I am going to buy a new Macbook soon. Will all the apps I have bought from the Mac Apps store automatically download again with my Apple ID on the new computer?
I noticed that Aperture 3 is priced really, REALLY low on the Mac App Store. So I made the decision to buy it. But... I already have Aperture 2 installed. So what happens when I buy Aperture 3? Does it recognize that I have Aperture 2 installed, and upgrade it, or will it install Aperture 3 alongside Aperture 2?
i am going to upgrade the ram and hard drive in my mbp, and i just have a couple questions. I'm sure there are some other topics about this, but i could not find any.
First i have Microsoft Office 2011 installed, and if i just take out the HDD and install the new one and put MAC OSX on it how would i be able to transfer over my Microsoft Office so i don't lose it and have to buy it again.
Also, should i put in the new ram, let it load up and read the new ram, then install the hard drive, or do it the other way, or just do both at the same time?
Early 2008 MacBook Pro 2.5 Ghz C2D 10.6.4 and Windows XP (Bootcamp/Parallels) 4GB RAM
I've read that I can bump my RAM up to 6GB (despite Apple's said 4GB limit) and with a current sale, I can get a 4GB module pretty cheap so I'm thinking "why not?". I'm planning on installing Windows 7 as well as playing more games on my laptop (my PS3 broke down on me). Would I realize any noticeable performance difference with the extra RAM in Windows 7 and/or OSX?
I am upgrading my RAM to 4 gb. I have a mid-2007 Macbook that came with 2 1gb memory modules factory installed. My question is, will it expand to 3 or 4 gb? According to Wiki, the late-2007 Macbook came with 2 1gb installed, expandable to 4, but does not list a mid-2007 that was installed with 2 1g modules, just 1gb (512mb). Becasue of this, I am unsure what it will actually expand to.
I have an aging mac. (macbook pro 15.4" core duo (2006)) I would like ot breath life into the machine by upgrading the ram. I am thinking of upgrading to 2 gigs from 1. What kind of a performance upgrade am I going to see?
If I unbox my Macbook Pro i7 and upgrade my ram and the SSD without turning on the computer for the first time, will that adversely affect anything? Should I boot and then upgrade those parts?
I have my original white macbook from august 2006 with its original 512mb of ram. I am upgrading to 2 gigs (because thats all it can take). Will I notice a big difference in performance?
Does anyone think that by Apple upgrading the Uni Macbooks to the Pro line, they have just created the space for the tablet to slot into? Before the WWDC keynote, people were wondering where Apple could place a tablet in their line-up but now maybe they've created a slot! Wat u think?? Theres rumors of Steve coming back at the end of the month with a media event. Could it be the tablet? Maybe not, but I definitely think that the tablet will be coming now cause of wat happened today!
I think I am gonna buy my MacBook Pro 13" in the coming weeks. It will be the 2.5Ghz model... I see that its cheaper, if I upgrade the HDD myself. As for Desktop HDD, I normally buy Seagate or Samsung. Do they also make good 2,5" HDD or should I get something else? (Looking for 500GB) I've also heard good things about "WD Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT".
And can I use a 500GB 7200rpm drive with the 13" model(heat problems)? because apple only gives you the option to choose between 5400rpm HDD... 5400rpm is fine for me, but just wanna know. Last question, do you guys think Apple will make any kind of updates before next year? This will be my first Apple notebook.
So I decided to upgrade to this 7200.4 RPM 320 GB Seagate

I wanted to know will I have to take off the enclosure off my current HDD and put it on the Seagate or do I just connect the SATA connector and that's it?
I'm going to buy the new Macbook Pro 13. It comes with 4Gb (2x2GB) but since I use lots of apps + VMWare Fusion I'd like to upgrade it to 6GB. I would replace 1x2Gb stick by a 1x4GB, having in total 6GB (1x2GB, 1x4GB). Do you think it's ok? Will it work? I found this memory on Newegg and it's pretty cheap ($115): [URL]
I have a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. It states the memory as '1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM' I want to upgrade it two at least 2GB Ram and came across 'Kingston 2GB DDR2 667MHZ PC2-5300 SODIMM Memory Module' Heres the link [URL] Is this compatible with my macbook also what is the maximum amount or RAM this macbook will take?
