OS X :: Two Finger Scrolling Like IPhone's Contacts?

After getting my Macbook Pro, I found out about the two finger scrolling feature on the trackpad and it had made browsing around a lot more easier.
While scrolling, it reminded me of my mother's iPhone scrolling while looking for contacts, where you do a finger gesture and it continues to scroll down even though your fingers are off it already.
Is there are feature to be used with the Macbook Pro's trackpad?

I just installed 10.6.5 on my MacBook Pro 5,3, but in iTunes the two finger scolling does not go down, it goes down and right. So basically two finger scolling in iTunes is now scrolling to the bottom right while in -as far as I can see- the other applications scroll properly (=down). Anybody else experiencing this particular issue?

Problem I have, on my last generation macbook, I would rest one finger on the track pad, and just scroll with the other one, and it would scroll down the whole screen. Now with the new macbook, I actually have to scroll with both fingers for it to actually work. Also can't get used to the two button tap, I keep doing it but mistake, mostly to the huge trackpad and me resting my fingers on it.
Anyone had this similar problems? I know it's nitpicking but I miss my old trackpad.

just a problem that i hope is easily fixable! this has been happening for a while now but it's only just started to annoy me now that i've realised a whole website won't work with it (beatport.com)
basically when i two finger scroll with safari it works almost all the time, but when my mouse if on top if certain things, usually flash animations and the sort, it just doesn't work. embedded videos are normally the culprits, but like i said earlier a whole website that seems to be mostly flash based, beatport.com if you'd like to test yourself, just won't work at all unless i put my pointer right around the edge of the web page.
is this a known problem that i'm going to have to deal with? if not, does anyone know of a fix? i presume it's software based so hopefully an easy(ish) fix!

Before somebody says it, this will not support G3's.
I recently aquired a 900MHz 32mb VRAM iBook G3, and it's a great machine, using it right now as a matter of a fact, but I've gotten so used to my MacBook's two finger scrolling feature on the trackpad and I while I can deal with hitting the down arrow, it would be nice if there were some hack for the G3 iBooks (see notice above) to enable that feature.
Does anybody know of an application (besides iScroll) or a hack in terminal or something that can add this feature to my machine?

Last night I was playing with my wife's 1.33 Mhz G4 iBook (12", last revised edition) and I noticed that it supported the two finger scrolling in Safari. Pretty cool I thought, but didn't think that this was even possible with older Mac laptops. The iBook is running 10.5 with the most recent software updates.
Did Apple slip an enhancement in for iBooks or has it always been there?

Not sure if this a known issue or just me but I found this morning that two finger scrolling upwards doesn't work on my MBA when I am browsing in Google Chrome. I observed it works in other apps including Safari. Thought of taking it to the Genius Bar then gave up because of the hassle of going through the replacement as I already put in full body zagg on my MBA.

Hello. Has anyone consistently experienced web browser crashes with both Firefox and Safari whereby you are scrolling down a page using 2 fingers and the trackpad. I was blaming Flash but it is happening all the time with even static pages!
Has anyone got any ideas or fixes or indeed is anyone else experiencing this?

I have a MacBook Pro 17 ( two years old maybe) and just upgraded to Lion. I can do the pinching part of the new trackpad Lion coolness but not the scrolling. Which is annoying since the old scroll bars on windows are gone. I have them all selected to be ON in system prefs.Do these features not work on macs that aren't new with a builtin new magic pad?

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the 4 finger gestures built into OSX? I've looked around and found no way to override them. If nobody is knows directly how to accomplish this I'd also be interested in knowing what libraries the handlers may reside in so I can poke around and try and do it myself.
I'm also interested in trying to find a way to make 3 finger tap do a middle click. Or something along those lines.

I have an Iphone and I have a macbook pro. Now, I used to have at my work Hosted Exchange were all my contacts were on. Now, lost my job and now I want to delete the workaccount (mail). When I do that, my Iphone erases all my contacts on my iphone, which i don't want of course.
Now, what i did, I have tagged all the boxes in entourage to sync with Icall, etc. BUT when i do a sync from Itunes, it whipes away all my contacts again, because it probably takes it from the empty folders. So that's a big issue. I'm not able to get all my contacts into Entourage or I call. Normally when you put the cable in, it should sync everything from the iphone to your mac right? Well it doesn't. It doesn't even asked the question. I have no clue what to do anymore or how to get my contacts into my entourage, so i can make a new e-mailaccount (personal one) and link everything together.

