I only read information how I can transfer one document at a time, but I have thousands of documents to transfer from my iDisk which will disappear at June 30th. In MobileMe I was using iDisk as an automatic backup system. With the software from Backuplist I made a backup from my hard disk tot iDisk. How can I transfer all of this to Pages?

After moving the file to the trash, and confirming that I want to delete it, I get a message stating "The operation can't be completed because the item "personal.doc" is in use." How to delete this file? The format is a password protected Word document.

Apr 21, 2012I have waited as long as possible to upgrade to Lion because SL works fine for me.But iDisks days are numbered and I have no choice but to upgrade.I have a lot of work files in iDisk.Now I need to get them to iCloud, but I am not sure how to do so or even if I can do so.As a precaution, I've put them (or most of them until I ran out of free space) into Dropbox.Now Dropbox wants me to pay $99/year for more space.I paid that for mobileme and was okay with it, but now it gripes me that I have to pay for something non-Apple (that was the whole reason I left the pc world) because what Apple now has (iCloud) won't do what I need it to do.

ICloud :: Backup To Idisk Not Working?
Jul 4, 2012From my Mac (OSX 10.7.4, all updates current) the Backup application to iCloud has stopped working.Â
When I look at iCloud in system preferences I see that I have 23.77GB of 25GB available. I edited the Backup schedule, and was able to re-establish a backup with iDisk as the destination. System Preferences says that my iDisk usage is 21.47GB total, 8.37GB used, 13.11GB available. iDisk sync is off.
When I run the backup, it all looks happy for a few seconds, and then I see the message "This plan has never been backed up to this destination". I have never used Back to My Mac.Â
What I want is to be able to automatically backup my Mac to storage on the Internet, for which I (thought) I have paid Apple. What do I need to do in order to get Backup working again?Â

Mar 2, 2012I spent some time avoiding Lion after being part of seeding, even to the extent of buying a new MacPro last year, that would not require Lion. I wish to stay with Snow Leopard until a new OS apeals to me, might be Mountain Lion, might be Puma or Lynx. I now see that I have been caught out - MobileMe, iCal, iSync, iDisk etc will end and move (with limited comparability to MobileMac) to iCloud, and so far, it seems that this requires Lion exclusively!Â
Is this really so? Has Apple really become so violently unfriendly to its friends and associates - its Users, that it will actively and knowingly ignore their pleas, for a return to intelligent Operating Systems and Applications - I was told recently that Apple was only interested in those who are not yet Mac users. This would be very sad.Â
It does fit though with Apple's behaviour regarding FCP - I'd used used FCP since version 1, now I must stay with the ever aging version 7 or go to Adobe or Avid - neither of whom I enjoy working with. I might just have to invest huge money into a Heavyworks or Quantel system - I loathed FCPX! But really this is ultimately about Apple's direction. Why has it now become so narrow, when once it was possible to be many versions behind the current and still function?

We do not use iCloud presently. In preparation for Mountain Lion, I am considering turning on iCloud in system preferences. It is possible or advisable for us to have two iCloud accounts? I ask that because she has exclusive use of our one iPad and I have exclusive use of our one iMac. Since iCloud facilitates sharing of data among devices, is there any reason to have one iCloud account synching the MBP and the iPad, and another synching the MBP and my iMac?
