I got a new macbook pro 3 days ago and I downloaded MSN messenger and when i try to log in it says that my email/password is incorrect(which is not true because i connected to MSN through meebo and to my email). I tried changing my password to all letters/all number/very easy and i tried to delete and reinstall MSN messenger but nothing worked. As a MSN messenger addict.
I have installed Yahoo Messenger for mac, when i chat with my windows friends, I could not able to start voice conversation. Please let me know, how to start voice chat.
and my windows friends informed, while start the voice conversation, they are getting feedback that the version i am using is not support.
I have been using both messenger 7.0.2 and the beta version of 8 for some time. I have recently upgraded both to Snow Leopard, and changed my ISP to TPG (Australian ISP). Ever since, when I attempt to connect to messenger (either version) it says the connection failed as I am not connected to the internet. My internet works fine so I am at a loss as to what the problem is.
i am having trouble with my mac messenger. It use to check spelling all the time but, lately it has stopped and i cant find the option to turn it on.I am currently using a Macbook Pro on Snow leopard
the other day i downloaded the new msn (7.02) along with the new safary (4 beta), installed them and opened them.
msn didn't seem to be working (i couldnt open a chat window) so i quit. i then got one of those 'an error has occurred - report.. etc' messages. i clicked don't report and gave it another try. this time it opened properly and seemed to be working fine, except that every time i write to someone and clicked enter i have to re-click on the window to be able to continue writing, otherwise it just gives me error sounds. this is extremely annoying, especially since i'm practically anal retentive about my computer.
I'm using Yahoo Messenger for Mac version 3.0 beta and recently my display images have stopped displaying when logged in or when I open a chat window.
When not logged in and I am selecting a user the display images show, but they go out as soon as I login to any name. When I go to the window to set my browser image, the image field displays blank even after I try reloading the image. I have trashed my Preferences and that doesn't work.
So I just got a MacBook Pro a couple months ago, and I am having issues using webcam chat in Yahoo Messenger for Mac. The built in iSight cam doesn't seem to turn on (no green light) when I try to use it, and the person on the other end just sees a black screen for my webcam.
I got a Mac OS X from my brother, we set up the internet on it and everything. I clicked on the messenger, but it won't work. It told me: Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the Internet.
So I downloaded MSN Messenger for Mac, installed it, tried to sign in but again it said the same thing!!!how do I make it work?!
I just got a Mac (it's a Powerbook G4, brand-new, hand-me-down from my uncle), and it had an older version of MSN messenger installed on it. I tried signing in, but it told me I had to update my messenger in order to continue. I did, but a new window appeared with the MSN icon and an arrow pointing to the Applications folder. I dragged the icon towards the application folder, and then tried opening the messenger, but it didn't work. I even dragged it into my Dock, and when I click it, it doesn't open.
I have been having a problem with Microsoft's messenger in SL since i installed them on both of my macs. Messenger opens fine but every time I try to log in, it will show the "can't log in" message... in both machines! I have looked it up in google but haven't found anyone with the same problem.
my family have Blackberry phones, I am the only one with iPhone at home, so I am wondering if there a Messenger to be used on Mac to contact my family.
I downloaded msn messenger for mac when I got my mac about two months ago.
It stopped working a few weeks ago (not sending/receiving messages) so I deleted it the other day out of my applications window, and tried to re-download a different version of it. When I do this, and try to log in, it tells me that the system cannot log me in. I don't understand if it is just the msn or if I need to completely remove the msn from my computer, and if that's the case, how do I do that?
I'm writing something to someone. I finish writing and press enter to send the message. Everytime I press enter to send a message my cursor disappears from the dialog box and I have to click back in it to write again.
I just got my net yesterday for my new iMac. And well I downloaded Mac: Messenger (Windows Live Messenger) and I noticed I don't have the webcam feature. Do I have to download something else for it ?
I've never had this problem with my windows computers but I got the latest version of msn messenger for mac and whenever I type in my display name, and then log off. It won't save it. That and along with the personal message as well. It just shows my name that I put on my hotmail account. I know I can change my name in my hotmail account but I'd rather figure this out.
