OS X :: Keeps Asking For Keychain Password - Stop?

My MacBook continually and randomly asks for my Keychain password. I have to cancel (or enter it) every time, it's pretty irritating. It seems to be totally sporadic.

Applications :: Safari Asking For A Password To Access The Keychain / Keychain Can't Be Found
Safari keeps giving me popup windows saying a keychain can't be found. It's only just started doing this but it's really annoying. Could it have anything to do with the fact I installed a new flash player? That's the only difference I can think of.Also on another computer it keeps asking for a password to access the keychain. It only does this on one user account though. Any assistance is gladly accepted!

Software :: Using Password For Standard User Account / Safari Is Asking For A Keychain Password
I'm working on a Mac-mini running OS X Tiger. I've got one admin account setup and 5 or so standard accounts. I'm configuring a connection to a shared folder on a network server on the standard accounts and I wanted to connect to that share using an account id that is DIFFERENT than the standard account id. I enter that id and the correct password and I check "save password in keychain" (or whatever that check box says) and I get prompted to enter the "keychain password" to unlock the keychain. The problem is, I never setup a keychain password for the standard user account. I'v tried the password for the administrator account (even though I can't specify the admin id anywhere) and I've tried the password for the standard user account, neither of which work.

However, I can still get successfully connected to the shared folder. I just don't want the user to have to enter the password each time they login.

Additionally, after going through this, Safari is now asking for a keychain password for the "login" keychain when it first starts up and loads the default home page.

OS X Tiger :: Keychain, Password - Says Authentication Password Is Incorrect
Girlfriend's PC needed re-imaged, asked me for the password to her network. I go to keychain, click on her network, get asked for authentication password... and am told it is incorrect.
This is sudden. How can this be?

I am at my place, she is at hers. I shouldn't need to be on her network, should I? Doesn't make sense. All I wanted to do was view the password, but my MBP is telling me that my own authentication password is incorrect.

OS X :: How To Save Network Password - Saves The Password As A Keychain
so, i have gotten everything all set up and up and running but one thing that i have noticed is my network connection disconnecting itself. every time i have closed i the lid it has diconnected itself from the network. i realize that it goes to sleep when that happens and it shouldnt be really doing anything in sleep mode. but im kinda p-o'ed at how when i open it up i need to re enter the networs pass word. is there a way that i can make it so that it automatically connects to the network when its opened/turned on? i checked the box that "saves the password as a keychain" what ever that means too.

OS X :: Keychain Keeps Asking Me For Password?
I recently changed the password on my keychain and now when I boot up my computer, it'll ask me for the password everytime. It'll ask me randomly when opening some applications like Chrome, which stores its passwords in Keychain.

Here's a screenshot:

There is no "Always Allow" or anything like that. I have to enter it every time.

Also, I don't think this has anything to do with it, or maybe it does but I recently started using LastPass and 1Password (which I deleted the same day b/c I liked LastPass more). Could either of those applications be causing this problem?

OS X :: Mail Keeps Asking For Keychain Password
Mail keeps asking for my Keychain password about every half an hour or hour, randomly, it seems. Also, when my Mac wakes up from sleep Mail always asks for my Keychain password. I think it started after I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Before Snow Leopard, Mail would ask me for my Keychain password once when I started the app and from then on never again until I relaunched it.

OS X Leopard :: Keychain Forgets Password?
I have an iMac and a Macbook. Both work fine with wifi internet connection - most of the time! Sometimes the Macbook will drop out. When it does, it keeps dropping out. I go through network preferences diagnostics and find I have to type in the password to my home network (freebox in France). I tick the "remember password in keychain" box. Everything connects up just fine and then after a short time (a little as two minutes sometimes), the network drops out again and I have to go through the same procedure, typing in the network password again.

It's like my Macbook checks all the time the connection and then sometimes just forgets the password and the keychain is broken. This never happens with the iMac and the Macbook can go several weeks without it happening. When it starts happening, it goes on for a few days like that and then seems to click back into normal mode for a few weeks. I did an Onyx maintenance yesterday but it is happening again today.

OS X :: Administrator / Password / Keychain Login
A week ago, my computer (Macbook) "crashed". When I powered it up, it would go to the grey apple screen, then it would go to a blue screen, then it would switch to a light blue screen, then back to the darker blue screen, etc and never fully boot into OSX. I finally found my install discs for OSX and reinstalled my operating system from scratch, formatted my hard drive, and started new. Once I reinstalled, I realized how outdated and different everything looked... and I realized I was running OSX 10.4. So from there, I found my Leopard disc (10.5), put that in, and "Upgraded" my system to 10.5.

And basically here's where I'm at now:........................