I am wanting to upgrade my RAM on my 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo black Macbook from 2gigs to 4 gigs. The apple website has the RAM in their store for $200. Seems like a good price for Apple backed RAM. Can I order that and have it installed in a local Apple retail store? If so, how much will that cost??
Info: Black Macbook 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
After upgrading to 10.7.3 all my contacts on both adress book and iPhone are gone. what is left are only the ones in iCloud (which only some small numbers of contacts compared the ones on my 'all from my mac'-which was my problem to begin with, why can't it all sync?) luckily for me, the contacts are still there on my MS Outlook contacts, but i cant sync it back to my adress book. does anyone had the same problem?
If I pay for all the add-on upgrades will I be able to use iCloud on my rather old and low spec MacBook Pro? Don't want to spend all that money only to find it doesn't work properly.
I've been trying to upgrade my RAM to 8 GB from the 4 GB on my MacBook Pro Model 7,1, late 2010. My 4 GB runs smoothly; I can get 6 GB to run smoothly, switching 4 GB PNY to banks 0 or 1 without a problem. All memory tests good in either bank. When both 4 GB RAM modules are inserted, the MacBook Pro hangs a few seconds after the gear starts turning on start-up.
I have now tried two pair of 4 GB RAM modules. Same results every time. I am running all the OS updates from Apple using OS 10.6.8. I am now running 6 GB RAM without a hitch. How to get both 4 GB RAM modules to work together so that I'll have the advantages of the full 8 GBytes?
I ordered a retina MacBook Pro base model. I figured I'd only need 8GB but then after I cast my order into the depths of Apple, I was thinking I should have got the 16GB upgrade. But on one hand, I was wondering if the RAM is user-replaceable or do they solder it on the boards now? I can buy another 8GB stick from a 3rd party.
I upgraded my MBP 15" (model MacBookPro5,4) from2X 2Gb to 2X 4Gb HYPERVELOCITY DDR3-1066 MHZ everything runs as per normal but under"About this Mac" it states that I only have 1Gb DDR3 -1067 Mhz, and under "more info"~ memory ity states Bank 0/DIMM0 4GB DDR3 1067 MHZ OK Bank 1/DIMM0 4GB DDR3 1067 MHZ OK
I just went to the Apple store, and my friend (actually she is older than I am, like 15 years in difference. Just got friendly, so I call her 'friend') suggested me 100$ for 4GB upgrade. She told me that it's not possible to upgrade the RAM after the payment, but she is able to do it for me. I'm always paranoid wether the Apple employees will give me the 'older' RAMs or 'used' ones. Should I be? or just trust the employee who will swap it for me.
If I have a choice, I would like to install the new RAM for myself.
I have the late 2008 MBP which has only 2gb of ram. I'm planning on upgrading the ram. With this, I'm just wondering if there is anything one has to know when doing this. Considering that I boot on both windows (bootcamp) and osx, would the ram be recognized immediately? Or do i have to install or do something first before it does. Is it more advisable to reformat the whole computer? Maybe because of some performance issues.
I just recently bought a new Macbook Pro 17" Unibody. It currently has 4GBs of RAM and I would like to upgrade to 8GBs. Before, I had a Macbook Pro 15" ( Old version, 2008 Penryn Version ), and I currently have 6 GBs of RAM inside ( the max, 4 GB + 2 GB ) I also have another spare 2 GB chip and 2 1GB chips for my old Macbook Pro. Would these RAM chips work for my new one, or would I have to buy new RAM?
I am upgrading my Macbook PRO to 1TB hard disk and as I understand, there are only 2 of those 2,5 inch on the market. I wanted to ask you guys to help me choose which one to pick. [URL:....]
