Nov 18, 2009I have only been able to receive email from my gmail account on the computer that "Gets" it first. I searched on the web, tried to put the "recent:" prefix in front of my MBP gmail address.However, it is still not working, email only goes to whichever computer downloads it first. Is there any other way?

Nov 17, 2010Just received my refurbished 27" 2.8 quad i7 iMac and I'm psyched! Thing is I can't find the info as to how I make my Mac mail sync up with my Gmail. I can send out mail from Mac mail but I can't receive it. I'm sure it's an EZ process...if ya know how it's done.

Mar 16, 2009I have one problem again regarding my "MAIL"
I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.

Oct 2, 2009I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails.
However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!

Dec 22, 2005For the last week or two, my apple mail has no longer been receiving my gmail. I have done nothing to the preferences.
Has anyone else had this problem and would anyone know how to fix it?
All I can think is something may have changed on their servers in the UK since it changed to 'googlemail', however, I managed to get a 'gmail' address before the switch.

Can I use Safari (like I do with other accounts) to send and receive email via googles email servers?

May 15, 2012I am now experisenicng the following error message in Mail on my macbook. I am running Lion and it is updated but my icloud emails won't come in.
the following message appears:
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “iCloud” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” using SSL on port 993. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct."
I have checked the password and all other settings and they are all correct so I dont know why this is now suddenly happening.

The message is 'Cannot Get Mail, the user name or password for iCloud is incorrect'.When I enter the correct password it will not take and continues to ask me for may password over and over. Mac Mini :: Addressees No Longer Receive Emails?
May 25, 2012For some strange reason, I have certain addressees who no longer receive my emails. I have combined my .mac mail account and my AOL mail account into the mac mail system and it has worked successfully for years. But now some are not being received. Yesterday, as a test, I sent an email via my mac account and my AOL account but neither was received. So I sent the AOL version to my wife's PC and then forwarded it from her PC to the recipient and it worked.
I know the folks who are not receiving my emails have not blocked me. My problem seems to me mac related.

Jun 8, 2012I had an active @mac.com address and made a smooth transition to iCloud some months ago. My iCloud apple identity is my @mac.com address but since Sunday, I cannot send or receive emails with this address, only with my @me.com address. Same for iMac, iPhone and iPad.I have now spent two long phone calls with the apple help number. I then had a fast track on-line conversation with someone today for another hour to have it escalated to a senior advisor. They have tried to sort out the problem unsuccessfully - am sure they will have another go on Monday. In the meanwhile, is there anyone who has had the same problem before? I have tried changing my password on iCloud, deleting and reinstalling my iCloud on my iPhone but nothing has worked.

Sep 5, 2008I've been trying to set up a new email account using apple mail Version 2.1.3 (753.1) using mac osx version 10.4.11. My out going mail server is Sky. However,it is not a sky email address and i'm having real problems getting it to work. The account has been set up and i can recieve email but not send email. When i try to send an email i get the following message.
The server response was: 5.5.1 [URL]
or
The SMTP server �smtp.tools.sky.com� rejected the password for user �Blah blah�
Please re-enter your password, or cancel.
I did this and clicked on ok but that box just reappears. I know that the password is correct.