OS X :: Keychain Access - Password To Unlock?
I recently created a Sparse Disk Image that I've password protected. When I try to open the Disk Image I get a popup window that has the words "Keychain Access" as the window title and the following text below that: "To perform this action you must unlock the keychain. Please enter the keychain password." Now, this is pretty straight forward (obviously). My question is, how do I (once I've unlocked the keychain and opened the Disk Image) immediately lock the keychain again so that if I step away from my computer my keychain isn't still open?

OS X :: Unable To Remember Password In Keychain?
A few weeks ago I started getting some error messages from my AEBS that I have a couple of HDDs and a printer attached to.

After a long talk with Apple Support the problem mostly went away but now whenever I try to access my AEBS disks from the shared panel in finder is is gives me "connection failed" and I have to click on "Connect As" and enter my password.

The real problem is that no matter what I do I cannot get my keychain to remember the password.

OS X :: Login Keychain Password Removing?
Ever since I got my macbook, I've been trying to get everything in sync between it and my imac using mobile me. I had a lot of trouble with saved passwords and other things not syncing so I deleted both keychains and started over fresh. Now everytime I log on to either my imac or mac book I'mn asked for a password to access my keychain.

How can I disable this? Have a made a mistake somewhere in all this configuring? I've never really messed with keychain so I really didn't know what I was doing.

OS X :: Keychain Admin Password Recovery?
So long story short I set up an account for my husband a while ago on my Macbook, he had full admin rights and privileges as do I, but he hasn't signed on for a few months. He has a ton of work on his account that he moved over from an old hard drive but he's forgotten his password. We've had history with password issues and he doesn't want me to see his and I don't want to know it. I was wondering if there was any way if I let him log on my admin account if he could simply view his password even though he was another user. According to him he remembers locking a bunch of documents using the same password so a simple reset won't work. Is there any way to use keychain to look at his admin account password without resetting it?

Pages 09 :: IWork Repeatedly Ask For Keychain Password?
My iWork 09 apps request my keychain password every few hours. (The software itself was the free trial, later upgraded to purchased status via boxed iWork DVD.) There are no password-protected documents involved, or use of iWork website, or anything else normally involving passwords. Inputting the password or hitting "Cancel" dispels the request, but it comes back later. Registering the product with Apple didn't change anything. I have 1Password installed, so it's possible that my 1Password keychain isn't properly accepting the input passwords. But if so, that'd still leave the question: Why are the iWork apps continually checking the keychain in the first place?

OS X Tiger :: Keychain Asking For Password But Wont Accept?
We recently had our HD in a PB G4 die. I reinstalled from a backup to a new HD but started getting this odd keychain problem. We have two accounts on the PB. Everytime we switch from one account to the other we get a box that says "Please enter your keychain password. Mac OS X wants to use keychain 'System.'" If I enter the password, it comes back with invalid password. If I just cancel (have to do it twice) the box goes away. After that every thing seems fine. This is what I have in the three keychain locations.

OS X Tiger :: Syncing Keychain Password After Migration
I migrated from an old G3 to a Mac Mini. When I migrated I had to create a new account. The old account is "richs" and the new account is "richs2". I only have the new account on the computer but my old keychain migrated to the new computer so I only have the one keychain which is fine. I have two problems.

1. After a restart if I load Safari or Mail I am prompted to enter my keychain password. I don't remember having to enter it as much in the past.
2. My keychain password does not sync with my account password. When I change my account password I want it to change my keychain password so I don't have to remember two passwords.

Under Preferences there are two options. One is "Synchronize login keychain password". I am assuming that means it will sync my account password with my keychain password so I have it checked but apparently it makes no difference. Also there is an option for "set login keychain as default" . Both boxes are checked and it says underneath to check them if you want the keychain to unlock automatically at login which, again, it apparently doesn't. BTW, in the keychain list under my account name there are all of my internet passwords listed but under the "login" keychain there is nothing listed.

IChat AV 3 :: Unable To Remember Password In Keychain
so i'm actually using my old backup slow Mac that I only use when my main computer is in for repair - which happens to be the case right now.

This Mac recently had a fresh clean installation of Tiger, and i haven't even been able to put any of my information back on it except all of my info being synced with MobileMe. There is nothing else on it, so all settings should be clean.

Anyways, i set up iChat, and every time i log out and back in again, it tells me the Keychain can't remember my password. So i went into the Keychain Utility and Reset Keychains from the Keychain drop down menu.

Also, i tried removing all of the iChat related .plist files to the desktop and relaunching iChat again. This didn't help either.

So then i created a test user account, set it up again. And it seems to be working fine there.

So i then deleted my user account (no info to worry about deleting), and set it back up again.

So now i not only have a fresh installation of Tiger, but also a fresh new user for myself and i still continue to get a window for my password telling me the Keychain can't remember it.
