Applications :: Cannot Middle Click Bookmarks To Open In New Tab?
Jun 18, 2008
I've been waiting for FF3 forever, and I still can't middle click bookmarks to open in a new tab. I've been doing this on PC forever. What gives for the OSX version?
I can't right click my bookmarks, especially RSS feeds that appear as a drop-down menu (on the toolbar). I tried to right click on one RSS feed so I can open it in a new tab but there's no right click menu.
I plugged in a mouse into my Macbook. Usually middle click opens a new tab in Firefox but now it launches Expose. How to remove that function and make it open a new tab in FF again?
I have been using this hint but since I updated to Safari 4 Beta its not possible to close tabs with middle click anymore, but I can still open links with it.
Using mail is great. My default web browser is Firefox. But when I click links in my mail they open in safari. Is there a way to make it open in a new firefox window or tab if firefox is already running?
When I perform a Google search and click on any of the links that show up, Safari will always open that very link in the same window. How to make Safari open each link I click in a new tab?
I recently switched to mac. I am using Entourage and these Office Reminders pop up on reminders on emails or calendar events. Well, what's annoying, is that I can not click these events or open them. E.g. I am alerted to a conference call, I click it to open and grab the dial in number and nothing happens. I even tried command+O and nothing.
I recently installed snow leopard to a new hard drive. Before I formatted the hard drive with leopard on it, there was duplicate everything when I right clicked and used open with, but after I formatted the old drive, most of them disappeared... except for one. Right now, I'm seeing two VLC players and I don't know why. I tried opening a file with each of them and they both point to the same VLC so I was wondering how I can remove the duplicate.
I hate MS Word, but I find that I can't get rid of it just yet. I love Pages, but I need the thesaurus capabilities of word. I need to be able to right click on a word and have synonyms come up in that very menu, no opening dictionary or another pop-up.
After using Firefox and many others on the Mac, it's now my default browser. It's the only browser that's in the dock, actually. But I have a complaint about it.On a MacBook, the screen isn't wide enough for all of my bookmarks to show up in the bookmarks bar. The "bookmarks" menu in the bookmarks bar is hiding the last bookmark I have. How do I get rid of that? The top menu already has a bookmarks pull down menu.
I have had my mighty mouse for a couple months and it has worked great on my macbook. Just recently the middle button won't open up the dashboard and the two side buttons go through spaces instead of exposing all windows. In system proferences under mouse and spaces both are set for the middle button to open the dashboard and the side buttons to expose all windows but they don't do that. It could be an easy fix but I don't know what else to try?
This is my first macbook, and I felt like watching borat but when I put the dvd in, the little disk image goes on my desktop but I can't play it. When I open the disk icon it goes to folder called VIDEO_TS inside is a bunch of images and other stuff. Sounds nooby but how do I watch movies on this thing.EDIT: I had to go into VLC manually and go to open disk.. Why cant I just click on the DVD and click play?
#1: Is there a keyboard command that will perform a middle click? I have googled and googled and googled and found hardly any info except something about "option + click", which does not work.Â
#2:Â Is there a way to make the magic mouse perform a middle click?

When I click on any bookmark or bookmark folder, I first get a black screen with what looks like the Safari symbol. This happened just a couple days ago. When I click on the black screen I get a full page at a time. I used to be able to open up bookmarks & folders directly to Safari. How do I return to the normal, usual way of using bookmarks & bookmark folders?
Do you remember in windows; when you want to play an album folder, you hit, right click then play in winamp or play, whatever. That's what I want to do on my mac, how can I do that! I use vox player to listen music, so to play a song I have to doble click on the folder then prees the song, what i want to do is, right click on the folder then show's and option who say "Play in VOX" same's as windows. How can I do that with terminal, any tip? Software?
i dont have my mac in front of me but i was wondering if it is possible to open a file by a single click in Mac OS X. I have set up Ubuntu to do this on my work computer and i find it very cool
I just got a new Mac today and I have a problem. When I click on applications and then for example click on my music folder, it all opens up in a preview and then if i select another folder in my music folder that opens up like a preview as well. Its pretty cool but is there a way for the folder just to open when I click on it like with Leopard?
I'm looking for a way to open 2 programs at the same time when I click one from the dock. My example is opening Spotify, and I want Airfoil to open at the same time to stream the audio.
I've discovered this weird thing and wonder if it's just my system. If I set the double click speed to its maximum value (System Preferences -> Mouse) I can no longer open with double click folders that are on my desktop while it still works from the finder. I got the same thing from the mouse and from the trackpad. I have OS X 10.5.6.
When i click an icon on my desktop it doesnt open i have to click it more then once and sometimes i have to click rapidly fast and more then once for it to open.
I noticed that this problem started last night. When I open anything in Finder or a folder on the desk top and double click it doesn't open. But on the desktop,if I right click the folder and click open it opens. But in finder it doesn't. I have shut down the computer and waited and re-started but still no help. This also happens when I use pages, and numbers.
It's very annoying that sometimes I click an icon that I didn't intend to open. Is there any way to make the apps in dock open with a double click, instead of a single click?
how to open my mail messages (using the Mail app) by just clicking once? It's possible on my Macbook 2008 model using Leopard but my Powerbook is using Tiger.