I have a problem signing into my messenger for mac. Version 7.0.1. My computer is a Power Book G4. version 10.4.11
Below the description of the error: "Signing into MSN Instant Messenger Service failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten your password, click Help in the main window, and then click Help Topics."
My username and password are correct. I tried logging into my hotmail account and it works. I also tried other accounts without success. I also tried uninstalling and installing back again. Nothing seems to work.
I'm using ebuddy for now, but I want to get to the bottom of this and fix it fast!
I had installed Messenger for Mac 7, and it worked fine for a few days. After that, when i launched it, it would hang, and show me the color wheel. I would have to force quit in order to close it. That was fine, however when i tried an MSN clone (aMSN), i got the same thing, hang, color wheel, and eventually force quit. Fine, i thought. I will try Adium. SAME THING! AND.... Get this.... I tried to use Web Messenger, and it hung Safari, resulting in a force quit. I have not been able to find any topics relating to this specific problem. Coming from a Windows background, I can only assume, in Windows terms, that a service is not starting, and hanging my apps. Or that MSN hates Mac users.
I've been googling this for a bit, and I'm only seeing a single tutorial being copy pasted around from back on OSX 10.4. Since iChat has been updated several times since then, I'm not sure how viable the tutorial is.
I got the new Office 2011 so the new MSN Messenger 8 was included. I've tried everything but nothing works. I can't connect. It'll just say "Sign in failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten... blah" I know the password and everything is correct since I can sign in on my windows computer. I've tried using another account and it doesn't work either. I would use Adium but I really dislike the style along with many 3rd party clients. I had MSN 6 installed and that worked fine.
Whenever I try to delete a contact from MSN Messenger, the following comes up. "The server was unable to remove the user "___" from your contact list."
I've attached a picture to show what I mean (sorry for all the painting lol) but at times when I'm on MSN Messenger for Mac I always appear offline but people still start convos with me which is very annoying.
right, i have msn messenger for mac 7.0.2 and when ever i send a message i have to click back in the box where u type at the bottom before i can type again.
This gets seriously annoying and i was wondering if any1 else has had this problem or knows how to fix it,
I have MSN Messenger 7.0.2 for my Mac and I was wondering if there is a way to add custom emoticons (say from this website [URL] into MSN so I can use them. Anybody know how?
I was wondering if Safari 4 beta still messed up Messenger for Mac (MS version). I didnt want to install it since last time i had to get rid of everything from both programs and had to reinstall it.
New Macbook Pro owner.Been using PCs for years.Along with this I have a 10 year old MSN Messenger account.I see Mac for Messenger automatically came with the Mac or Leopard.
In any event I have, over the past 3 days, tried signing into to my MSN Messenger numerous times and each time am told my password or user name is incorrect althogh I have double checked and triple checked many times. So it wont let me on BUT I can sign into Windows Live using the same password.ID info.
I have taken down my firewall, put it back up, thinking maybe that was the problem to no avail.
I have even changed my password twice waiting up to 24 hours to try again and just now for the 5th day in a row it tells me it is wrong when it ISNT. I really do need to get online with it now after being off for several days with this.I just checked yet again and see now that I still cannot log on but can on the web in Windows Live alhtough I sign out of that so it wont interfere.
I AM STUMPED and no longer know what to do next short of just getting a whole new identity but I have used this for 10 years with no problem up until now so a name/password change but I would rather not have to get a new one but just want to be able to log on to Mac Messenger ASAP.
i have messenger for mac 8 beta as i need the video calls option but the annoying problem is is that it keeps freezing in mid-use and is getting on my nerves, i have reinstalled it but that's about it.
I use MSN Messenger 7.0.2 or 6.0.3 (i can't remember which one I installed but its either one) on my Mac OSX. I was able to sign in regularly on my Mac, until a point in time when I could not. The error message said that either i am not connected to the internet, or the server is too busy to respond. This happens once every other alternate day and it affects the application for the entirety of that day. I will have to wait for the next day, to see if I can successfully log in using that application again. I have tried re-downloading the software again, to no avail.
