I'm trying to spoof my MAC address, using 10.5.6 (intel imac) and connecting via wired ethernet.
I've been googling this for a while to no avail... seemingly it was possible on earlier versions of OSX but maybe not 10.5...
I'm getting a new iMac delivered on Tuesday, but I'm in student accommodation, and the internet (which costs �90 a pop!) is set to a certain mac address, namely the one for my old macbook.

sudo ifconfig en0 ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx command), but does that change it change it permanently or just make it look different? Say, for example, if I had to reformat, or say, boot into windows with boot camp, would I need to change it again or would it be set permanently?
I hope this is the right forum. Recently I received a bunch (4-6 over 2 days) of "returned" undeliverable e-mails from a variety of servers. They all contained the same, vile e-mail that I did not send. I spoke to my ISP CSR- he did not know what the issue was.
