 dvd from the final cut studio 2 but i can't locate it anywhere in the applications or elsewhere. can't find in with search. when i go through final cut pro it also isn't available in send to menu, while color is.
I'm not sure if i'm missing something here. the installation went fine with a reboot. I tried re installing which also seemed like it happened without any problems but no traces of motion.
i have no clue where it is, unless it changed it's name and is hiding somwhere.
I need to reinstall FCP Studio 2 to repair a messed up Compressor app. How go I go about uninstalling such a large program? There are preference panes and plists and various programs. Should I use an app like app delete or is there another way?
Last Saturday, I purchased the 15" 2.53 GHz Macbook Pro (the new one that has the battery built into it). Everyone in the store told me it would run FCS2 fine, but after I checked online, it seems that may or may not be the whole truth. Here are the specs:
I need something portable so I can take the projects I'll be working on along with me and due to financial reasons, I neither want the 17" or the 15" (2.8 GHz) MBP. I have a 1TB Firewire 800 WD external HDD, so I'm not worried about space. What I am worried about is rendering speed and such. So, my questions are:
1. Is this MBP sufficient enough to run FCS2? 2. Should I keep this same MBP but upgrade to the 7200rpm drive? 3. Should I pony up another $300+ and get the 2.66GHz MBP with the 7200rpm drive? 4. Taking into account what I've said, what is my best configuration to run the FCS2 suite?
My old Mac drive died and bought a Air. Trying to install Final Cut but bumping into error on trying to install Studio. I have an upgrade to Pro but I have been told that I need to install Studio first. I have all the original disks.
I'm still using final cut pro 7, last week while I was working on a project the screen turned blue w/white lines, ever since I could not use FCP 7 anymore.. I updated the OS, I even formatted the internal HD, but no success
Yesterday I tried to begin a capture of material for a new project. After repeated attempts to reboot, examined all connections, I decided the RS-232 cable must have gone bad. Drove 140 RT to replace it. This morning I did and found no difference.
My next step was to upgrade the firmware on the Kona 3 board and did so. Ran Aja VTR Xchange - beautiful picture and synched time code but the one box says " NO VTR connected".....
Decided to try running FCP and open the Log and Capture window to see what it said. Same thing. Nice picture SMPTE time code appears to be fine- "No Communication". So ...
Now I am down to the deck controls and some hidden internal settings having changed somehow, or continued software incompatibility.
I have had splendid synchronization between all of these devices.
FCP- 7.0.3
Kona 3-
Sony JH-3
It seems that one minute FCP setting is off now. I've gone through the Audio/ Video settings and will return to all the preferences settings.
I've been using FCP 7 for a few years and have just now discovered a problem I can't seem to solve. I have some archive material that I originally injested from HDV tape to HDV 1080 50i 1440 x 1080 and the clip info shows this to be correct. I set up a sequence and and clicked all the settings to match this and no matter what I do, I keep getting either a red render line or a green render line. I'm not entirely sure whether it should be set up for HDTV or just HD in settings, but setting HDTV cause the red render line to appear. Upper field is chosen and 48Khz for sound.
I have been using FCP 7 for some time now and all of a sudden I cannot import an Mp4 file. I get a file error saying the FCP does not recognize the file? I have been importing and using Mp4 files all along. I can't find any setting in FCP that would address this problem?
i just installed them, but they're filling up my app folder. i want to reinstall into it's own folder. same thing happened with photoshop, but i think there was an uninstall.
do i have to do it all manually and are there instructions so i don't miss anything?
In DVD Studio Pro, how do I have the "FBI Duplication Warning" play only upon disc insertion, but then to not play when I have viewers go to the "Main Menu" wherever they are on the disc? Each time "Menu" button is selected, it first plays the FBI Warning. I realize its because I have that "FBI Warning" as first play, but since I went into the inspector I selected "Main Menu" for the Remote Control Buttons. I thought that would take care of it.

Is NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB of integrated video RAM sufficient to do video editing using Final Cut Studio as well a Motion 3 without getting hang ? The system requirement in Final Cut says it won't work on Intel Integrated graphics card. But this integrated card in the Mac Mine is not Intel, it is NVidia integrated card, so will it work ? I hope to use this new Mac Mini to learn Final Cut, Motion 3 and iMovie, so the last thing I want is for it to hang on me !
