In FCP X, Version 10.0.1. Here is our question, the keyer is picking up the wrong color. It is picking up the vibrant blue shirt on the subject instead of the green screen background. How do we mask that vibrant blue color off so we can key correctly?

I love osx leopard with just a few exceptions. I hate the ugly gray menu and title bar colors.
I found a utility to change the menu bar color (LeoColorBar) and was able to change the menu bar color to match my firefox theme, (Aeon Clouds 2.9.1).
It would be great to change the firefox title bar as well. Do you know of any utility or terminal command that would make this possible? I use the latest version of firefox, 3.0.3.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI see that at least one other user is having the same problem with 10.1.2. My movies of four or five clips (auditions for actors) are not carrying color correction forward upon export on all the clips. Some, yes. Some, no. For several hours over two days I have tried everything I can think of to isolate the problem and haven't come up with anything. Sometimes when I export a second time after first disabling and then re-enabling the color correction settings, the second export will be fine.
I've sent in a feedback note to Apple, but I have no reason to believe they'll respond (several times over the years I've done the same on various issues, and have never gotten a response).
Since upgrading to Final Cut Pro 10.1.2, the software is working almost perfectly fine, but when exporting movies - whether I export them as h264, iTunes or directly to YouTube - they do not export with the colour corrections I applied to different shots.

Been getting very sporadic color grades upon export, as in some clips will receive the grade while others won't. I can't seem to find an issue related to any of my media, as Ive tried multiple tests of optimizing the media, trying to start a new project, reimporting all of the media, deleting the render files, and nothing seems to work. Ive noticed it does happen more often when I paste attributes but I've done a test of going through and applying a preset manually and it still wont export with the grade.
Deleting the render files on one project seemed to work well although I found there was a clip or two that still didnt export with the grade.
after color balancing a clip I get a flickering border on top and bottom of my clips, visible in timeline and also after rendering. It's easy to see in this clip (starts around 15 seconds in): URL....
If I remove the color balance it will go away. I wonder if it has to do with the source clip being in 1080i instead of p. The preceding clip is also color balanced but is in 1080p. It's less noticeable but sometimes still there when other color correction is invoked. I'm using a late 2013 Haswell 27 in iMac with 8gb ram.

before switching to Mac, I used an "X-Rite Eye One Display 2" color meter device with software. You can find them most places like Amazon for about $150. The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.
Surely someone out there has used a color meter such as this one as they are quite popular especially for graphics artists that use professional graphic monitors. I am hoping someone can tell me how to use my color meter (USB), what software for Mac Leopard I need and how to save the color profile in the Mac OS.

I have Studio 1, and would like to "upgrade" (I can't legally because I have the student version), but it's no big deal for me to wait.
I am currently working on an IMac Quad Core Processor W / OS X Mavericks 10.9.5, with 16GB of RAM and 8GB video Card and a 1TB drive (512 Solid State/512 Hard Drive). I am using Final Cut Pro X version 10.1.3.
I am pretty new to a MAC system and still learning the in's and out's of the system and how to use it. I have done 4 projects in FCP X and I have around 28GB of data storage left on my 1TB drive. When I looked up one project that is 54 minutes long, it says that file is 500GB and it is not loaded with special effects at all? I cannot believe that it would take that much space.
Here is some information on how I start a project...
I will create a new Library, then I will import media into separate events such as Camera 1 video, Camera 2 video and such.

I have an 09 Mac Pro Nehalem, with nvida gt120 graphics card running 10.6.2 with the latest mac pro 1.4 efi and two 23 inch Apple cinema displays (the older DVI kind)
I go into system preferences>displays>color and try to adjust color on my monitors but selecting different color settings on either monitor only affects ONE monitor, the other monitor is essentially stuck at whatever color setting it is set to.
When starting the iMac in the mornings, the upper strip of the desktop appears in the screen color instead of white. What could this be?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI just installed iLife '09 and had it go through my image library. It didn't pick up a single face of anyone in any photograph. Does anybody else have this problem? (I'm not saying that it doesn't tell me who is who, obviously that needs to be added by me. It just is not picking up faces in photographs for me to tag. Even as I tag faces myself, the 'other photos this person may be in' isn't picking any up).
Also, 'Places' seems rather awkward right now. My hometown is (according to iPhoto) called 'Biglis', even though it is clearly marked as 'Barry' in Google earth (which is correct). Incase anyone is wondering, I'm using an iPhone. My problem is NOT that my library isn't automatically geo-tagged, but that the photos that are geo-tagged have the pin in the right place, but the locations name is 110% wrong). Again, anyone else have this problem? right now, these features are nice but a huge letdown for me.
I got my Mac Pro about 1 week ago. I got the BTO of 2 super drives. Well, I just tried burning an ISO and when I put in a blank dvd it won't pick it up to burn the file. I have tried with Memorex DVD+R's and Sony DVD-R's. Neither will work. Now the weird thing is regular dvd's work, games, and even Windows 7. Also I have toast 10 and it will pick it up but when I choose ISO and drop the ISO in it, it then says it can't burn audio tracks or some warning.

I type said song name in the search bar in the Finder, but it doesn't show up at all, and I made sure I didn't make any sort of typos. I can still get to it, but I have to manually go through folders and find the file myself. Why is this suddenly happening with new songs I'm acquiring?
I am a new user of Skype using Mac 10.5.7. I am using a Logitech usb microphone. The Mac control panel indicates the microphone is working fine. But the test call recorded no audio. The help section talks about a sound settings in Skype but this must be the PC software.

I got a new iMac, turned on Home Sharing with the same account that I use on my ATV, iPad, iPhone and MacBook. ATV does not pick up the iTunes Library on the iMac. When I look in my iTunes account, the iMac does not show up as a device. I'm not over the limit on devices and have tried turning Home Sharing on/off on bot the iMac and the ATV but to no avail.

About 90% of the time, I am using the MBP on the couch while watching TV. When I pick up the MBP to move it around, the HDD makes a quiet "CLICK" sound... It does it more when the base is slightly vertical if that helps. Is this by design? The first thing I thought it might be doing is preparing for a drop by stopping the read/write. Then again, it may be the ugly sound of a dying HDD. I should probably tell you what I have. Spring 2010 MBP. Specs are in signature.
