I received a fitness device and downloaded the software. It didn't download to my Applications folder and I wasn't smart enought ot make sure I saved it there. Could it be as simple as dragging an icon to the trash or how do you remove/uninstall an application?

After installing Lion, I can no longer move program icons from my applications folder to a sub folder. When I do, it makes a copy and leave the original in the applications folder. When I then try to delete the icon in the applications folder it tells me it's required by the OS and won't let me delete. I'm forced to keep certan applications such as Time Machine and Stickies in the application folder.

I would like to create a Smart folder that only has applications & utilities in a sub-folder.Â
This will be similar to the default applications folder that shows in the dock, but without all the extra files & folders - just a list of applications.Â
I can do this by esily by just having a smart folder of applications showing only type=application.
However, I would still like to have utilities in a sub-folder.Â
If thats not possible, then it would be OK to have 2 seperate smart folders, 1 for apps excluding utilities & 1 for utilities only.Â
Is there some way in the smart folder options i can exclude a sub directory?
I lost the applications folder off my dock. How do I get it back?

All I can see is the finder menubar, but it's not active. I've tried using Quicksilver to move it back into the Applications folder, but it gives me an error each time. I've also tried opening the Pictures folder in terminal like this: open ~/Pictures/ but it obviously can't open until I move the Finder app.

My Applications were in an Applications Folder on my HD folder so I decided to move them to what I think is the correct place to have them the Applications Folder that is in my Home Folder.I tried to move it but it wouldnt move directly so I copied it to the Desktop and from the Desktop moved it into the Home Folder Applications Folder. So far so good.I then wanted to delet the original Applications from the HD folder.I can't delete it so now I have duplicate Application Folders and duplicate Applications.how I might delete the origial folder? My application folder appears to have "split" from the applications shortcut in the Finder window. The shortcut under Favorites contains all my applications, while the folder itself contains none...When I get info on both of them, I see the following:
App Shortcut: "Where: /"

Also, I've only had one new software download that saved itself to the Applications folder (at location "/Users/SarahSteeds"). All others have been directed to the shortcut (at location "/")

In the office where I work with my Mac there's a Canon copier/scanner model iR2318. Months ago I downloaded and installed the Lion compatible drivers required that worked fine. Yesterday (with no reason, no changes, nothing at all: just working) the printer started to refuse to print as it asked for a different paper format: A4 or Letter. Despite many attempts to specifically send print jobs in A4, which is the paper format loaded in the tray, the printer continued to refuse all prints.Today I ended up removing the printer from the list, as it became unnecessary, and I also liked to uninstall the printer driver as well, since Canon released a newer version.Currently, when trying to reinstall the printer, 2 drivers are displayed: UK and US. This lets me assume that those 2 drivers are still installed in my system: I wanted to remove both of them and start from scratch by reinstall the driver and he printer as the system was new. How can I remove the driver, so that Lion won't recognize it and that I could make a clean install of the previous working printer?

I got so mad at it duplicating my contacts and rushed into the Applications folder and dragged it to the trash and now I cannot get rid of it. It's still showing up in my Address Book because it has a little tab off to the right that clickable. i installed Divx on my MP to watch movies. then i installed WC3, but it keeps crashing. it seems that divx is the reason.
(i figure WC3 plays a small clip when we run it for the first time, and there might be some sort of conflict in the video codec, so WC3 crashes)
I deleted PS cs3 and wanted to reinstall it but when I go to install it it tells me to use a different installer. It also says that photoshop is intalled which it isnt. I have all the other applications like illustrator and stuff. How do I completely get rid of photoshop? I also dont have the original installer because im traveling.

So, I know I can reinstall the entire app from scratch with my Leopard disk. My question is, how do I completely and utterly remove any traces of Maill.app on my computer...err?
I don't care about preferences, e-mails, none of it. I just want the app gone.
there is no uninstall option and i don't want the icon there if i'm not going to use it.
