View 1 RepliesSo over the past few months I have noticed this small bug/glitch in iTunes... and it is very annoying.
I cannot drag songs from playlists into different order. iTunes just doesn't let me drag at all.
I have to quit iTunes, then restart it. It will work for one time, but as soon as I got back to "Library" and then try to go back and edit a playlist, I have to exit iTunes.
Any fix for this?
Just like the title says Throughout the life of iTunes, I have been able to do this. Now, I cannot. It's super annoying, as I now have to go and sync each individual file. I've got thousands of files. It would drive me crazy to individually check each one to sync. Drag 'n' drop is much easier.
The only difference has been that I stopped using a mouse and began to use the Apple Magic Trackpad. I'm not sure if this has had any deleterious effect.

I've had the last two versions of Keynote and just upgraded to iWork '09. In the past I could drag a file from iTunes and drop it on to a slide and that song would be there. Now when I drag it over I get the green + sign, but when I try to drop it, nothing happens. I can still add the same file by using the media browser and searching for it in my iTunes playlist, but that takes significantly longer.
I use a lot of sound files in my presentations and it's much faster and more convenient to find them in iTunes and drag-drop them into Keynote.
I don't know what happened but all of a sudden itunes won't let me drag and drop a song onto my ipod or iphone, It won't even let me drag and drop a song in a playlists within itunes.

I have most of my music hosted on an FTP server, so I'm looking for a way to drag and drop from the FTP server (connected either through Finder, or any other client) into iTunes, and then have iTunes copy the music to my library. That way I don't have to download it to my local HDD, then import into iTunes, then delete the orginal. Just skipping a ton of extra work if I can drag and drop. Currently, I only get disconnected from the server if I try to drag and drop from Finder, and get nothing from Filezilla, and Transmit.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI buy a lot of old cd's bc they are cheaper than buying them on itunes store, and i have a hard copy just in case. when i add the cd's to my itunes, they automatically go into Recently Added. I have a folder titled "Non Language" that I would like to move them to, but I can't highlight and copy them.
View 1 Replies View Related I'm using iTunes 9.2.1 and I hadn't noticed any issues but then today for no reason at all when I connected my ipod touch to my computer to charge it, iTunes opened (as normal) and all my music was missing along with all my playlists. Why did this happen & does anyone know a fix for this?? I checked my HDD#2 (where all my music is located) and it's all there...
Prior to this update I could drag an album into my iPhone then drag another and it woud simply add those songs to the list being loaded. Not anymore! Now iTunes stops loading the first album, thiknks for a bit and loads the second drag. Utterly useless! I usually drag a selection of purchased and other songs in every couple of weeks for my daily commutes with this 'new' setup it would take a week to drag in a playlist coz I have to wait for every album!

I recently purchased a new ipod touch. When I plug it into itunes, it says I need to update my itunes version to 10.6. If I update to this, will all my songs, playlists, etc. still be saved in itunes?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll my playlists are carefully put together, but when I sync the playlist from my computer to my phone or vis versa, random songs are left out of the playlists. I've found no pattern as to which songs remain or are lost, but the songs are still individually on the phone or computer, just not present in the playlists.

My purchased songs do not appear in my library. And, none of my playlists appear. I haven't used my iPod in a while and I want to update it with new songs. If I try to sync it, I think all of the songs will be deleted from my iPod.

I've been using iTunes ever since it came out and I use it all the time. Suddenly today I can't move songs around in my playlists. I tried making a new playlist and moving songs from the library into it and even that doesn't work (I can't actually move a song from my music library into any playlist any more)
I've checked through all the other threads where people have had this problem and done everything suggested but nothing is working. I do have the playlist number arrow highlightedI do have manual ordering turned on in the view optionsI've logged out and restarted several timesI have shuffle turned off
The only possible thing I can think of is that I got an invitation to upgrade to iTunes 11.4 which I said I would download, but although I've been taken into the app store, nothing is showing. Could it be something to do with iTunes 11.4 or the app store?

When I have an Iphone or Ipod attached to the computer and showing up in Itunes, I was just wondering how to drag and drop movies or music directly to the media device, without first dragging it into the Itunes media library or into a playlist. I used to be able to do this. Since then, I must have updated Itunes or reinstalled it or something. But now I can't drag and drop anything directly onto the media player. I can't create new playlists directly on the media player either (I have to open them under "Playlists" and then checkmark them to be synched. I'm assuming there must be some sort of simple setting in the options that I've changed.

I don't know when this started, but it's been the case for months: let's say I drag 10 albums' worth of files to copy to my iPhone (under manually manage music)--that will take a minute or so to copy via wi-fi. But, now, if I drag another album over to copy before the previous batch of 10 has finished transferring, the 10-album transfer is canceled, and the new album starts copying in its place. Before, dragging new files over to the phone during a copy would add to a "queue" such that your current copy job was not canceled.

I freaking hate iTunes. Programs for simple tasks like uploading music onto devices should be efficently coded, not resource hogs that are incredibly unintuitive and needlessly complicated. Why can't we just drag and drop music and videos directly onto our phone like we can with just about every other media player? I already have all of my music organized just as I want it on my computer. Just let me drag the folders I want directly into the iPhone without having to bother with a 100mb download that runs like crap.
There's absolutely no excuse why such a simple function needs such a complicated program. Quote:..................

It's the weirdest thing. I can drag a few songs out onto the desktop, then it stops letting me. Only a restart fixes this temporarily.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running iTunes 11.2.2, which I assume is the most recent download.
During playback of songs in iTunes I get momentary audio drop outs or interruptions of songs. They happen once every 45 seconds or so but it varies, and they are not consistent from playback to playback (they happen at different times in the song when the song is played multiple times).

I have a brand new MBP. I have a 1tb external drive with 250gb's of music. I have it attached to my mac via USB. I CANNOT GET ITUNES TO CREATE A NEW LIBRARY ON THE EXTERNAL DRIVE. I CANNOT DRAG AND DROP OR ADD FILE/FOLDER.
But get this, I hook it up to my old Dell and I can do whatever I want. I am friggin pissed that I spent all this money on Mac equip and can't get it going. You may have seen my other post where I posed my issue of: 1tb ethernet drive hooked to airport extreme. Above mentioned 1tb hooked up to back of it via usb. I am completely unable to copy, move, or add files using my mac. But guess what. my pc handles it easily and quickly.
Trying to backup to an external hard drive. Just realized that computer will not drag and drop, or copy and paste folders.

I have a Mac running OSX. This morning we could no longer drag and drop icons anywhere on the desktop. I googled, and have tried a few things - ran 'Repair Permissions' under disk utility, deleted the /Library/Caches/com.apple.dock.iconcache#username#, but neither things works.
