OS X Mavericks :: Where Extension CC Panels Stored On IMac
Jun 2, 2014
I have been using Adobe Extension Builder 3 to create some test panels and now I want to trash them, but Adobe seems to have hidden them. I have tried: Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences folder, but they are not there. Nor are they in the main Photoshop folder "Plug-ins". Where the extension panels for Photoshop CC are stored? I have done searches, on extension names, but nothing shows up.
Does anyone know which 17" LCD panels from the G5 iMac can be swapped with the Early 2006 Duo Core 17" iMac? My "speculation" is that the 17" G5 iSight equiped iMacs are a likely candidate.
Where (I'd assume /System/Library/Sounds somewhere) the "Message Sent" sound is? In OS X Mavericks, in the Messages app, they removed the ability to set a custom "Message Sent" sound, so it appears I'll have to do it the hard way, by replacing the existing sound file. I just need to know where that file is.
I have never used iCloud, and would like to know: what kind of documents can be stored on iCloud? I use apps such as Painter X3, and would like to store those projects. Is it possible? Also, how do I know what I have stored, can I eliminate it from iCloud when I choose, is it available for download. I really don't understand the whole concept. When attempting to sign in and use iCloud, I was given only a couple Apple apps to use for document upload. They were apps such as Pages, Preview, etc..
Is this not an external storage and backup resource?

I have a problem with window positions not being where they should be when changing from one logged in user to another logged in user. I have two user accounts and the problem occurs only for one user. I will describe the problem using the below combination of text and images.
I have tried all sorts of things including, repair permissions, boot into the restore mode to do an ACL repair, but I have also tried to delete and recreate the account that has the resolution problem without any success.
Step 1: I'm logged in as user number one, all good.
Step 2: Now it is time to change to user number two.
Step 3: The user change is done with no problems at all. When I, from user number two, changes back to user number one again this happens.
The normal spin: Wierd half screen grey and all windows are gathered ontop of each other instead of being left were they was previous to the user change. The screen does not get half grey when I do the user change in the other direction.
The whole screen is back but all windows are still gathered ontop of each other instead of being left were they was previous to the user change.
I am running Mavericks 10.9.3 on my iMac and recently had to have the Genius Bar completely reset my system due to issues with performance since the upgrade. I was primarily using Backblaze to back up my entire operating system. I am now trying to restore "Mailboxes on My Mac"in Mail. I was able to get the actual names of mailboxes back via going to my library in the back up and moving all folders to my current library, however it only restored the mailboxes themselves. There are no emails that were but should have been included.
I am trying to locate an attachment file from a recently deleted message. The message is no longer in my trash, so I can't access the file through Mail. In the past, there was usually an archived copy somewhere on my hard drive, but it seems to have moved in my most recent update of Mac OSX. It used to be in the Library folder in my user folder, but now there is no Library folder in that location. Where do I find these files?
Info: Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)
Since using Maverick, my apple mail is showing all my client folders (mailboxes under my email address) in junk as well (that's 62 folders in two locations). This problem is only appearing on my computer, junk is empty on my iphone? Clients are having mail bounce back to them when they send me an attachment. My trash is empty and my inbox only has a few emails in it.
I've set up an Automator to batch rename files. The renaming works fine. The problem arises when it renames a file which doesn't contain it's extension (a common MacOS practice). Is there some way to make sure it preserves the filetype? For instance, this works fine:
Original:
Output:
And this results in an error:
Original:
Output (file type has been replaced with generic "document" type)
Someone used my computer here in the ofc during the weekend and resized the left panel really wide (i don't know why he did that). I tried to resize it back. It's the panel where you see the devices, shared, places, search for etc. When I reopen the window in finder the wide panel remains the same. I've been experimenting on how to put it back the way it used to but I couldn't get it back. Is there a way to disable window and panel resizing in mac osx so that this won't happen again?
I was testing out the MBA 13" and 11" again. My main goal was to see how much faster Flash & SSD are in comparison to HDD. It's so fast at restarting and booting. However I noticed something strange. Both units had darker tint towards the edge of the screens. I know colour shift happens with TN panels, but not like this?
