Is it possible to have 2 different iPods synced to the same iTune program on the same computer??
I have an old 5th Gen iPod classic, and I'm considering getting an iPod touch to double as a PDA-type device.
Will syncing the new iPod un-sync the old one? or will it just work okay
Itunes 10.6 crashes on sync with all iPods. Never had any problems with this on earlier versions. Any one else have the same problem or know how to fix. Sort it out Apple - this is not good enough! Have already reinstalled iTunes and rebuilt library but nothing has worked.

On my setup on Windows it loads the playlists fine, the newest first in Itunes 9 itself but dis-ordered on my ipods. On the Ipod touch v1 with 3.1.1 Firmware I can't fathom how it's sorted, it's totally scrambled the order but on the Ipod Classic V1 160Gb it appears to be sorted via artist. Even if you re-sort it by clicking the date added column the order of the playlist and resync it makes no difference to either of them. Neither does deselecting, resyncing, unplugging -replugging adding back and syncing again.
Anyone else have this issue or am I in the minority of one?
EDIT: Looking at the Apple Support Forums it seems like Smart Playlists are broken for many users on both Windows and Mac. Itunes 9.01 will be on it's way shortly!
I have a 2gb iPod shuffle, but whenever I try to sync music to it all of the space is already taken up by "other" I don't have anything in my iTunes library besides music, so I don't understand why this would happen. I try to sync 1.9 GB of music but only 0.17 GB syncs because there "isn't room for anymore" this is because all the other space is inhabited by the yellow 'other' section. How can I eliminate the other, and just sync the music?

I have two iPod Nano (3 gen). One of them my daughter happened to drop into a pool so the screen stopped working. Is there anyway to "copy" a playlist from the "broken" iPod to the other fully functional iPod?
I have tried to use the "Export playlist" / "Import Playlist" option but that dosent work at all? Or is itunes so (sorry) "Stupid" made that we have to make new playlist on the fully functional iPod and ad song after song, it will take hours to make the lists identical, there must be som easier way?

itunes music file has a movies file that you can't seem to move. movies are mixed in with music files. Â
this all started because brian wanted to share some of my movies. because it's stuck to my itunes music i'm not sure how to do this. Â
before i had brian on another account on my imac. Â
i could try and switch my movies file to shared, but i have no luck with switching files to shared. Â
can i use one itunes and specify different file locations for each ipod? and have both ipods use my movie file which is mixed in with my music file without trouble?

I figure there would be two ways; it could just copy the Itunes directory which always has things sorted by artist, or it could try and duplicate my playlists as folders. I'd prefer the latter. Does anyone make software that does this?

I would love to listen to it as I run but I can't find it on my iphone. It is checked in itunes and I have it set to sync my entire music library so it should be on there. Any ideas?
If it matters I have changed my email address that I use for my itunes account since then but to my knowledge all of the older music I bought with that account still syncs perfectly fine.
Also it shows up that it is on my iphone when I look at it in itunes but not on the iphone when it is not connected. I watched it sync saying updating that track on the phone too.
I just got a new MacBook Pro and transferred all my music/movies/apps onto it. However I haven't synced my phone to it yet.

I upgraded to the new 9.0 version of iTunes and now my iPhone won't sync. Every time I try t it gives me the eternal windmill.... Solutions I've tried include the following:
-Plugging in iPhone while not connected to the airport
-Recreating iTunes Library
-Rebooting iPhone
-etc...
I keep all my iTunes files (podcasts, audio, video, etc.) on my main Windows 7 desktop. I just got a Macbook Pro and so far I've been using the sharing feature in iTunes to listen to my music on the MacBook. I've just set up file sharing on my windows 7 pc and now I'm able to see all the actual files on my MB. I was wondering if there was any way that I could just point my MacBook to the same directory that my windows 7 pc uses for iTunes and have the SAME library file on each computer. when I make changes, add songs, etc, to either computer, the library files would sync (update) the new information and I'd basically have an exact replica on either computer. Of course I realize that this would mean that my Windows 7 desktop would basically be the host for all these files and would have to remain online which is no problem. And I realize that I'd only be able to have one iTunes open at a time, which again is no problem. So basically I'm just wondering if there are any programs that could allow me to do this? I've seen programs that copy all the files from each computer and have them in sync that way, but like I mentioned, I don't want the actual files on my macbook. The windows 7 will be the host. I just want to sync my library files so I can make changes on either computer.

