Jan 15, 2010
My daughter got a bunch of new movies for Christmas and I would like to back them up before she destroys them. I've got Rip It, Burn, Handbrake, and Visual Hub all at my disposal. What is the easiest way to make a 1:1 backup that will play in a normal DVD player?
can anyone tell me if you can rip an original dvd using handbrake and then burn to a dvd to play on a dvd player, if so what would be the corrrect way to do this, as i have only used a video ts folder and handbrake does not seem to offer this option. i have tried to convert using mtr 13m and fairmount to dvd2one but the resulting files do not burn in toast or just crashes. I am trying to backup: open season and bee movie
I want to backup a few of my rare DVDs that I have. I used RipIt to rip the DVD and now I have a folder with VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS in it. What freeware can I use to burn these to a DVDR so that it plays in any DVD player? I tried DVDRemaster too and I'm having the same issue. The file size is small enough to fit on a single layer DVDR.
I am using MTR r14d and I can rip Blades of Glory but the main title does not play and crashes Apple DVD Player and VLC. Any help or an update to MTR could be helpful. I just got MTR so I am still learning it. Is there a way to check for updates?
I've been googling for and app that would let me convert real media files to format that would let me burn them to dvd and play on a dvd player and that can also be played in quicktime. A free app maybe?
I am looking to backup my sons DVD's, a few have gotten so scratched they skip while they are playing back. I am using my PS3 as a DVD player. What is the best program to rip them to my Mac? Then what do I do if I want to rip them to a DVD that will play in my PS3. Is there a certian format? The more information the better. I have a very vague understanding of how this all works. I did find from MRoogle that RipIt appears to be a really good choice for ripping the DVD to the Mac... but then what? Can I just pop a DVD in and burn it?
I plugged in a Shure AXS1 microphone into the analog stereo line-level input. In the system prefs I set the Input to Line in.The midi panel to built in line input. When recording in Audition the sound level is really low and coming out only on the right channel (speaker). Why is it coming out on one channel?I can deal with a low level sound recording but coming out only on one channel on playback has stumped me. I've been playing with all the settings but no luck.Second. When recording is it normal not being able to hear yourself playfrom the speakers?
I have a .wmv movie I would like to burn to a DVD to play on a standard DVD player connected to my TV (not just on my computer). I have several pieces of software that can convert the .wmv file to another format, but don't know which format I should convert it to.
This has only started happening today, I want to watch a DVD on my iMac, and DVD Player wont play it. I've tried different DVDs and I've also tried playing the movies from Video_TS folders on my HDD, still, it wont play. DVD Player will play a few seconds, then the video and audio will stop and freeze. If I try to click stop, or anything else i get a "Not Permitted" bubble appear, and if I click Pause I get a message "DVD Player has encountered a system error. Error -69889"I've tried totally removing DVD Player, its plist's, and folders and restoring a old versions from Time Machine. Still, nothing works. This also happens in Front Row.UPADTE: I fixed VLC by reinstalling it. But DVD Player and Front Row still dont function.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a player I can use that will play *.mkv files. Upto now, I've used VLC Player but the video I have that I'm trying to play is a 40min file and its 7.5GB because its 1080p. When I play the movie, the error that comes up is that the computer is too slow.
My DVD player software no longer functions on my Powerbook G3 Lombard (Bronze). I had a boot sector problem on my Powerbook and needed to do a wipe and reinstall. I have MacOS X 10.3 and MacOS 9.2.2 on my machine. I am aware that you can't use the 10.3 DVD player and so reinstalled 9.2.2 first. Unfortunately, I cannot find my original Powerbook system disc, so installed 9.2.2 from a G4 system disc I have. Now, the DVD player will not play DVD-Video discs in OS9.
This is a crucial function for me, as I like to watch films on it when I travel on the train. I need to find some software to reinstall from, or fix the hardware incompatibility in some other way (a patch or something). My hardware is: Macintosh Powerbook G3 "Lombard" (Bronze) 400MHz, 256MB RAM, 6GB HD, DVD-ROM. Nobody seems to have the DVD player program (1.3). They say you need 9.1 discs etcetera. I even tried one link that said download DVD player version 1.2 and a tome reader, but the tome reader download site wasn't functioning.
For years now my G4 iBook has been locked to my local Region as far as DVDs are concerned. Up until yesterday I was able to play local and R0 DVDs. Have just tried playing the same and for some reason it won't play anything. DVDs either get auto ejected or I have to restart and keep hitting F12 to get the DVD out.
I have made a movie on my imovie, and it will play on my macmini and my laptop but when I put it in my dvd player it says disc error. How do I get it to play on all dvd players?
I have tried burning my iTunes purchases onto a CD, and when I try to play them back on my CD player, nothing happens. It will play back in iTunes on the Mac, but not on my CD player or in my car. Â
I suspect it has to do with the speed at which they burn, but I have no idea how to change that?
CDs will boot fine, blank DVDs will mount fine, but when I insert a DVD movie; the drive won't mount and the DVD player will not play my discs. DVD Movies Not Played after 10.4.10 / DVD Player 4.6.1 Updates. I currently have a Pioneer DVR-109 installed in my PowerPC G5.

Other question, Im having a problem with my wireless internet. My macbook works fine everywhere else and nobody else i live with have any problems. Just my computer in my house. The internets REALLY slow. I rang NTL and they said its your computer, so rang apple and they did some tests and said its your network so I rang NTL again and they gave me a number for netgear, the people who make the router. They were NO help, you can't call them from a mobile phone and I dont have a housephone. Is there anything I can do?
