Jan 29, 2009
i couldn't find any answers on any other sites so i thought i would turn to the experts!
i have a brand new 13" unibody macbook (2.0gHz, 2GB DDR3 RAM, and 160GB HD) bought from apple around new years.
anyways i am about to perform some upgrades (crucial RAM to 4GB, and a 320GB or 500GB hard drive update).. and i have a question reguarding the OS X EULA statements.

Sorry for this silly question, bit I read a lot of threads where the point is to clone a HD to one another. When doing so, with the applications installed, does it mean that the copy is fully functional, applications are copied and run despite protection codes, etc.. ?? It means that everyone can clone its applications on someone else HD and up and running ?

9to5 suggests that installing OS X on an MSI Wind is both legal and easy. Their links to instructions for this machine aren't too clear. If it is legal, seems like a great Xmas gift for the 3 year-old who only knows OS X, but whom we would prefer be on her own machine.

I deleted the "hidden" private folder on my mac, but that still on trash. Now the big problems are:
- when I try to open Terminal to move the folder from the trash to my hard disk, appears a message that says: the administrator doesn't specified your shell with a legal value.
- I can't change the date and time;
- well almost nothing.

I -honestly- installed an illegal copy of iLife '08 just before the '09 came out, to try it. However, about 1 week later -or so- I bought the real thing (Legal copies of iLife & iWork).
Problem is:
when I tried installing the new version, it actually updated the older version, and the illegal copy serial number is still the registration number after-all!
Is there a way to solve this & go completely legal without loosing any of my files? (especially iPhoto)?

I purchased this printer, and I thought that it was able to print legal paper. However, I been looking through the manual, and also been searching online. It "mentions" that it can, but there are no instructions on how to.
I was wondering IF someone does has this printer, are you able to printer on legal paper & how were you able to?

I recently bought a 17-inch iMac from eBay for a sweet price, it's here now, in literraly new condition. It had Leopard on it, and I wanted to wipe it, and reinstall OSX using my Macbook Pro's Tiger Disc. Wait, isn't that illegal? No. I had Tiger on my Mac, upgraded it to Leopard. Now the Tiger disc is no longer used on the computer. Unfortunately unnoticed by me the Tiger disc was a Macbook Pro install disc. So I had recently upgraded my Macbook Pro to Snow Leopard. Now, the thing was, the Tiger disc and the Leopard upgrade disc was freed up from binding to my Macbook Pro. The iMac came, I wiped it's hard drive using the Macbook Pro Tiger Disc. Whoopsie. I tried installing Tiger on the iMac. No juice. I then learned that that tiger disc was limited to use for the Macbook Pro. So then I pulled out the Snow Leopard disc (Single License), and I 'm installing it on the iMac. This is not legal.
