View 2 RepliesA radio station that I listen to on-line has switched from a Flash-based player to a Silverlight-based player. Classic FM (in the UK) even have a handy 'How to listen' guide for Macs which talks about their Flash player, but when I click to launch it I get a message telling me to install Silverlight. Is there any way that I can listen to the station on my Mac without installing Silverlight.

I am trying to create a online radio station! I am going to do this on my macbook. I want some kind of program that will broadcast my audio, a online radio station. I want it to be free. Now I am a mac person. I have looked around and I can't see to figure out how to do this! I am going to play a playlist and also I want to have some kind of internet phone line. That can be in a different program. I am want to have a internet radio station where I can have on playlist playing and looping and I will drag in a recording of the person who called. I want it all to be free. Also I need to find some kind of plugin that will only play the audio output of itunes, that is where my playlist will be.

View 2 Replies View Relatedbest program for capturing streaming audio, like radio on iTunes?
Is there a program that can edit the file and export it to iTunes?
when I go to the Radio section of iTunes and the alternative rock section (this probably happens in other sections as well but alternative is the only thing I listen to...) Anyways, it buffers, plays for about 3 seconds, then buffers again... CONSTANTLY.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd been using iTunes for streaming radio happily until the last few days, when the streams started rebuffering every few seconds, making them practically unplayable.
I have a recent iMac, 4GB of RAM and a broadband connection.
iTunes doesn't seem to play WMA streams. I saw some info on the net about saving the stream in Quicktime as a .mov and then dragging the file to the iTunes library, but trying to save the stream in Quicktime just produces a 'Saving' progress bar which progresses at a glacial pace - I think it would never actually finish. Another method mentioned using Flip4Mac but it may be referring to an earlier version as the Preferences panel is different to that mentioned in the instructions (which are a few years old).
So, are there any other ways around this? I'd like to be able to drag the streams into my 'various Radio stations' folder so I can treat it like an mp3 stream.
I was thinking about signing up for the live365.com radio website and wanted to record some audio
What is the best free/pay audio capture program for the Mac please ?
Can it record to mp3 and maybe even strip some of the talking out of the stream.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhat was the first version of iTunes that can plat AAC radio streams? I use a very old G4 500 MHz powermac to listen to iTunes streaming internet radio, but more and more stations are switching to AAC streams, which the old 10.3 compatible version of iTunes doesn't support and won't play them. The current version of itunes' minimum system requirements is a 1 Ghz G4, so I can't use the current version of iTunes. If I upgrade this machine to OS 10.4, will I be able to install a version of iTunes that plays AAC radio streams?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe other day I was listening to a iTunes radio station, and enjoyed it. Like a doofus, I didn't put that stream in a playlist and now I'm left to stare at 395 total streams in that category without a clue as to which one it was. Is there any way to look and see what I was listening to the other day to find the specific stream?
In my search on the internet, I found one thread that referenced listening history back in version 3 and another thread by a person with my same problem that was unanswered.
when listening to the radio the station name shows up with "(null)." in front.

I'm currently looking into online backup solutons for my macbook. I intend to keep backups of all my photo's and home movies.
I've looked into and trialed the following
Mozy - The upload to the web feature worked fine, but when i tried to restore a few files it took ages. It took nearly 4 hours to download a 700mb file which had uploaded in less than 10 minutes. My broadband is cable and is 10mb so i am able to achieve a download speed of around 1mb's
JungleDisk - I really really wanted to try this as the pricing was great and the service looked fantastic. However, seeing as i'm in the UK and don't have a credit card i am unable to persue this any further. FOr some reason Amazon S3 don't accept visa debit cards.
Dropbox - I love this service, however I fully understand that this is a syncing service and not a backup service. If i was able to only upload documents and not have them automatically download to my other machine's or work machine then that would be great.
Since today, I cant login with any online messenger out there. I tried the whole lot, about 10 or so. They al can't seem to make a connection with the internet.
Internet seems to be working fine though, since transmission, limewire and firefox are all up and running.
I'm currently using eBuddy for the time being, but I'd really like a solution for my problem. I've deleted some preference files, but this didn't change anything.
P.S.: If you were to spot some faults/incorrections in this post, please notify, I'm Dutch and would love to improve my language skills.
Has anyone used this software? If so how were your results and would you get rid of your cable for this? [URL]
