OS X V10.7 Lion :: Adobe Flash Player: Can Use It Safely
Apr 19, 2012
Lion 10.7.3 on a new mac mini. I learned about the Flashback trojan virus, I disabled Java in Safari preferences as per tech articles, I have all the updates including the Flashback removal tool. I go to NPR.org to listen to some audio podcasts as well as other news articles and I get a notice "You need to install Adobe Flash Player v.8 to view item." My understanding is Java is needed for me to use Adobe Flash Player using Safari on my new mac mini Will I ever be able to view these numerous sites requiring Adobe Flash safely with my new Apple computer?
not sure if i really have a question here other than just my previous knowledge of the whole adobe issue but is it safe to DL adobe flash on the OS? is saved to disk image. etc.im also wondering where that file (adobe flash player) goes after installation.
Have just downloaded Adobe Flash and went to do permissions where I found the file "install_ flash_ player_ osx." and also the icon with "Flash Player" directly underneath. These are listed under the list of drives to select on left side of pane. Is this normal? Do I need to do permissions? On HD?
I recently had to get a new iPhone because my last one died. I've purchased all of my music through iTunes and got the majority of the songs back on my phone. About 50 songs won't transfer back though. I tried drag and dropping and checking the sync music button and re-syncing my phone and nothing has worked. All the songs are downloaded and in iTunes, but nothing is working. Does anyone know why they won't transfer?
I've been having an issue with my flash player for a long time now. Basically, whenever I go to a site such as [URL] the box where the movie should be just says: Click Here to Download Plugin, and whenever I click to download it, the automatic download fails and I have to go to the manual download. Well, that all works fine (I've tried both the .dmg and the .zip files) until it opens the Adobe Flash Page after the download and installation are complete, and I still get that message that I need to download the plugin that I definitely JUST downloaded and installed.
This has been going on for a very annoying two weeks now, and I've even gone through my desktop and deleted a bunch of my stuff in order to free up my memory and get my computer running a tad bit faster, but that didn't do anything. Frankly, I'm annoyed, and just one step from taking my computer to the store and getting them to look at it.
I have an Imac G5 Model: PowerMac8.2 CPU Type: Power PC G5 (3.0)
This error keeps popping up on firefox. The only sites I am on are neopets (lol) and this! It's not really doing it on here but it does it every time I click something on NP. It says... "Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
The following local application on your computer or network: javascriptarent.payload1040 is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location: [URL]
To let this application communicate with the Internet, click Settings. You must restart the application after changing your settings." When i use firefox and on the neopet website. Suddenly, there is a message adobe flash player security has stopped an unsafe operation and something about javascript. something that try to connect internet. it appear many times. there is a option to click ok or setting.

Ether way, can omeone help me with my computer settings just to rule-that-out please?
-I have Mac OS 10.2.8 - and am trying to download Adobe Flash Player 9
-- Each time, I try to install it, and it stalls...with four additional components to install...and it just keeps running, never installing the four remaining components.
-- I tried downloading the Adobe Extensions Manager (version 1.8), because I found some posts relating to the problem I am having with Flash Player, but when I tried to run the em_install.dmg, I got an error about it failed to mount due to error 95, (no mountable file system)? so I stopped trying to go this route.
where does adobe flash player install? I know it is a plugin, but I do not always want to open a browser to view flash material, I want to link up a flash document on a teaching CD so that it will start when I click on the link.
i had flash player 9 on my mac os x 10.2.8 then for some reason its gone and i cant play videos.i tried reinstalling it but im only getting the file not the pkg.
I have a PowerMac G5 computer, running OSX Version 10.4.11. Up until yesterday, the computer performed flawlessly. Suddenly, yesterday, I get a message from Firefox (the browser I usually use), telling me that my Flash Player had been disabled because I did not have the most up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player. When I investigated, I found out that the newest version was NOT compatible with my computer. So I tried reinstalling the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player that IS compatible and have had no success. When I go in to System Preferences and click on the Adobe Flash Player pane (under other), I get a message reading "could not load Adobe Flash Player." Someone out there must know how to handle this. I'm not in a position to purchase a new computer, and I desperately need Flash Player for some of the websites I use quite often.
I was trying to watch videos on facebook but I was unable to due to the fact that it said that adobe flash player was out of date. I therefore uninstalled adobe flash player and tried to reinstall it from adobe's website. When I try to reinstall it, the icon bounces at the bottom of the page but does not open. Everytime I have done this, it says the "application not responding".Â
Info: MacBook (13-inch Aluminum Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Adobe Flash installer completes successfully, but web sites requiring Flash still say that I need to install Flash. None of the relevant files are present, and the Adobe diagnostic page shows only empty boxes where the Flash version should be listed. This problem occurs with Safari 5.1.4 and 5.1.5 running on Mac OS 10.6.8?
