View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, I've been trying to access my webcam but both Google Chrome, Safari, and my computer claim that it doesn't exist. I know for a fact that the camera is there, and works, having used it in the past, but all of a sudden it seems to have stopped being recognized.
I've tried changing my systems preferences and everything, and when it stopped working I hadn't changed anything. My Macbook is a Macbook OS X from 2009 running 10.9.4 and has no updates.

My Dad has a 2006 17" iMac that is fully updated and it does have a camera built in as it should. My Dad also has a cannon all in one printer scanner copy machine hooked up to the computer. As of this moment, when I hit an application like Photo Booth or something else that uses the camera, the program says that no camera is connected.
I did a little detective work and found where someone hooked up an all in one HP device and the scanner took over the "port" that the iSight camera was supposed to be on. I don't know if this is the problem or not but it was all I could come up with. I am pretty Novice when it comes to computers and don't know how to tell what is on any port or how many ports their even are for that matter.
Does anyone know of a decent web camera that can can fit/latch on the top of the MBP screen that I can use inplace of the default isight? The camera is really small and not so great in low light (the iPhone4's camera would be a better fit it seems).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to disable my Isight on a couple of computers used at our library. Under MacHints I found out that, when a program from OS X (Tiger at least) needs to access the integrated iSight camera, it has to call the QuickTimeUSBVDCDIgitizer.component. This file is located in the /System Library QuickTime folder.
How can I find this folder? When I search for it does not come up.
Or did anybody else figure out a way to disable this.
Oh, yeah, taping over it is a good suggestion but clever people just removed.
I have a MACBOOK PRO (new style) and i am trying to use the built in web cam. However, when I go into photo booth it tells me the camera is not connected. what it is that I am doing wrong? Also , when I go into photo booth the camera goes in and out...stating that camera is not connected.
I have a new nikon coolpix that when I connect to my computer does not come up anywhere or like a removable disk. My old coolpix cam up like a removable disk which I could just copy files to and from and select certain files but not others but now the only way I can get the photos is through iPhoto (2005) and I can only import everything. Is there a way that I can get itfas a removable disk or something?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem digitising footage into final cut from my Sony HD 1080i/mini DV camera.
It used to work ok, albeit with some rendering issues.I had it set to the HD settings. Suddenly it stopped working I have tried adjusting the audio visual settings, using several different types. The only one i could get it to communicate on was DV50 pal 48Hz anamorphic. But it stops digitising after 3/4 sec and says there is a problem with my source tape.
I recently had a High Resolution IP Camera set up at a offsite location. The company that set it up gave me an IP addresss to log in to see the pictures streaming. The problem is the address only works with Interent Explorer. Is there anyway to emulate IE without installing windows, or run a similar program to view the image. I'm looking NOT to buy extra software. It does not work with Safari or Firefox. I also tried Firefox on a windows machine and it did not work.
