I opened up Keynote '08 to make a presentation and I chose the Hard Cover layout. The slide and text (in edit mode) is white. When I play the slideshow, it shows up blue (it should be tannish).

Does Keynote have the ability to work in a Portrait Layout?
I know that Microsoft's PowerPoint gives you the ability to work in either Portrait or Landscape. I can't seem to find anything about this for Keynote. Therefore, I am assuming that it does not exist. Please don't tell me that I don't need it.
I dont know if is a problem with the new itunes but compare the colors in cover art! ARE DIFFERENT in left bottom to the top...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just wanted to say that I recently did a hardcover photo book using iPhoto, and it turned out very, very well.
I did it as a gift for my wife for Mother's Day, and gave it to her early because I was excited to see how she liked it, and she most definitely did.
So in case anyone's wondering, they do do a good job.
And before getting into IT I worked in camera stores for 10 years, so I'm kinda picky!
I have a g5 ppc running the newest OSX. Somehow my startup folder got corrupted and my computer would not start up. so I did a restore from time machine. The restore worked ok. I have 2 external hard drives attached to my computer, one for time machine and one for iTunes and movies. After restore and restart my computer said the hard drive attatched could not be repaired by disk utility. I did not ask it to fix anything. Now, I don't have permission to write to my external hard drive on the non time machine hard drive. When I get info, the lock on the bottom is not available, and I can't modify anything. Can I fix this by going into the terminal?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the latest gen 15" Macbook Pro. When I first got it in September, I put an upgraded hard drive in it myself. Recently, my display went bad, so I swapped back to the old hard drive before I took it into the Apple Store for repair (so they couldn't say I had voided the warranty). They ended up replacing my display and giving me a new logic board. When I got it back, I threw in the other hard drive I usually use and now it won't recognize the millions of colors option on the Displays preferences pane. I swapped the original hard drive and I see that its registering on there, so its not the display. How can I get my upgraded hard drive to recognize the millions of colors option?

View 1 Replies View Relatedall of the sudden after restarting my computer it wont work. I can't play the project i was working on, and i cant get the little red bar to move across my project. I have to like, visit my project library and then go back to my project to get the red bar to move, but then when i try to play it, it wont play. One time after clicking around a lot i got it to play, but only the sound played and none of the video previewed.
NOW when I go and do things to get it to play, instead of playing my song that I put to go along with the movie, it plays random songs from my itunes or random songs from the videos i used to make my video. So what the hell is going on here? Edit;; I just remembered- I was working on it fine last night at around 11, but then I went out with friends and left my laptop open. I came back and my computer was logged out, and some bogus amount of *****'s were typed in to the login like someone was trying to get in it (I've got a roommate, i'm in college) also, my laptop was shut, when i remember leaving it open on my bed.
So did someone like, get on and totally **** up my program? is that even possible?
I just noticed my applications running with X11 doesn't let me use some symbols like the =. If I change the layout to U.S. letters and numbers are working, but not other symbols.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just updated my mozilla firefox to the new version and it deleted all of my bookmarks. I didn't think it was a big deal because I could just re add them. When I restarted the application after re adding all of them they just deleted again. I deleted firefox and re downloaded it but it still keeps deleting my bookmarks when I restart it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to iTunes 9 and then downloaded some new podcasts. ITunes is putting each new podcast episode into a new group in the thumbnail view. In Finder, all the episodes still remain under one folder though.
Any ideas on how to fix?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI go to some websites, (such as wikipedia amongst other glitchy thing like someones reply on gmails) and the fonts on the site comes out illegible! It comes out like fraction and words all on top of each other. I tried changing the Character Encodings under View but nothing is working. Its a drag not being able to read some sites. When I copy and paste it onto excel, the actual paragraph clearly appears but once back on the browser, its still messed up. I use Firefox 3.0.8 and Safari 3.1.2.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine did a publication using pages in which the final result was a pdf document which had 2 different page layouts. The first page was w26cm by h29.7cm and the rest of the pages were w52cm by h29.7cm.
I'm unable to contact him but he told me that he did this in pages. Im trying to do the same page format and cannot get 2 different sizes.
Is there a way in pages that you can do this and export it as a pdf? What I currently have is 2 documents with different size pages, so is there another way, such as another program that merges the two documents together?
I saw someone elses itunes and they had a different layout than mine, but did not remember where he changed it at. His had three columns that filled the top half with like artist, genre, album. And then the bottom half had the selection of whatever was highlighted on the top half.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been working on creating some books in iPhoto, and I'm running into all sorts of issues with Apple's "smart" page formatting. When I choose a page layout, iPhoto automatically changes the layout based on what type of photos you put where. For example: Say I choose a 2-photo layout for one page with 2 horizontal photo placeholders side by side (and large blank spaces above/below). If I drag a portrait photo to one of the placeholders, the arrangement automatically changes to 1 squarish portrait size, and one long landscape photo. If I drag another portrait photo onto the other landscape placeholder, the page automatically becomes a full bleed, 2-portrait page. This is 100% consistent and predictable - however this info appears nowhere in iPhoto or in Apple's support pages. Or anywhere that I can find.
Problem: It gets really complex with multi-photo pages. I'm using a few 6-photo pages, which the default template is: 1 big portrait, 1 regular landscape and 4 quarter size landscapes. I can't sort out the logic for the auto-formatting of this page. If I drag a portrait photo to one of the small photos, sometimes it changes the page into two normal size landscape photos and four half-frame portrait photos. This looks great when arranged on a diagonal, but there's no way to do that on purpose - and the iPhoto "magic" arranging is seemingly inconsistent here. (Often it stacks the landscape photos on one side of the page with 4 small portrait photos on the other - which looks chunky.)
<brief rant> Further infuriating is that the various full-bleed books have totally different formatting options. And "undo" does NOT undo magic iPhoto's magic format changes. </brief rant>
Help: I've googled the bejeezus out of this, and searched here for hours. Is there a helpful website out there, anywhere, that have these logic strings revealed? So that users can arrange photo books to look good on purpose? I can't understand why apple doesn't allow an "advanced" mode where the format box shows all the options, and have a toggle for "no magic auto formatting."
Note: I'm currently running iLife 11 on a up-to-date new MacBook Pro. However, I had the exact same issues with the previous version of iPhoto, so I believe the magic code to be universal.
I am trying to create a simple yearbook layout - looking for a template - and various searches have turned up a suggestion to the yearbook template option in iPhoto. I am running iPhoto '08 and cannot find a template for a yearbook. Is it not included with this year? I also run inDesign so if any knows of a template I can use it.

View 1 Replies View Relatedpicked up a unibody last Saturday night, and opened the battery cover tonight. The latch was opened with little resistance, but now won't close. The latch edge sits about 1/8" up, and I can't find anything which would seem to prevent it from closing.
Anyone else had a troublesome battery latch, and how did you resolve it?
I am a complete newbie to Keynote. Are there any books or websites that have good indepth literature to teach me how to get the most out of Keynote? I know there are video tutorials but I'd rather have a book that I can have sitting next to me when I am on my Macbook Pro or that I can read when I am out and about.