My question is, can I sync my wife's iPhone on the same computer without having her iTunes library mix with mine? View 2 Replies View RelatedInstalled iTunes 9.2 and now get an error message at end of synch saying the iPhone can't synch because the file can't be found. The issue is limited to photos checked to synch from my Aperture 3.03 library. Those photos have been removed from the iPhone leaving only the photos taken on the iPhone and stored in the 'film roll'. All photos synched from Aperture were removed and won't reload. The Photo tab shows the Aperture app is checked and should synch.
I have repaired permissions and rebooted the iMac. Same issue continues after all this.

I am desperately trying to find a way to sync BOTH my Aperture library and my iPhoto library onto my iPad by using iTunes. I want to keep the Aperture library separate from my iPhoto library as the Aperture library only contains high res images and raw files whereas the iPhoto library is made up of images which were not taken with a DSLR such as point-and-shoot cameras or mobile phones.

I would like to see this same library on my MBP (presumably just point the iTunes on the MBP to the networked external HD for the iTunes folder??).
But now I wish to ensure that any changes made on one machine (additions, artwork update, playlists etc) are synced and show up on the other, and vice versa.

I bought an imac 24" 4 months ago and set up individual access accounts on the mac for me and my daughters. I then set up an itunes account for each and I started to pay into their accounts for them to purchase some music and all was fine after syncing each nano with their access account and itunes account.
However, it quickly became apparent that they could not share their music between account even though they are on the same computer. I have tried various searches but to be honest some of the methods suggested I just dont understand hence my appearance here.
Can I now save the music they have purchased etc and take it all to one account and then sync them again with the one itunes account or would i be better to keep the different accounts and change the set-up so that they can see and sync with each others music.
At the moment most of my music is either stored on my Macbook or on an external hard drive. Is it possible to transfer all my music and videos to an external hard drive and then sync it with Itune so that every time I plug it in I can access them?

It would be nice to have them on the idevices as well but there i just use a radio app.Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought my first iMac yesterday and am slowly getting to grips with it. I seem to have got totally stuck trying to connect my iPhone or the kids iPods.
When I connect by the cable, the phone charges fine.
The computer doesn't recognise that the phone exists though - either in uTunes or when i look in Finder.
I checked in system information, under hardware - USB, and it listed the phone there fine. (under the USB 3.0 high speed hub)Â
I have tried putting making the sidebar visible on iTunes and this made no difference.
It doesn't even register it as a camera or external storage in FinderÂ
It's an iPhone 4, and I haven't updated the OS recently so it is still on iOS 6.
I've also not been able to get the iMac to recognise my printer throughout the wifi - I'm not bothered about fixing this just yet - just concentrating on one w=thing at a time, but mentioned it incase it's relevant.Â

Is there any way to move my data from PC to Mac without looseing anything? All my apps an music are on a external HDD anyway, but i have nearly 1000 albums all with album art and perfectly named etc... many sleepless nights doing that!

Normally I have my music stored on an external HD. When I sync my iPhone the music is synced with the content of the external drive. Were I not to have the drive turned on during the sync, iTunes would delete the music on my iPhone as it would sync the "no music" on my pc with the music on my iPhone. Now I am traveling and will be away from my external HD for about a month. I would like to add some apps to my iPhone but if I do a sync I will lose all that music until I can get back home. Not what I want to have happen. Is there any way to prevent iTunes from syncing the music, i.e. just letting what's there alone and syncing the rest of the content?
