I am just learning this product and can't find a way of changing section breaks to combine them.
I inadvertently setup 2 different sections, but I now want to combine them as one.
In the thumb nail view you can select multiple sections but there dosen't seem to be a way to combine them.
I've created a 15 page proposal in Apple Pages, each page as a independent Pages doc. Is it possible to combine all into one Apple Pages doc/file so I don't have 15 separate ones?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running OS 10.6.8, using Automator to create a Folder Action. The input is a single folder containing 2 or more PDF files. I drop this folder onto the folder with the action attached. All of the PDFs are combined and the resulting PDF is copied to a new location.
It works very well with one problem. The name of the combined PDF is an automatically generated system name. I would like this PDF file name to change to the name of the original folder that contained the original PDFs.
To summarize: "Folder A" has the action attached. "Folder B" contains 2 or more PDFs. I drop Folder B onto Folder A. Automator creates a new combined PDF. I would like this to be named "Folder B.pdf"

I have been using Preview to separate pdf pages into separate pdf documents. How might I do the reverse. Preview appears to have combined the documents in the thumbnail, but will not allow saving this. It just saves the highlighted page.

I'm running the latest version of iTunes, and recently I noticed that when I press "Get album artwork" it only updates it in the artists grid view. Once I click the artist to see the album, it isn't updated, until I restart iTunes completely. I tried to re install it, but nothing worked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThat is, if I'm reading an article, and I put the cursor at the bottom of the scroll bar, and click once, Firefox will scroll two or three sections sometimes. This is very annoying, and didn't happen in Firefox 2.0. To clarify, I'm reading, and I click once, and want the page to jump down one section, and instead it jumps two or three. I've experimented with autoscrolling on/off, and this doesn't help the problem. Should I switch back to Firefox 2.0? One solution is to position the cursor barely below where I want to go, so Firefox can't jump ahead, but I find this annoying and would just as soon switch back to 2.0.

I've tried using the information sent to me by the developer when I purchased the shareware but I keep getting a Could not connect to host [URL] message and am not able to validate my registration.
I have imported an album from CD but iTunes INSISTS that track one is one album, and tracks 2-4 are another - though it gives both albums the same name. So the "second" album has tracks 2-4 of 4 and the first, 1 of 4. I have done all the usual stuff, selected them all and bulk changed / retyped artist, album name , cover art etc. Anything I might be missing?

I have jpegs of a book that I need to put into one pdf file so that it can be more easily transfered. i have found that adobe has a program that has the possible ability to do this, but i dont have access to it and i was looking for a much more simple way to do this..

It would be helpful to take a stack of medical records from a specific doctor, scan them into PDF's, and then tag each page of the stack with the name of the provider and date of service. Then, as additional records come in from various providers, and I repeat the process, I would hope to have the ability to combine all the records if need be sort the entire set of records by date, or if I choose to have them sort by provider. I know it would require some manual tagging but overall I think would save a great deal of time. I cant find a single program that will enable me to do this. I'm looking to have the ability to quickly rearrange the pages of a pdf file based on tags or labels that I add.

My boss got me a mac and is connected in a Windows Exchange environment. It works great. But I want to combine my work calendar with my private calendars.
So, I want to bring the exchange calendar of my work computer to show in my private calendars in my mac at home and in my iphone. Maybe through publishing and subscription...?
The issue is that I do not want to put my mobile me password in this work computer, since it is a "Company computer" and it's going to sync all my private info.
How bad can it get if I put my mobile me credentials in this work computer and syncs all my private info? Is there a potential that my info be out in the open for all to see in my workplace?
I have a macbook pro, after i replace the screen the system bootup with no problem..however; now the screen separate into 4 equal sections..all display the same image, and mouse functionalities at the same time...does anyone knows why? or how to fix that problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen copying a table from say a webpage or even a RTF file, Pages does not retain its table formatting. Instead it separates the rows and columns and puts them on separate lines.
See it for yourself, try copying one of the tables on this page into Pages [URL]
The only way I can get the table into Pages is to paste into NeoOffice (which retains the correct formating), save the file with the .doc extension then open in Pages.
My MBP has a 320GB harddrive with like 240GB used on it but I only have two 250 GB harddrives so you can see the problem I'm in. I would like to combine into a single virtual drive so that it can accommodate my Time Machine backups.

I need to open a few Pages files but I don't have Pages installed on this computer. I understand you can convert Pages files to .doc or .pdf within the application, but unfortunately I won't have access to the computer with the program installed for a while.
Is there some sort of (free) converter that can convert .pages files to .doc or .pdf or even .rtf?
Or even better, a document creator/viewer than can open .pages files?
I'm wondering if there's a way to eliminate the visual break in-between pages in Pages '09 (see screenshot). I'd prefer maybe a subtle dotted line indicating a different page, not a 5-inch gap.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create pages that have all black backgrounds. I've been doing this by using the Shapes tool, choosing a rectangle, filling in the entire white space for the page, which is 8x11, and then filling in with black.
The problem is that when I do this, Pages seems to think that I want this page and the following page to be connected, in some way. When I look at the two pages in the thumnail view, the yellow outline is around both pages, rather than each individually.
Anybody know how to keep this from happening. Or the right way to create full black backgrounds for pages in Pages?
On the advice of various forum members, I recently upgraded my 2008 Mac Pro to 12 GB of RAM (from 4 GB), in order to solve an issue I was having with Logic. Unfortunately the issue is still present and I am wondering what to do as I've already blown my budget to fix it. I'm hoping someone here can help.
I use the Vienna Symphonic Library through ESX24 in Logic 9, on a 2008 Mac Pro (2.8 Ghz octocore). When I attempt to play back some of my compositions, Logic hits a wall with certain sections, indicating "System Overload. The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time. (-10011)" I did check System Profiler, and all the RAM is being recognized.Is there any way to solve this without new hardware? As a side note, I was wondering how I can add more than 255 ESX24 tracks as Logic seems to cap out at that. Please let me know anything I can try.
I know that you can show facing pages using View>inspector>documents. But, this does not place the pages side by side, Is there any way that say page 1 and page 2 can be shown and worked on side by side so you do not have to scroll up and down to view them?

View 39 Replies View RelatedI have 9 external USB HDs plugged into my Mac and in Sidebar it shows them all seperate and it looks bad cause theres so many. Any program or anyway I can make it show like 1 Folder called "iTunes Server" or something and when u go into it then shows all the external drives? I just want something where it shows only 1 folder or something.
I can do this now by hooking my USB hub to my Airport Extreme and then it shows up under Shared as 1 drive but when you click on it it shows all the HDs hooked up to it.
Thing is I want to hook it up to my Mac not my router.
Does anyone know of a way to combine several jpeg files into one? I was going to use pdf, but the file size is too big.
Also, a PC shouldn't have any problems opening a jpeg (.jpg) file, right?
I have various drives from over the years, some from work and some from home - probably about 8 total ranging from 20 gigs to 250 gig in size.
There are duplicate copies of many folders all over the place - but some of the folders do not contain all the same amount of files as I added photos or doc's to one but not another.
Is there some master program that can look at literally every file in all the folders on all the drives and copy them to 1 new giant drive. I think CarbonCopy does this at the folder level - but if I have 3 drives that each have a folder called harry's pics and there are a vastly different number of sub folders, and even different number of pics in folders of the same name... so I don't think it will work.
I am working on some Macs and am going to be installing Microsoft Office 2008 on them, including 12.2.0 and 12.2.5 updates and Entourage Web Services Edition. I would like to somehow automate the install by combining the packages into one or something like that.
