May 3, 2010i have an old G3 that wont play video, i know its an old computer but i thought that it probably should be able to.

Jul 16, 2008When I try to watch my videos on vlc it plays way too slow and shows up.

Apr 23, 2012I own an iMac G5 (not the iSight Version), and I have everything up-to-date (10.5.8). Whenever I try to play a video(be on YouTube, or even on the Mac itself) it doesn't play smoothly, like it plays a few seconds, stops, then plays again.

Mar 27, 2010i have a brand new imac and i am having some problems on a few web sites, not all websites. when i try to make the video full screen it doesn't work. for example, if i go to www.theahl.com i can't make the game highlight clips play on full screen. but if I go to www.whl.ca, i don't have a problem. They both go full screen on my husband's pc.
i made sure adobe flash player was updated..

Nov 24, 2006So I bought this 600mhz iMac G3 for a friend. It has a CD-RW, but not a DVD drive, so I installed Tiger by putting the iMac into Firewire Target Disk Mode and installing Tiger via my PowerBook G4.
It works and boots, but somehow I get the feeling that there is something wrong with video acceleration. I mean, even though its an iMac G3, it has a 16mb Rage 128 Ultra AGP... it should be able to play 320 x 240 Sorenson movies full screen just fine. It also should do iTunes visualizers with "faster but rougher display" enabled just fine (remember those iTunes visualizer commercials from when the iMac G3 was still current?).

Aug 2, 2008I'm new here and I've done a little searching and can't find an exact answer to my situation:I want to convert my video from my iMac and my iBook to my 37" LCD HDTV (Vizio) which has a VGA input already on it.Now, I have a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter already for my iBook, however, the adapter will not work on the Mini-DVI port on my iMac.
My question is: Does anyone know where I can get a cheap alternative to convert Mini-DVI (for my Intel iMac) to VGA with at least 50-75 feet of cable?

Sep 18, 2010When I try to watch any CNN video, nothing plays. WHen I click on the play/pause indicator I get "02:37" in large type across the video area. The same thing happens to any video. It happens in Safari, Firefox, and in IE in virtual Windows through VMWare. THe same thing happened earlier in the year, then it seemed to resolve itself for a few months but now the problem is back. Mar 10, 2010I just finished editing an HD photo montage and decided to export it as an H.264 quicktime file. I was aiming for a high bitrate since the pictures are in motion, and I ended up with a 1080p30 file averaging roughly 20-40 mbps. I know this is extremely high, but I wanted a blu-ray quality encode.
Playback on my TV via PS3 looks great, but for whatever reason, this file is bringing my 8 Core, 10 gig RAM Mac Pro to its knees. Opening the file in quicktime results in horrible stuttering playback, while VLC will start playing smoothly at first and then crash, citing "computer too slow" as a possibility for the error.
I'm having a hard time believing that this machine can't playback a high bit rate H.264 file. Any ideas? Oddly enough, the activity monitor is showing only moderate usage of system resources during playback.
Safari Won't Play Video?
Feb 22, 2012Safari on my wife's iMac does not display video. Our home page has a video imbeded that plays just fine on my Mac Pro and we are both using the latest OS, 10.7.3, and the latest version of Safari, 5.1.3. She also has Firefox installed and it plays the video just fine. When I check her installed plug-ins, she has the QuickTime Plug-in 7.7.1, just as I do. Why does video show up in my setup, but not on my wife's iMac when we are using the same software. Do I need to re-install Safari?

Jun 9, 2012I am not sure why but my computer froze and I had to re-boot it. Since then I cannot run any video on you tube. I get a message that says "this video is currently unavailable". Does not matter what video it is. BTW, My MacBook works fine so I know it is not internet related.
