View 4 RepliesApple on Tuesday released an update to its Boot Camp dual-booting software for owners of its most recent 13-inch MacBook Pros and also equipped developers with yet another beta of its impending Mac OS X 10.6.4 Update. Boot Camp Update for MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010). According to Apple, the Boot Camp update addresses an issue that causes the Boot Camp Control Panel applet to display an error when the brightness tab is selected. It also fixes a glitch that left some users with no headphone sound. The update, which applies to theMacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) running Windows operating systems, is available for Windows 32 bit partitions and Windows 64-bit partitions.
Mac OS X 10.6.4 build 10F58
Separately on Tuesday, the Mac maker also pushed out Mac OS X 10.6.4 build 10F58, which arrived exactly one week after the company latest seeded developers with a beta (build 10F54) of the forthcoming Snow Leopard update. People familiar with the latest distribution say it swelled roughly 5MB in size to 581.3MB, but otherwise contained all the same focus areas and enhancements as the build that preceded it. Mac OS X 10.6.4 remains clear of known issues, those same people say. [View this article at AppleInsider]
I'm running 10.4.11, and each time I run the software updater, go through all the stages...download, install, restart etc... I open the software updater again, and the update is there again waiting to be installed!
This update is that recent Safari 4 one. I've repaired permissions and tried again, but had the same result. Any ideas for a perplexed mac user?

View 1 Replies View Relatednow that everythings is working again, I'm planning on upgrading my HD and buying Snow Leopard as well as Windows 7, but I'm holding off untill the release of the offical bootcamp drivers.Untill then I wonder if I can upgrade my current bootcamp drivers. I'm still running Tiger OS and the beta bootcamp on wich I installed XP, SP3. I can imagine that my drivers are hopelessly outdated, with the exception of Nvidia drivers. My Question: Can I just upgrade my currect XP drivers to bootcamp 3.0? If so, what is the correct procedure for it? I can't find any conclusive information on that through forums and google.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI like Safari's U.I. very much, but, everytime I load around 5 pages at the same time it starts to freeze and give me the rainbow circle on the mouse pointer. If I open the same sites with Camino everything works great and even faster than Safari.
I do not want to quite switch to Camino, because its UI is ugly, but its really superior to Safari on speed terms and has the same compatibility as Firefox, because its Gecko engine (?).
I will miss Top Sites and Safari's UI so much
How your Safari works? Is it fast and freeze free?
My mate installed Mac OS X 10.8 Beta on my macbook but the majority of my DJ'ing software isn't backwards compatible... How can I get OS X 10.7 again?

I'll probably upgrade my version. I like Forklifts blend of power without the feature creep.
Apple this week is reported to be testing the first internal builds of Mac OS X 10.5.8, one of the final updates, if not the last, slated for its current Leopard operating system software.News of this particular maintenance update is significant for owners of PowerPC-based Macs, given that Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard requires a Mac with an Intel processor. That means Mac OS X 10.5.8 or 10.5.9 will likely represent Apple's final push towards solidify and stabilize Leopard before shifting the majority of its resources towards the first point release of Snow Leopard, which will arrive this fall.

Firefox Sync is now integrated into the browser
A new tab overview feature has been added
New API for accelerated JavaScript animations
Buffered property in HTML5 video supported
There have also been a bunch of other changes that affect add-on developers, detailed here.
Is it illegal to share 10.6.5 Beta? I assume it probably is but I'd like confirmation, the thing is 10.6.5 will be available for free at some point, so I was wondering if sharing the beta release illegal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI accidentally updated MacFuse from 2.0.3 to 2.1.5 beta (was checking if there was a new beta version, went to uncheck "Show Beta Version" and stupidly clicked "install" instead). I can't remember if 2.1.5 beta was a "safe" release of MacFuse. I was checking for updates as I am going to rebuild the Windows install on my MBP and am now worried that 2.1.5 might cause issues. Is 2.1.5 beta "stable"? If not, is it possible to downgrade back to 2.0.3? I've read in a few random posts around the internets that say its not a good idea to do this.If I uncheck the "Show Beta Version" box, MacFuse wants to "update" from 2.1.5 to 2.0.3. Guessing that would be a very bad idea?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeems Glimmerblocker isn't working with the beta release of Safari 4. Anyone have any luck blocking ads? Also, I'd love to block flash. The inability to block flash is probably the main reason I could never use Safari full time. The browser looks amazing and is very snappy, but alas.... I need plugin support.

I have deleted the plist, reset Safari, uninstalled and reinstalled, used multiple users, and no luck. I've been using it since it first came out with no problems until now. I did a search but all the threads I saw were about Safari 3 and none of them had a solution that worked yet.

I've been using the Messages Beta for a while now and its been great. I've it installed on two machines. One machine is fine, but on the other it's nearly unusable. The messages window is all over the place. I click on a message in the left hand side and nothing happens. Double click on another and I get a totally different message. I've odd blank messages... And when I quit and reopen different messages show. Now I reinstalled it a few times now, and nothing has any effect... any ideas while I wait until mountain lion?? Ive also ditched all the prefs I can see.

Within the past week, Photos (beta) in iCloud no longer opens. I receive the same error message every time.
I eliminated the possible error of network by testing at home and work, but I'm not sure what the missing resources could be. I've tested it on a MacPro and MBP using Yosemite (10.10.1) and the latest Safari but Photos beta will not open online. Encountered this problem of Photos in iCloud not opening?
Was just thinking to myself, it's almost May and Steam is still Window-only. Didn't seem to get into Valve's Mac beta program either. But there's news says their WebKit update is coming out Monday, at least for PC-users. Think we'll see the OS X version then?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI never download betas, jailbreak, or hack anything. I went on tuaw and they had links to Itunes 10.1 beta and iOS 4.2 GM and I couldnt resist. I have been running both for a week now. The itunes beta has a BIG BUG that is driving me nuts! Whenever I try to edit a song or artist name by clicking on it, Itunes force closes.
This happens every single time. My questions is for those who are used to testing betas and early releases: Once Itunes 10.1 is officially released, will it show up as a software update that I could just upgrade to? How does one update from a beta to a final public release of an application?
