Having created a web site on .Mac with iWeb, how does one get the site indexed by Google? Google already spiders my domain-hosted web sites on a regular basis, according to the reports generated by my ISP. Will Google ever find a web site hosted on .Mac on its own, or must I create a link to it from a page I know Google already spiders?

I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account
My old MB got attacked by some tea and died. So now i have a new unibody although the main thing that i have lost from my old MB is my iWeb pages.
I have mobile me, and have the site published to that. How can i download the site to my MB in iWeb format? Iv tried downloading them as HTML but iWeb can't open them.
I have recently put together a site in iWeb, hosted on .Mac. I realize there are other tools out there and other hosting options that are may have more features and be cheaper, but I really have been enjoying the ease of putting this thing together and changing it on the fly, so I'm happy to stick with the setup for now. That said, I would like to have certain .Mac features enabled, mostly the comments for podcast and photos. However, when I insert Google Analytics code, it seems to take away the comments feature.
I am using an Automator script to put the Google Analytics script in each of my iWeb pages after I publish to .Mac. I'm assuming that this might be overwriting or otherwise interfering with a script needed to activate the .Mac comments? Could anyone help me out, maybe tell me what I need to do with the Automator script so that it can insert the Analytics stuff without interfering with the .Mac stuff? By the way, I'm using the site as kind of a self-promotion while I'm looking for a job, which is why I want the Google Analytics stuff in there -- need to see who, if anyone, is checking the pages out!

I used the solution for getting the google translator on my site by using MassReplacement as suggested by Giovannino on Feb. 2008. It seems to have worked in the folder I published to. However, how do I now publish that version that is saved in my folder to the web?

Is there anyway I can upload my created single page to my google apps domain name and bypass the crappy google apps page creator. I am sure that there is some way to do it under the godaddy.com domain registration panel, but I don't know how.

But at the moment it displays on Google in an odd way - the main result is a random PDF I have on my site and then, under that as a sub-result, is the title "Home" (my home page) and the snippet of text it displays is the menu on my homepage. How can I make the main title of the result say something like "SS957916's Fantastic Website - Photos, videos and more" with the text snippet being body text from my site rather than the menu?!

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I use Google to search for something and click on a result, then navigate back to the search results, the link that I just clicked shows up as visited (it is a different color). However when I refresh the results or search for the same results again, that very same webpage shows up as unvisited (same color as all other links on the page). I've narrowed this down to specifically an issue with Google, or at least not browser-wide (visited links are being remembered on CNN.com). I'm using Firefox 3.0.5, history is being remembered for 30 days in preferences. I've tried logging out of Google and searching as a guest and it still doesn't work. I've verified that it works correctly in Safari.

I've put a lot of work into customizing the theme, and iLife 09 is currently being shipped to me. In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? View 1 Replies View RelatedI have seen Spotlight. it is working fine as long as I use Latin characters. Since I work with Tibetan, I was used to search for Tibetan words across and within files. When updating to Yosemite, both Spotlight and Preview stopped working properly with Tibetan. I have checked with various friends and all have the same issue: Yosemite indexing and search methods have changed from Maverick to Yosemite.
letters of the alphabet are still indexed (like ཀ་ཁ་ག་ང་), but when they are combined (like རྒ་), spotlight is the blue, giving no answer. Again, this used to work very well before. I have tried reindexing, following Apple's suggestion (URL....), but no success. It seems to be related to the indexing method itself. This is a big issue as we are used to search with Finder—a feature that is normally powerful in OSX..Spotlight works well with simple letters...But no result with a simple stack (ར and ག on top of each other):

I have a 13" Retina MacBook Pro running Mavericks., Safari suddenly will open ONLY Google-related pages (e.g., gmail and google maps). All other websites I try result in the gray page that says, "Safari can't find the server."
when I turned on my MBP, the wireless connection would not connect to my home network. That was temporary--it eventually connected to the network, but then even though it was connected to the network, it could not access the internet connection. All of that then resolved itself (I reset modem and router) and those connections resumed functionality. But then I could not access any web pages, as per my comment above, EXCEPT for Google-related pages.
Steps I have already taken in attempt to resolve:booted in safe modecleared Safari cacheRemoved all website dataunder Proxies on Preferences -> Advanced tab, selected Auto Proxy Discoveryunchecked and re-checked the Fraudulent sites warning check box on Preferences -> Security tab
Does it have something to do with the Google Safe Browsing Service? Seems so odd that ONLY Google pages will load..

I tried creating another user account and it works fine with that. Just not with my primary account. I've done all the typical things. repaired permissions, repaired disk, completely reset Safari to default and made sure all caches, etc. were cleaned out. Both manually and with Onyx, reset associated .plist files, history, cookies, private browsing. Returning to a Google search page still shows all visited links as blue, as if they'd never been visited.
Another clue is if I log out of my Google account (which I have to be logged into 24/7 for Gmail, Google bookmarks, iGoogle, etc., it starts working, then stops working as soon as I log into my Google account again. I posted this on Google Groups but got no response. This also works fine on my wife's Mac, so it's definitely a problem just in my user account. I know I could just add a new account and use that, but it would mean re-installing all 70 applications I have now installed as they're not setup for use except with my account. I'd like to avoid that and find the actual culprit. BTW, this worked fine for a long time. Just quit working about a week ago, but it wasn't in conjunction with any new hardware or software.

I get this ad every time I load the page. I figured it was a cookie problem so I searched my cookies for 'Google' and deleted all the results. I'm still getting it. It's not happening in Firefox, only Safari. It's been there since Friday or Saturday. Am I the only one?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen copying a table from say a webpage or even a RTF file, Pages does not retain its table formatting. Instead it separates the rows and columns and puts them on separate lines.
See it for yourself, try copying one of the tables on this page into Pages [URL]
The only way I can get the table into Pages is to paste into NeoOffice (which retains the correct formating), save the file with the .doc extension then open in Pages.
I need to open a few Pages files but I don't have Pages installed on this computer. I understand you can convert Pages files to .doc or .pdf within the application, but unfortunately I won't have access to the computer with the program installed for a while.
Is there some sort of (free) converter that can convert .pages files to .doc or .pdf or even .rtf?
Or even better, a document creator/viewer than can open .pages files?
