View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac 21.5" Late 2009 3.06 GHz Intel Core Duo 2. OS X 10.9.4. All of a sudden my iSight is no longer recognized. There is no open application using it. It does not show up in the System Profilier.Â
Some people suggest to zap the PRAM but I can't even get my computer to do that. It only chimes once and then stars up normally even though I am holding down the option/command/P/R keys.
I last used iSight several years ago. Since then, I've updated to Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and added RAM. Today when I tried to use Skype, my iMac no longer lists iSight as being present. Not listed on system profiler or applications.

So this evening I finally upgraded my MacBook (1.83GHz, first generation) to Leopard. (I am not a luddite, but rather just really behind the times.) I had previously been using OS X 10.4.11, and upgraded via a retail OS X 10.5.4 installation disk (legally acquired).
Everything seemed to go swimmingly.
But then I noticed that my F7 key, which previously controlled the Expose "All windows" function (indeed, it is labeled as such), has stopped functioning properly. It no longer controls the Expose "All windows" function. That function is now handled by the F9 key.
I have consulted Google, and have tried a number of potential fixes. I've tried to reassign the key function(s) via both the Keyboard & Mouse pane and the Expose & Spaces pane in the System Preferences. No dice.
Could someone give me a direct comparison between resolution on iSight on my macBook and iPhone camera.

Title is pretty self-explanatory. I have a year old 15" MBP (unibody, but not the absolute newest) and after the trackpad software update the click button on the bottom third of the trackpad no longer does anything. I tried to disable tapping and to my horror I could not tap or click or do anything until I plugged in a USB mouse and turned tapping back on - so the issue was worse than I thought.
I don't have any third party gesture software or anything crazy like that. Sorry if this has already been brought up - didn't see it in my first couple searches.
I've had my Magic Mouse since last thursday (29th Oct) and i've noticed the 2 finger swipe gesture no longer actually functions. I'm trying it in Safari (with history available to swipe through) and its definately enabled in the system preferences.
Instead of doing the swipe gesture it now just scrolls left and right. Its also not a case of positioning my fingers wrong as it used to work around 2 days ago and now it definitely no longer works.
I'm going to re-pair it a few times and replace the batteries but if it doesnt magically come back I will be replacing it.Just curious if anyone else who has had their magic mouse for this long has lost this gesture too?

i am new to the mac, im using macbook. I don't know how ro use isight camera. how to capture a picture or take a video using isight camera.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to disable my Isight on a couple of computers used at our library. Under MacHints I found out that, when a program from OS X (Tiger at least) needs to access the integrated iSight camera, it has to call the QuickTimeUSBVDCDIgitizer.component. This file is located in the /System Library QuickTime folder.
How can I find this folder? When I search for it does not come up.
Or did anybody else figure out a way to disable this.
Oh, yeah, taping over it is a good suggestion but clever people just removed.
The little green light of the iSight camera on my MacBook Pro 13" is always on. I can remove it by resetting the PRAM, but it always comes back. I have not found what app is triggering this so far. I am using Mac OS Lion 10.7.3.Â

Now that we have this new "FaceTime Camera," I'm curious to know how the resolution compares to the previous iSight camera. Is it still .3 megapixels or do we finally have a 1.3 megapixel camera like all the other Macs?? Can someone open PhotoBooth, take a picture of and do a "Get info" please?
View 12 Replies View RelatedApple calls the camera built into the MBA a "FaceTime" camera instead of an iSight camera. What exactly does this mean?
From my understanding, the available APIs from Apple only allow the iSight and FaceTime cameras to record at the same resolution (VGA 640x480). However, the iSight camera is capable of 1280x1020...does this mean the FaceTime camera isn't?
it's the subject of my next YouTube video and demo.
Does it work under Bootcamp?
Also, if so, does the green light come on when active, like on the Mac?
For the MBP in my sig.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a white macbook (the gen. before the unibody), everything works fine except that sometimes the isight camera turn on by itself. This sometimes happens immediately at the start up and other times when the system is already loaded. The result is the same, the isight camera doesn't work and when i try to use it i get simply a black screen. For to make it works again i need to shutdown the mac and sometimes even to remove the battery. I don't think it can be a Trojan or some virus since i switched to Snow few weeks ago doing a full installation from zero and this trouble still occur even with the new system?

Sometimes I use iMovie and my iSight camera for lengthy recordings (6+ minutes). But I need a little more flexibility with camera angles. Is there a camera available that works though Bluetooth, USB, wifi, etc that basically becomes a detached iSight? Or do I need to buy a hand held video camera?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently bought a refurbished macbook pro off apple and for some reason the isight camera is not working efficiently. Whenever I'm video chatting with my friends on ichat, the video window just automatically shuts off. Whenever I use photo booth the camera keeps shutting on and off giving me a message camera is not connected. I went to the apple store and they replaced my camera but still this issue keeps happening. I did an archival install of osx and nothing helped. I whipped the hard drive and did an install of osx and that still didnt help. What should I do!!
