I'm trying to download the following video from the BBC website:

It doesn't seem to appear in the iPlayer, so the usual applications (Beeb Downloader, Fader, iPlayer Downloader) don't work.Does anyone know a way around this, or a way I can download it before the BBC take it down
Here's my problem: I'd very much like to download an embedded flash video from this page: http://bit.ly/d24fEU. (One has to click 'start' for the flash to load.)
But web developers have become wily it seems. No longer do the old methods appear to work. I've tried: Apps for downloading youtube videos, using the Activity window in Safari (only a small SWF file of about 21kb appears in the activity window), numerous Firefox plugins� To no avail.
There are apparently apps for Windows that can manage to download these tricky types of videos, is there anything or any method on the Mac? I've been ripping my hair out trying. I've searched the forum, but none of the suggested methods work.
Although Sothink Web Video Downloader for Firefox v5.7 downloads most of the time, there are many sites where it does not work. Anyone have any suggestions of other ways to download flash video on a web-page?

I'm using it as a media centre to play music, photos, movies etc and most importantly to watch catch up tv. Unfortunately I can't watch bbc iplayer, itv or channel four on demand. Each time I load a video it simply stalls at the beginning (except itv which just rotates through adverts). Now, I'm sure you need some info. I've installed the latest version of flash and it seems to be working, I'm using safari and this is a mac os x 10.5.8. I've been trying to fix it for over 3 hours now and I'm losing the lot.

View 23 Replies View Relatedthis happens at least 2-3 times a day. I will click to go to a youtube video, or some video on a site. The download box will immediately pop up and it will start to download the flv file of the video i'm watching. It gets annoying, but it doesn't happen all the time.
is there any way to turn this off?
Heres the thing ive been using Click to Flash for a while now and have been downloading some videos from youtube as the program allows you to do on safariBut now i noticed that with the new Youtube Layout whenever i click to download a video a new video pops up with the click to flash player just playing the video.I checked for updates my software is up to date i tried reinstalling it and still nothing.Can anyone tell me if they are experiencing the same thing and how can i fix this?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble view YouTube videos. When I try to view a video, it tells me my flash player isn't up to date. But when I download the latest player from the link they provide(which it tells me is successful), I still can't view the video.
Anybody have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
For some odd reason, my Google Chrome browser will not show the videos from YouTube, but I can hear the sound in the background.
This problem happened during either after I downloaded all of my OSX updates (this is a new macbook), or after I installed SilverLight to watch some videos on Netflix.
In the past, neither of these had that effect on Google Chrome.
Safari shows videos just fine, so I'm not sure why Google Chrome is all of a sudden having this issue.
I've recently upgraded to Lion and have found that Quicktime movies and embedded Flash movies won't work. With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. Anyways ....... I've been reading thread after thread and trying lots of different things but nothing works. I've got this feeling inside that says it's something simple but just can't seem to find it.

I have an app that will take out the video and turn the audio into mp3 which works perfectly
but I do not have an app that will download the video to view it at a later time.
I used to use Jdownloader , but downloading stops with a message saying "Aborted" , and sometimes when it is downloaded , the video will be corrupted with a blackout.

I have a slow internet and it would be nice to have it on my computer so I can watch it whenever i want it. Anyway it stopped working and I downloaded the newer version two weeks ago and although ithe application loads ok it does not work, if I pick something to download, it opens an mpeg4 file on my desktop but never progresses beyond that.