Using 10.9.4 on imac 2.66Ghz i5 .I am looking for live radio streams off the internet and many times safari or quicktime will try to open the stream. .wmp , .asf , .mp3, .aac+
is there away to associate the extension with specific applications to try and utilize the stream such as itunes, winamp, real player, or vlm? This would not be the same as the process for opening files using the Open With since this is off the web page. Used to be a simple task in the past. Doesn't seem that itunes supports drag and drop feature.
I would like to direct my Documents, Pictures, and "Other" to 3 folders in my downloads folder upon downloading them, either with Safari, with Finder, Folder Actions, Automator, or with any other free tool that does not take up too much CPU load.
My desk configuration for my imac includes a keyboard tray. I am contemplating just not using it, however it really does put the keyboard in a more natural place for me to sit correctly. If I want to use the wired keyboard though, I will obviously need some type of usb extension. I have read these came with the old keyboards, but they don't come with the new ones. Does anyone know where I can find one that is compatible with the aluminum keyboard? Would the extenders that came with the old Mac keyboards work (in case i can find one on ebay or something)?
I recently purchased an iMac so I can do image capturing. I had previously been using a PC and moved to the Mac. The software I have been using has a Mac and PC version. When I do my projects, it saves a temporary image file to the User's Temp directory as a jpeg on the PC. I have attempted to contact the software developers to ask them where on the Mac it stores this file and they have not gotten back to me. I am curiously if anyone can point me in the direction of where to find this temporary image file. I realize that Mac's stored images as .png not jpeg but I am getting no response from the company's devolper and I use this file for my projects.
Say I have downloaded and compiled pngcrush and want to make it so that I can access it from terminal simply by typing pngcrush bla bla bla instead of having to specify the path to it? Unlike say wget, I can't "sudo make install" pngcrush.
How can I find the passwords stored in my macbook pro? Is there a list hiding somewhere? eg. I wanted to log into an account I have with a web-based business and my computer remembers the password but it is not visible so I cannot re-enter it on a later page.
Where the safari stores all data of cache? Safari vesrion 5.1.7. ? I buy a safari cache viewer app and in that app I need to set a path to the cache file... where it is?
Okay, here's the story: I cloned my PB's hard drive to an external hd, and did a clean install of tiger. Now, I need my emails back. Where do I find them in my cloned drive?
My drive went down a while ago, but thankfully I was able to recover my entire home folder. Only problem is, I can't seem to restore the contents of my stickies in Dashboard. I have my library backed up.
Not so much for Apple Software update, but when re-installing OS X after sometime, smaller programs like Perian or firefox install, then come up with an update. I like to keep the install files for my programs handy, and the usual method is to find the developer site and download the newest version, but when it updates itself, it downloads the new version, then automatically launches it.
I'd like to know where it downloads to so I can just take that file and store it, rather than having to go to the site all and re-download it. I've looked around but can't seem to find any place that it would go, so I assume it's some hidden temp folder or something. I remember on Windows it was some temp folder in the Windows system folder (at least for the Service packs and other WindowsUpdate items).
I'm manually moving files to a new hard drive and need the files for Dreamweaver CS4 so I don't have to setup new sites again. Are they in the User > Library > etc...? Or System > Library > etc...? I tried copying the user library Dreamweaver files but it didn't work. Just to be clear I'm not talking about the individual files for my site, I need the preference files? Not sure what they are called, .plist? The ones that will restore Dreamweaver with the correct directories and stuff.
1). When I set up my iMac and Macbook Pro for the first time, it asked me for my name, address, city, zip, phone, etc.... well my address and phone has changed. How do I edit so the updated info displays into forms automatically? And can I turn off the automatic insertion of information when filling forms?
2). My Macbook Pro 2.8 came with leopard obviously. I have an iMac 2.8 that did not come with Leopard and wish to install Leopard. Can I use the OS dvd that came with my Macbook Pro to install Leopard or should I buy the $29 upgrade dvd? And can I do this without erasing all my program application files?
I am running MS Access on Windows XP on Virtual PC 7 on an iMac 10.4.11. I want to backup my MS Access files to iDrive for off site Internet storage. I don't know how to locate these files in the Finder Window on my mac.
I made a clone of my HDD before doing a clean install of the 10.6.3. I am trying to locate the bookmarks.html in the cloned HDD to restore the bookmarks to Firefox, but no luck. Does anyone know where exactly the bookmarks are stored for firefox?
