I have a hard drive which is attached to my iMac 24*7. I plan to move all my movies & pictures over to it. Would the Time Machine backup (through a different hard drive) backup my Hard drive?

I have an external 500gb drive plugged into my brand new Time Capsule. The 500gb drive basically stores my entire library of music and my iTunes points to this external drive.
Is it possible to have time machine backup all information on the 500gb drive to the time capsule, so encase the external drive takes a dump, I don't loose my entire music library? Maybe time machine is already doing this, I am not sure.
I want to wirelessly time machine backup to my time machine hard drive already attached to my iMac.

I am trying to get Time Machine to backup my external hard drive. I have the external drive formated as Mac OS Extended (journaled) and I have also removed the drive from the Excluded list.I put some 'test' files on the external drive and told TM to do a backup and when it is finished the only way I can see my external hard drive in TM is if it is connected to the computer. It doesn't seem to be backed up anywhere in TM that I can see.

Basically I have a 750GB hard drive in my Macbook Pro and over 300GB is taken up with 'BackUp' data. This is more than the total of everything I have on the drive other than that. Time Machine has always been setup on an external drive and when searching all files on the Macbook there is nothing for backup files so don't know where it is coming from.

Recently this external hard drive I have spun down right in the middle of a Time Machine backup. It ended up freezing my Mac for a second so I turned it off only to have it come up saying it was corrupt and needed a format. I did that and it seemed to work fine only to see it would never eject (it had nothing on it but it claimed programs were using it) so I was forced again to shut it off without ejecting.
This time I turned it back on and it didn't (and still doesn't) appear for about 15 mins.. now SL says "Can't be read" and when I go to disk utility it just shows the drive (no volumes, everything like partioning and erasing is all greyed out)
I'm trying to backup the contents of my MacBook Pro wirelessly to an external hard drive that is connected to a Mac Mini in my living room. All the tutorials I've read say to create a sparsebundle file with the same name as the one that's found in the folder of your Time Machine backup.

I have plugged in an external hard drive into my time capsule via the usb input. I have a main router for my network and internet and time capsule is connected to this wirelessly. I have 1 TB hard drive and used about 650 MB for the first back-up. Obviously I don't have enough to back up everything for a second time. I just want to back up the new stuff. When I go to exclude the current external from the new back up, it's grayed out. Do I have to delete the contents of the hard drive and re-back up the entire computer?

Since the harddrive of my IMac was full, I added an external harddrive to the system for my photos. I have a external HD which has always worked fine under snow leopard. Since upgrading to lion I keep getting the following message The identity of the backup disk has changed since the previous backup.The disk may have been replaced or erased, or someone may be trying to trick your computer into backing up to the wrong disk. And after this the drive disappears from the desktop appearing agian only after restart. What can I do do rectify this? Delete and re-intialise the drive?

I have removed the exclusion of MyBook so that Time Machine backs it up but so far it has refused to do so. It is happily backing up the internal drive. I have looked in the Mac OSX Leopard Missing Manual but still have no clue as to what I am missing. The initial setup (and backup) did not include MyBook until I discovered that I would have to remove it from the exclusions.
