Basically. I have my 15" saying that it is charged with the MagSafe light green. Although, the battery percentage is 96%. Ehh.. Is it supposed to be like that?

Like, not charge if it has only a little bit left to charge? Or is something wrong with my battery or MagSafe?

MacBook Pro :: Won't Start Even When Charged

Feb 1, 2012

My macbook pro is having issues starting up. To give a little history, the battery itself doesn't work alone. It requires a charger to be plugged in at all times. This has been a requirement for over a year. Upon startup tonight I tried to turn the computer on and recieved absolutlely no response from the macbook. There was no start up, and no sounds eminating from the laptop. The only positive sign is that the computer recognizes it is being charged, as the magnetized charger has the little green light illuminated. The odd thing is normally upon startup, that light would be an orange/brown color indicating that it's accepting the charge. The battery indicator light flashes one light repeatedly when pressed, but that is the only sign of life that we have noticed.

MacBook Pro :: Should I Unplug When Fully Charged?

Oct 19, 2010

I have the impression that my MBP still charges when the power lead is hooked into my macbook. Is that true? Do i have to unplug the power cord each time my macbook is charged? Is there any way that the battery life might be affected?

I hope there is some sort of a circuit involved, that stops charging the battery when the battery is full, rather than overcharging it..

MacBook Pro :: It Won't Turn On, Fully Charged?

May 24, 2012

I bought a MacBook pro in march 2011 and has been working perfectly fine since then. The charger did break but I purchased a new one. I was using it for most of the day on Tuesday and it worked fine, I shut it down like normal and stored it in it's case overnight. On Wednesday morning I tried to switch it on and nothing happened! It's fully charged and I've tried the smc reset and nothing happens. There's no fan sounds or anything!

They all say to keep your laptop plugged into an power supply whenever possible. Only use your battery if you have to, in those times when you are not near a power supply.

MacBook Pro :: Keeping Battery Charged And Calibrated To Maintain Health

Dec 1, 2009

Ever since owning the uMBP, I have kept the battery charged and monthly calibrate it to maintain a 100% battery health. But through this, the laptop limits its portability and it is sometimes extremely tedious to find a plug in order to use it. My question is: Is it really worth it to keep a good battery that will last overtime, or would you prefer simply purchasing a new battery when your old one dies? Also, how big of a difference does a healthy battery compare to a battery put through regular use?