Using iTunes, I imported my contacts from my iPhone to my Mac. What I should have done is choose the Selected groups option (because I just want my iPhone contacts) but by mistake I chose All contacts, with the result that I ended up with lots of unwanted contacts (e.g. from my work MS Exchange account). So I have deleted all the contacts from my Address Book and want to start the sync process again.Â
I want to make sure I don't delete all my contacts from my iPhone.Â
If I tick "Sync Address Book Contacts", "All contacts" (all other options are greyed out) and click "Sync", what will happen? Will the fact that I have deleted all the contacts on my mac wipe the contacts from my iPhone when I press Sync?Â
If I uncheck the "Sync Address Book Contacts", I get a prompt telling me iTunes will no longer sync with my phone and asking me if I want to remove contacts previously synced to my iPhone. Out of caution I am choosing the option "Don't remove contacts".Â

I have an issue with contacts on my devices. My iPhone 4s, and my MacBook Pro. I am running Lion and the latest version of everything and yadayadayada. But I want the Address Book on my Mac to be identical to the one on my iPhone so I have numbers and emails all stored of my friends and family on my Mac as well as iPhone. However, when I go to iTunes and click sync contacts and all that, it does something with Google and crap to match them and it's just a total mess. On my iPhone I have groups of contacts that are "From My Mac" which contains about 2/3 of all my contacts. Like some synced and others didn't. Then there is an "iCloud" group. Which contains very very few contacts and doesn't do crap for me. Then there is an "All Contacts" group that actually has everything. I thought iCloud was going to sync ALL my contacts to ALL my devices? I don't know what to do right now at all. I think my Mac is syncing with Google and not my iPhone because the only contacts it's syncing are the ones from my old droid on that email, which is also my Apple ID. So should I take my Mac off syncing with gmail contacts and then I can remove all the gmail contacts off of gmail for good or whatever and then I can get my iPhone contacts on?

I've had an iphone 4 for 2 years, always syncing contacts with outlook on my old PC. Everything worked fine until icloud; I then found that any new contacts weren't syncing to outlook, I'm assuming because the phone was only syncing to icloud? No matter, decided not to worry as I wanted to buy a mac, having worked with them recently.
So my issue now is (very similar to before) that I can't sync my contacts from my iphone to my mac, again because it insists the phone is backing up to icloud. I tried this morning; it prompted me that the phone was 'on' icloud and therefore not syncing with mac etc; I checked the box to sync contacts, hit apply and merge in the hopes I could get my contacts from my phone onto the mac. Instead it's created another phone book on my iphone with just the three contacts that were on the mac?!
Now when I go to contacts on my iphone it has three groups: All contacts, all on my iphone and all icloud. The first and last have all my contacts in; the all on my iphone has zero. I know the transition to something new isn't always easy, but I'm now really confused.The Mac is on Snow Leopard, and my understanding of browsing the forums is that only lion will work with icloud. I haven't bought any software yet, so I'm not concerned about compatibilty if I upgrade. I AM however concerned as to how icloud will work if I do upgrade?
Will it use the iMac or the iphone as the 'senior' device?
If it uses the mac will I lose all my contacts?
With cloud do I not need to backup my iphone?
What's the difference between backup, sync and icloud?

I am trying to move all of my contacts from my iphone to the address book on my macbook. I have carried out a back up and then tried a sync choosing the "merge info" option along the way. I have retained all the contacts on my phone but cannot get them to appear in my address book on my mac. When I look at my contacts on the iphone - when I check in the groups tab I now have two listing under "from my mac" these are the single contact i made up in order to merge and "all from my mac" which contains this single contact along with the standard apple contact that always appears. It seems the info is going to the phone but not back into my address book.

My contacts are no longer syncing from my iMac to my iPhone, however they ARE syncing from my iPhone to my iMac. Both are signed in to the same iCloud account and both have contacts selected. This is fairly recent, possibly when I updated to Yosemite. What am I missing?

A friend has an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1) and a Mac Book Pro (OSX Lion). He wanted the contacts from his Gmail account to appear on his iPhone. This was easy enough - I just added his Gmail account to his iPhone under Mail, Contacts Calendars.Â
The problem - we want all of these contacts to sync with his Mac. Both if the iPhone and Mac have iCloud enabled with the same account. Accounts are set to sync. However, the only contacts appearing on him Mac are the ones that were already there. It's not syncing all accounts from his iPhone.Â
