Applications :: FTP Client With One Button And Shortcut, Nag Screen Free Syncing?
Mar 7, 2010
which FTP clients allow for the simplest, most streamlined upload capabilities. I want to press a single button (or shortcut) and have all the files in the local directory sync'd to the remote directory. I don't want to be bothered by any confirmations.I'm currently using forklift and the confirmation dialog is really irritating me. When I'm making multiple, small color tweaks in Photoshop >saving them out as jpegs> then uploading with an ftp client every second added to the loop greatly increases the time it takes me to complete my work. I want to just switch to the ftp client, press a single button, then move on to the next app in my workflow.

Last month I ditched my landline as we wern't ever using it anymore. Well after doing so I remembered that my Fantasy Baseball draft is next month and we do that via a conference call as we have league members from all over the US.
Now, I could use my iPhone (and I may have to) but we all know all the iPhone has some issues with dropped calls from time to time.
So I was wondering if there anything on the market that would allow me make calls via VOIP on my Mac? Ideally free or even a 30 day free trail.

You know how in Windows you can use the tab key to tab through fields in a dialogue box until the OK or Cancel button is selected, then use the enter key to execute one's choice? Well how does one do that in Leopard? For example, I am entering a lot of transactions into my accounting software (MYOB) and each entry has to be recorded by hitting the OK button. It's highlighted in blue but hitting the enter key doesn't do it and I cannot tab to it. It would speed things up greatly if I didn't have to keep mousing to the button.

All right, I'm wondering what the best IM client for OSX is at the moment? Preferably with video chat and an iPhone version.
I'm currently trying trillian on OSX, seeing if its any good. And I've had a look at adium but trillian looks better.

I'm thinking about switching from my Logitech MX400 to Mighty Mouse (I'm starting not to like the shape of the logitech, too big. MM is a breeze to work with...)
The Logitech essentially has one button more (it has two side buttons, each separately programmable) and I use it for executing Cmd+H on the active app -- and I've grown pretty addicted to it. Hiding an app with a mouse is a lovely feat... And the second one is for Expose.

I have 1.76 GB Free on my iPhone 5 but whenever I try to sync, I get a message saying it can't be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all fo the selected items (additional 1.18 GB required). How do I fix this issue so I can sync my phone? I have already update the phone to the latest update, so that's not the issue. Also wanted to note that I backup my stuff to my computer - not the cloud....

This is what happens when I click the maximize button. The windows becomes almost full size, but makes it so there's a little bit space around the window.

So today, I was showing my client a draft version of the long awaited project I've been working on with my recently purchased unibody macbook. He was making a few points, then *smack* and pokes at my screen It wasn't really hard. Does anyone know what material macbook screen is made of? It is easily scratchable? And does the above action kill the screen in a short/long run? Is there any way I can check for possible damage?

Does OSX has a keyboard shortcut as linux (CTRL ALT L) to lock the screen? Unfortunately, OSX doesn't require password to return after a display sleep. It only requests password after sleep. I need a keyboard shortcut to solve this problem or a screensaver with sleep display function.

Is there a shortcut in Mac OS X that resizes two or more open windows automatically so that each window is shown on the screen simultaneously? For example, I want to have a safari window open and a word document open so that one half of the screen is showing safari and the other half is word. I know I can resize them manually but I was wondering if there is a shortcut or a third party utility that resizes any open windows to fit the entire screen? This would be useful, for example, with the new 27 inch iMacs where the wide screen can easily display three (or more) windows side by side utilizing the entire screen area; having them resized automatically would be more productive than having to resize them manually.

I checked Universal Access and the Zoom and VoiceOver features have shortcuts written next to themin bold black writing where as the shortcut next to Inverted Colours is greyed out. I have been using it for a year now and this is the first time it has greyed out and not letting me change the colours using the shortcut.I can still change it using the radio buttons in Universal Access but shortcut was much easier. I am using Snow Leapord on a 15.4 inch early 2011 model of Macbook Pro. I dont know if this has any relevance but the last time it worked was just before I updated the Blackberry Desktop Manager.

when using apps in full screen mode the spotlight shortcut cmd+space doesn't work anymore.
E.g. safari in fullscreen mode, I tap cmd+space and nothing happens, if I move the mouse on top of the screen the bar appears and cmd+space is restored

I've been using quite happily TightVNC on windows to connect my MP. Now I'm using MBP, so is there any decent VNC client for OsX where you can define zoom by % or slider. Preferably free or cheap. Apple's "Screen sharing" offers only scaling on or off, which are for me either too small or too big.

when I was out trying to set up a development environment on my Mac. (SVN, Bug Tracking, etc.)
It's called Versions, and it's still in beta, but it seems really stable, and it's one of the best SVN clients I've ever used. I have no affiliation with the company or product at all, so this isn't a plug. I've just been using it constantly to manage some Xcode projects and a few other important documents between Macs, and I thought I'd share.

I'm looking for an FTP client that has a versioning system like that of SVN. Is there such an app?For instance, I'd like to be viewing the files to my website in the FTP client and know which files I've made changes to on my local system so I know if I should upload. Does the ftp file server have to be an svn host?

I'm looking for an FTP/SFTP client that won't stop responding when dealing with a folder that has thousands of files. Yummy FTP and Transmit don't handle them very well when you get past 20,000 or so.

So I was using the older CISCO VPN client and now need the CISCO Anyconnect client as well. Anyconnect would not install, it kept telling me that there was already a newer version installed already? So I thought maybe it was the older CISCO VPN client (that I will also need later) so I used APpZapper to remove it. I am still getting that error message when the installer gets to the disk selection screen.
Has anyone seen this before? I have no clue where to go from here.

I've been using Mail.app for my gmail accounts for quite a while now - but it seems that Mail just isn't designed for gmail. For example - when I search for a message, each message will appear two or more times (located in Inbox & All Mail, not inc. any labels), archiving messages isn't exactly easy, and deleting messages doesn't quite.. delete messages.
Is there a way to make Mail.app more friendlier towards Gmail accounts or is there a better client for Mac for Gmail accounts?
